I weighed myself daily for most of my life until I tossed my scale in the garbage can last august. And I never looked back. I base my progress purely in nonscale victories- how my clothes fit, how much more weight I used when working out, how I feel based on what I fueled my body with on a particular day. I work on the 3rd floor in my office. Going up those 2 flights of stairs multiple times a day never winds me- NSV. Fitting in runs or workouts most days and often times waking up early to do so- NSV. Realizing that it IS possible for me to do push-ups- NSV. Realizing that I can do anything I want to in terms of fitness, from running a faster race to increasing my distance to becoming stronger than I ever thought I could be - huge NSV. Don't let that scale dictate your life. Sometimes I great about sharing my journey over the past 10 months and sometimes I'm not. A lot of the behind the scenes for me is consistency. And I'm not talking about 💯 % clean eating and killing myself with hours of workouts. 30 minute workouts 5-6 days a week and better choices with my eating than I've ever done before. Im learning what my options are and choosing my carbs or protein or fats or _____. It's a choice and my choices are paying off! This consistency is all from my monthly groups. I thrive from support and I'm sure you do too!! We weren't meant to go at life alone and it's way more fun with others! Yes you can workout by yourself and yes you can eat well, but if you are anything like me I would start something and not keep myself accountable. If you don't tell anyone you want to be healthier then if it doesn't happen no skin off your back right? This was me. I wanted something different and was just trying blindly to make changes. We are real in these groups. We set goals, we support each other and we just try everyday to do our best. Do we fail? Yes! But we pick ourselves back up and try again tomorrow. I've got spots in my April group starting to fill up. Now is the time to get your head in the right place and CHOOSE your priorities. My groups are FREE and a place of motivation and support if you are ready to jump in and make changes. Summer is coming! The photo on the right was from February! February people! In a bikini exactly one year after the birth of my daughter?!? Never would I have thought I would be in a spot mentally and emotionally where 1. This would even happen and 2. That I would share about it 🤗 Life's too short and this makes me too happy not to extend this invite! Message me or comment below to be added to our April group!

Better Get Better controlled mobility, day 15: shoulders! # I wanted to hit my shoulders today because my left shoulder has been a little cranky lately during my trapeze classes. Tomorrow I'll probably go back to those darn hips that need so much work! # I have used different variations of this movement for stability purposes *without* the forward reach. So I am getting both stability and controlled mobility in this movement today. # I have my feet elevated to allow me to find a vertical position in my torso, and my feet are apart because that allows me to really shift my weight better to each side. # My movement sequence is: 1. Push up through both shoulders and engage 2. Shift my body to one side while staying connected (no side bend) and without losing stability in my shoulder. 3. Reach my arm farther behind my ear, keeping the arm straight and trying not to lose position as I reach. # What I learned - it's not surprising my left shoulder is irritated - if you watch, I'm not able to stabilize as well when I'm supporting my weight on the left side. # Always a work in progress, always striving for better.
