Trade Target #3 : Rudy Gay
Height: 6' 8"
Weight: 229 lbs
Age: 30
Season Stats: 18.5 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 2.9 apg, 1.4 spg, 0.7 bpg (33.6 minutes per game)
-
Yall all been waiting for this one. Do I even have to explain why he would be a good fit for our team?
-
He fits all the gaps, somebody wearing the number 35 left a gap in our lineup at small forward. Andre Roberson has filled in admirably, but everyone wants to see what Russ can do with a prime time scorer at the 3 position on this team.
-
Rudy does just that, averaging 18+ points per game this season and averaging almost the exact same for his career. He will get buckets. He is a good rebounder and has enough talent at making passes that he can feed the post and drop dimes to Russ and Victor given the opportunity. He also is a good defensive player meaning that if we lose Andre in the starting lineup, the fall off won't be too bad.
-
Rudy is a great fit for the Oklahoma City Thunder team, but is an even better fit for the community. Rudy has bounced around the league throughout his career and has been loved by about every fanbase that he has been around. Most of those teams don't have quite as tight knit a community as Oklahoma City, and that's no knock against them, that's just the special people that we have supporting our team. He would be a great fit for the fanbase and a role model to many.
-
Everybody wants Rudy Gay here in Oklahoma City, we have already accepted him and he currently plays for the Sacramento Kings. All that's left is to see if management does something about it.

We don't need to trade any key assets for him. Even if we get him it most likely won't be enough to beat the warriors or spurs in a 7 game series. Let's get Rudy and Blake in the offseason, and we would be a legitimate contender.

As long as they don't lose Adams, kanter., Roberson or oladipo this is a good trade

It's obvious people are just looking for a replacement for Durant... But when you compare last season's roster and this season's, we don't really need a replacement... All we need is consistency on offense at the 3. Last season we were weak at the 2. This season we're weak at the 3 but stronger at every other position. Instead of trading away developing players for a player who may or may not fit in the system, I suggest we stick with our guys and if at all we make a trade, it shouldn't cost us our young talents and it should be for a younger player with a long-term contract. Trust me, I'd like to see a defensive line up of Russ, Oladipo, Gay, Grant and Adams who can all produce on offense , but we might lose key players that contribute in other ways.
