Do you perform the leg press correctly? I've seen some big lifts on social media with a leg press. Many, simple don't impress me one bit because often they are simply for social media, not for any training purposes. I've trained athletes, weight loss, rehab & complete beginners from all walks of life. At any given stage for anyone, at some part of there journey through resistance training there has to be a focus on mobility & the understanding of what it brings long term. Structural issue: I can't fix Functional issue: It needs work & time but can be fixed. You don't need to be 100% mobile but if you can achieve it under resistance with no pain, you're in for a much improved lifestyle when it really matters. Mobility โ€ข Equals โ€ข Quality

The Hip Pivot One of the most frequently used positions in the gym & one of the most common mistakes I see on a regular basis. My post are directed at everybody wanting better control, posture, mind-muscle connection & better health. If I was talking to strength performance in the short term, I would bother with this unless they had some really bad habits & were not firing. You will see me "bounce" a little which is me breaking at the knees. Soft break at the knees so you can feel the shift in your weight. By shift in your weight, I mean you will be pushing your bum back from the hips which will shift your weight from your mid foot, into your heels. With your chest proud, drive your hips back & in the first example I keep my head up. I do this because most people do, so I wanted to show how I physically grab my chin & pull it down so I have a neutral spine position. Again, I'm more about posture, decreasing stress & managing health in the corporate world than much else. In the second clip, I show how I connect my chin & chest together with my index finger & thumb. Another technique to show how to produce a neutral spine. Smiling meditation has to be one of my all time faves, so for those unfamiliar I just have to share. Starting in a comfortable crossed legged position with your eyes gently closed. Bring your awareness to the base of your spine and smile at each internal organ as your awareness travels upwards. Smile with gratitude as you recognise and honour your liver, kidneys, digestive organs and heart. Take the time to find gratitude for each organ and how it allows your body to function. Softly curling up the corners of your mouth has this incredible way of lifting your mood, it doesn't have to be a physical smile, perhaps a feeling or visualisation. Remembering to always finish at the heart โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™

Kari watches your technique throughout the whole class to make sure your stance, elbows and punch are correct to gain for potential out of the class (no wasted energy!). Squat x 10 Step Up x 6 each Crunch x 20 X 2 Rounds = 1 Set Chose your own weights & keep tempo up & rest minimal. No training at all for 5 days whilst away in Nz, so this touched me up a bit. Went on to do a similar upper body workout of BB Bench, DB Incline Fly & Crunch to finish it off. Try the lower body one to start but be smart with your choice of weights. With balance being my most challenging aspect of asana practice, I am currently working on 'feeling light' during balancing poses. I find it particularly helpful in standing splits with hands on the ankle. In the past I would work on grounding down to feel stability, which didn't really work for me. Im noticing when I cultivate a sense of weightlessness it really shifts my fear of wobbling, through lightness I find ease and can hold for longer. So if you're like me and struggle with balance give it a try ๐Ÿ™โ˜บ๏ธ
