Workout #11 Had a solid shoulder day today. Started did some standing overhead barbell press worked up to a set of 185 for 3, 195 for 2, then a drop set of 135 for 12 and 95 for 20. Got back on to cardio today. 25 minutes until Sunday then it goes to 30. I like to spend my time watching YouTube. I saved up all of @christianguzmanfitness vlogs since November. Well I tried to have a successful bulk and well it didn't go to well my weight went up and down like crazy I didn't get much stronger and I literally had no appetite. Stress is a killer and it can bring you down like crazy. For numerous reasons this has been the hardest couple months of my life and that's OK sometimes you gotta reach rock bottom to find your purpose. I'm still searching for mine and let me tell you it's been rough but I know I'll see the light at the end of the tunnel eventually. I just wanted to say: THANK YOU!!! I want to thank everyone in my HEALTH and FITNESS challenge group for helping me more than they know!! They have given me that DRIVE and that DETERMINATION I was missing to stick with this program! I'm not going to lie, since September of last year, I have not been working as hard as I should have been, or know I could have. My workouts were consistent (except for 2 weeks of vacation time), but my nutrition was not on point. I eat pretty healthy for the most part, but I was overindulging way too much, and the sweets were becoming a regular thing again. And when I say sweets, I mean a pound of fudge in one night 🙈 This group has given me the ACCOUNTABILITY I so desperately needed, and has continued to MOTIVATE and INSPIRE me to work harder and stick with this till the end!! I don't want to finish this challenge and say, "I did pretty good. Skipped some workouts, had a few cheat days, didn't try as hard as I could have." I want to finish this challenge and say, "I KICKED ASS!!" Even if it's my own haha! So thank you again for all of your support, and I couldn't have asked for a better group! Because of you, I am enjoying a DELICIOUS chocolate peanut butter shake, instead of Reese's peanut butter cups or chocolate peanut butter fudge. Way healthier and makes me feel sooo much better!! 😉 So thankful that I joined my first Challenge Group in December 2014 and haven't looked back since!! How I feel after today's workout 😂 Today I was feeling ambitious after taking a bunch of rest days due to travel and being sick so I tried @flyfeetrunning and it was amazing! It was challenging but now I feel amazing. The instructors were great! I was nervous to go because I'm not much of a runner anymore but it was more than running, we had a period on the floor of a circuit ofkettlebell swings, push ups, slurpees (I guess that's a thing and it's hard!), pull ups, and burpees. I'm totally coming back and I want to wear my heart rate monitor next time! #cardioishardio #mpls #classpass #athlete

Don't mind Joshua staring right at the camera by the way. That kid is a born photo model. 😂 The back patio is a mess. It's been raining all day. I probably yelled at my littles at least thirty times today #momguiltisreal But this moment. This made it all better. Danny surprised us by coming home from work early. We were outside playing to get an energy change and get some fresh air and it was COLD! I kept telling the kids we needed to go inside but they were having so much fun. They LOVE being outside. Then I saw Danny shoes appear in the sliding glass door and almost had a heart attack until I realized they were HIS shoes. 😂 He is such an incredible dad. He plays with these guys on every level and they both love him SO much. Reason number 327 that I love my husband. ❤and reason number ONE that I want to reach my goals with my coaching business--so he can be home full time and we can be a family that creates our own schedule, goes on trips, and finds joy in every moment. It's not selfish to want more. It's selfish not to use your gifts and reach for your highest potential! God didn't give us our talents, our gifts, and our jobs so we can just be content. He gives us all we have so we can improve our lives and the lives of those around us!

Flex Friday! 💪🏻 Upper body strength is something I've always struggled with. I've always dreaded "arm day" because I just don't have a lot of strength in that area. I'll squat all day long but make me do push ups and I'll cringe at the mere thought 🙈. Then I heard about 22 Minute Hard Corps and how it helps build upper body strength. So I bought the program! And I put it on a shelf for months. Then, on Thanksgiving Day, I mustered up the courage to start the program. I'm on week seven now and have noticed huge improvements in my strength! I'm doing real push ups on my toes instead of modified on my knees. I'm lifting heavier and powering through my reps better than ever before. If you had told me a few months ago that I would finally feel like I had strong arms, I wouldn't have believed you. But here I am! I've been working hard and it's definitely paying off. I have a long way to go but you guys, I'm so proud of myself! 😬💪🏻

Real diesel upper body sesh with my man, Mitch Longo @mitchlongo10 of the @Indians ------------------------------------------We have been getting after it 6 days/week for several months now, and I'm proud to say Mitch hasn't missed a session. In the minor leagues, there's no room for missed time in the gym and on the field. They both go hand in hand. Your body is your paycheck, so resiliency is the name of the game. As the season nears, we will begin our speed phase of training and back off a tad on pure strength stuff, but below is an example of an upper body day designed to keep laying on the strength and size where it matters all the while still moving like a high level athlete. Today we had Turkish getups, split stance banded single arm press, neutral grip ring pull-ups, side plank rows, wide stance anti-rotation chop, breathing push-ups with a reaching emphasis, manual resisted forearm work, chain curls, deadstop tricep extensions, and lots of unseen boring, but necessary mobility work. • It takes this kind of work day in and day out to have a chance at something great in a sport. People often don't realize the commitment to excellence that professional athletes must adopt to become the best, but here is a good example. • The offseason is a time to truly transform into something better. Some young athletes don't have an offseason, and never improve season to season as a result. You don't have to be a professional to have a professional attitude toward your training and commitment to daily improvement. Just realize that to be great, you must deserve to be great. There are no handouts in this game.

There is no better feeling then working for a work place that appricates you. Squats on squats on squats this week. Top: 5th set of 2 w/ 225. Still working on my stance and getting to depth with heavier weights. Even with the safetys on i get nervous squatting low without my training partner spotting me. ( #wheresdana) Then did a 7 min amrap of 10 pull ups (jumping) and 7 back squats w: 135. Making an exercise harder doesn't always mean that you have to add more weight. There's lots of techniques that can help you achieve your goals without the added load. This is one of the many reasons why I love @syattfitness programming from cluster sets to paused sets or this 1.5 rep scheme on the video which can all be incorporated to many moves. #trainsmarter #getstronger #getbetter

It's official, today is not my day! Here are just a couple shots that explain the day I've had. It took me 3️⃣ hours to leave the house this morning, I missed my workout, Kam was mad at me and pee'd all over herself and the car, I just wanted a little treat (too early for 🍷) so I had a snack size sour patch kids only to get all yellow 😞. I should've never left the house today. Any who I'm over it. God knew I needed a break so both kids are actually napping for once.
