First time to ride post race and it felt great!! 😃🙌🎉🚴🏃 Easy 25 mile bike and a 3 mile run. And here it is... my first attempt at #themurph (a slightly modded version as I only had an 8lb #titin shirt). So, 1 mile #run, 100 #pullups, 200 #pushups, 300 #squats, and then another 1 mile run completed in 56'19". ---------------------------------------------▪️ Overall, I'm proud of myself because I was intimidated by the #workout when my brother @bhoovu told me about it. I thought there is no way my body can do that...absolutely no way. But then, after flying home from an amazing weekend at the #indy500, I thought it through and I didn't want to be a hypocrite from my #fitness posts. I had to do this #challenge and put my body in a position to #fight and push through the struggle of nearly unbearable #pain, otherwise I would never have known or understood it. Memorial Day Murph Workout: 1-Mile run, 100-Pull-ups, 200-Push-ups, 300-Squats, 1-Mile Run. First time I've completed the work out as prescribed with a plate carrier with two lvl 4 bullet proof plates totaling 24 lbs. I completed all of the pull-ups and push-ups with strict form; which is likewise a first for me. The weather was 96 degrees, with 10% humidity and the workout was completed entirely outside. Two ripped hands later and I completed the workout in 1 hour, 19 minutes, and 15 seconds which is over 20 minutes slower than last year but I'm pretty proud of completing it RX. But in the end the suffering and the workout is a reminder of the men and women who has given everything for our rights. #agoge #spartanfit #homegym #bettereveryday #memorialday

If you're struggling, I know what you're going through....I've been there. I know how it feels to be soooo uncomfortable in my own skin that I would hide in big baggy clothes. I would hide my body from my husband and be embarrassed about what he saw. I hated having pictures taken because seeing myself would just make me so sad. I used to dread shopping for summer clothes especially bathing suits. I know how it feels to be miserable with HOW you feel on the INSIDE. I know what it is like to work full time and try and raise a family and feel like you never have time to work on yourself. To think it takes hours a day to change. To think only extreme diets will get me to fit in that size I think I should be wearing. To completely ignore my own needs, make excuses, and lose hope. But I have learned it doesn't have to be that way..... It doesn't take hours in a gym away from my kids and husband and starving myself to feel good about myself! I feel better and more confident about myself now in my mid 30s than I ever did in my 20s. You don't have to choose between yourself and being a good mom & wife! I can tell you from experience that you will be a better mom & wife if you fill your own cup and take care yourself. I'm here to help you! Let me help you get out of that rut and feel amazing this summer running around with your family and enjoying this summer. Enjoying the rest of your life! Now THAT’s the truth! ❤️ If you are neglecting your body and constantly comparing yourself to those who ARE doing something to take care of theirs, of course you are going to want what you don't have! ❤️ I spent years feeling self conscious and wanting to be skinnier, stronger, more tan, more outgoing—the list goes on. I spent countless hours picking on all my perceived imperfections and wanting things I did not have. But truly, what purpose does that serve? ❤️ When I really began to get into a fitness and healthy eating regimen, I finally began to feel proud of my body. I stopped comparing myself to other bodies. I didn't feel self conscious any more, and now I am a proud fitness coach helping others find that same inner confidence that I struggled so long to find. ❤️ Just look at these photos! On the right is me two and a half years ago—I’m smiling for the camera, but that was a time when I was unhappy with my body and unsure of how to fix it. I needed something – or someone – to help me! ❤️ On the left is me on my vacation last summer. Um, I NEVER would have willingly put a picture of myself in a bikini on Facebook EVER before! Taking control of my life has changed so much more than my body. It’s changed my confidence, my outlook, my spirit💗 ❤️ Treat your body with love and respect. If you are unhappy, make a change. If you're a mountain man like me, or just really love the outdoors, it can be tough to think of healthy trail snacks to munch on. My favorite choice is sunflower seeds! Admittedly, I like them for the activity and taste, so believe me when I say the health aspects are not the only draw. The cool thing is, sunflower seeds are super portable and are rich in Vitamin E, copper, B Vitamins like thiamine, phosphorus, selenium, and more. Like nearly all types of nuts and seeds, they provide a healthy source of essential fatty acids; their specific fatty acids are in the form of linoleic acid. Munch on, amigos!

I love this quote because I don't know if all of you know but I have been on this health and fitness journey for about 17 months and my weight loss happened pretty quickly but then I noticed that I could go even a step further and tone this 48 year old body and change my shape even further. Well, when you start weights lifting the changes happen slower and it's easy to feel discouraged because you don't "notice" visible changes. Today is 15/21 day fix ✅ I did total body cardio, 10mins abs, and upper fix! 💪🏼💦 It's my last week of this round and I'm working hard! Non scale victory!! These shorts are mediums that were too tight and not flattering when I start this journey but I'm able to wear them now! 🎉🎉

"Murph" For time: 1 mile Run 100 Pull-ups 200 Push-ups 300 Squats 1 mile Run In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005. This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it "Body Armor". From here on it will be referred to as "Murph" in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is. Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run.
