Core stability dominates with the movement being driven by scooping the belly and engaging the core to lift the hips. . CLIENT SUCCESS STORY // Allow me to introduce one of my online female clients, Rach. # We've been working together for close to three months now, and it's been such a wonderful journey with lots of lessons learned. # ✅Total cm lost is closing on -30cm. ✅Energy levels and sleep are higher than ever. ✅She's openly admitted that she loves learning so much correct information. ✅She's gone from doing HIIT circuit classes that left her frustrated for not seeing any progress and results to lifting heavy weights four days per week. ✅Rach also now knows that she doesn't have to smash herself to see results. # In other words, Rach is freaking awesome. The majority of my online clients are females. Young, middle age and older 👉They're all looking for the same: # ✅Decrease body fat, ✅Get stronger and more confident, ✅Feel more energetic, # All of the above is fairy simple to achieve, but focus solely on the scales to look at changes in bodyweight as an indicator can be harmful. There are so many reasons as to why your body weight can fluctuate. # And, especially for women. I've found that communicating how the menstrual cycle influences weight has been a huge factor in creating strong habits for my female clients. # During ovulation (the release of the egg from the ovum) and often a week before ovulation, there are huge changes in the interaction between estrogen and progesterone, which in turn drives a lot of the underlying processes that can impact fluid retention, food intake (cravings!), energy expenditure, body temperature and more. # So, for roughly two weeks, it’s very likely that, even though you don’t “feel” like you’re getting your period, that your body has started the process and signs of fluid retention etc is starting to show in the form of increased weight as reflected by the scales. The above is hugely individual and I’m making general assumptions in this group. Throwback // When I first started training, I had just gotten injured and had to let go off my favourite sport. It was almost unbearable. I felt like all hope was gone but I found the iron. Through my teenage years I had lots of confidence issues and more, leading to very poor self worth and body image issues. But I knew one thing... I set out in this path to help other people not go through the daily challenges I had to face. # Mental and physical challenges debilitate us, and as much as I've got the humble honour of helping people through what I set out to do on a daily basis - I still have times where I doubt myself, what I'm capable of and why the hell I'm doing this. # But despite those times, there's something 🔥 inside me. That something that's impossible to see or explain, but you feel it - you KNOW it's there. # Training is tough. Results are slow. The challenges are many. But always remember, it's the tough times and how you consciously decide to deal with them - that makes you who you are. A few words on "detoxes" and "cleanses" inspired by @alex.viada's latest post on FB. The above is often demonised in the fitness world, and for the majority of people, it has been so for what would be good reasons. However, saying that detoxing is absolutely useless and doesn't serve a purpose at all, is kind of.... useless. Firstly, if people have hepatic issues, detoxing is a real thing. Secondly, what if the "detox" described by your client(s) made them feel good and gave them the motivation and drive needed to actually go after it? Let me give you an example I encounter on a monthly basis. Whether in person or online, the majority of my clients are female. And, with no judgment, I think it's fairly safe to say that detoxing and cleansing is more popular among females who are looking to 'tone up' than males who are looking to get jacked as fuck. Anyhow, all my female clients are, after our initial consultation, completely aware of the many nuances of detoxing and cleansing. But we still go ahead and do it. Why? Because it makes them feel good. They have plenty of energy, sleep better and feel like they're doing something for themselves. In their minds, it's the right thing to do. And as long as it doesn't come with any harm (I.e., seek medical clearance etc from doctors and more), it's just another way of letting someone take responsibility for their own health long term. When they feel better, they sleep better. When they sleep better, they make better choices in all aspects of life. When they make better choices, they most of the time assume responsibility. And that's the start of personal accountability for what they want to achieve. And all of this started with contextualising a demonised topic such as "detoxing and cleansing". Then, we've gotta keep contextualising what they do after they're done with their 'detoxing' to further facilitate healthy habits. Detoxing can be a scam. Detoxing can be a real thing. Detoxing can also be a description of 'eating less foods that make me feel shit' or 'what I need to get my mojo back'. #detoxing #cleanse #clientcare #health #workout #fitnessbrisbane #fitspo #performance #fatloss #weightloss

If you rely on caffeine and other stimulants to get through your workouts, you're doing something wrong. Sure, it's kinda nice to feel that tingling sensation that gives you that bit of an extra boost... But, if this is the only way you get through your workouts and days.... So proud of this kid. Not only has he consistently been training with me and my team for the past 5 months, but he's also made positive changes in his nutrition.
