Frank Ntilikina joins a long list of people who is relieved that the Knicks didn’t trade Kristaps Porzingis on draft night. Ntilikina believes he can flourish with Porzingis. β€œWe’re both European,” Ntilikina said. β€œWe both have a good IQ and playing pick-and-roll with him will be great. I just know that I will play great with him.”

Derrick Rose is a unrestricted free agent Chris Paul declined his player option And Kyle Lowry declined his player option It's pretty much a race to see who signs with the Spurs and has a good money to talent ratio when competing for a contract. Let's say Kyle Lowry signs with the San Antonio Spurs. Derrick Rose will either go to the Knicks, Bucks or Timberwolves. I want to sign him back, but I want Frank Ntilikina to have the best opportunity to get better and develop as possible. I say it is very unlikely Phil Jackson resigns him, since he doesn't really fit the triangle and doesn't hustle on defense. So do you want Derrick Rose back? πŸ€”

With the third pick in the draft, the Knicks selected guard Ognjen Jaramaz from Serbia. From the looks of the draft (3 guards) we will not be resigning rose, but you never knowπŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ. I didn't really care about third pick because it was a 3rd round pick but after watching his highlights, I kinda think he could be a pretty good player. @knicksfeed

Part. 2: Just look at my last post and you will understand what the hell I am talking about. - Now, with pick number 7, I would be more okay with this trade if the Bulls took someone like Dennis Smith Jr., because he is a creator and someone who looks like he can run an offense. Just watching Lauri Markkanen and hearing people talking about him, makes me think that he can definitely be a good player offensively, but will have a lot of trouble being a player defensively. Just looking at what David Aldridge had to say on NBATV. It's seems like he could be pretty good contributor. But if you literally just traded away Jimmy Butler, I think you want a big difference maker and has star potential. Most people will tell you Dennis Smith Jr.'s upside is really high. Also, with him and Zach LaVine together, that could've been a really exciting backcourt. But you also gave away your 16th pick. For reasons I don't really understand. LaVine is about to get paid, and this is the Bulls attempt at a rebuild that didn't really turn out well, when you also have Wade's 24 million dollar contract, but at least he is a free agent in 2018. But if Kris Dunn comes out and becomes a solid starting point guard in the coming years, then I guess it works out. But I don't give him a chance of becoming a very good starter in the NBA. I guess they saw the opportunity to trade Jimmy Butler for some young piece and went with it. Outside of those guys, the crazy thing is that they could've kept Jimmy Butler, waived Rajon Rondo because only 3 million dollars of his contract is guaranteed which means they could've gotten 10 million dollars back in return from waiving him. Even with Dwyane Wades contract they would have had a lot of money left and signed a decent point guard like Jeff Teague or George Hill and built from there and tried to resign Jimmy Butler when his contract expires. Anyways I am done with this Bulls talk for today. Comment if you want more of this in the future with other situations around the league. Peace ✌🏻

1
@knicksfeed

Non-Knick related but I was thinking... - From a Bulls perspective, that trade wasn't good for them. I like Zach LaVine, but I don't like the fact he is coming off an injury and when you are acquiring a guy who was hurt, it's a big risk. He might not be as good when he comes back. But he probably will be because I don't picture one lower body injury affecting a players career. Also, with LaVine, he has one more year on his contract and then he is a unrestricted free agent in 2018. You know someone is going to throw some money at him, so right after trading Jimmy Butler, you are going to have to be paying Zach LaVine a decent amount of money like 15+ million plus or so. It's pretty weird from having a star player then trading him and starting a rebuild and immediately paying a guy as much money as Jimmy Butler is making, given that the salary cap is going up. But LaVine could have a bad season, based on the injury I was saying. Anyways he's pretty solid as a player right now. Now Kris Dunn, he's not that good, it's not like he is 19 years old, he's 23 years of age. Plus he wasn't good whatsoever in his rookie season. He averaged four points, 2.5 assists and wasn't efficient at all, while playing like 20 minutes a game throughout the entire season. I know a rookie isn't supposed to be a star player in his first season unless you are LeBron James or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and S/O to Wes Unseld for winning MVP in his rookie season too. πŸ‘πŸ» But you can have an idea of how good a player is in his first season as an NBA player. But since he is 23 years old, you expect him to have a better season then most. Like Malcolm Brogdon and Kris Dunn both played 4 years in college and Brogdon got picked in the second round and had an impact immediately. But now Chicago is banking on him to be their point guard of the future. It's seems like the Bulls organization has the inability to find Point guard talent now, I mean Cameron Payne, Jerian Grant isn't that good, same with MCW. Now you have Kris Dunn, they need to figure something out. He could take off for Chicago but it is unlikely to happen. I would've wrote more but Instagram only allows a certain amount of words. Bye πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

Get to know Damyean Dotson, the 44th overall pick by the Knicks. He's a 6'5" shooting guard from Houston. He's 23 years old, and averaged 17.4 PPG, 6.9 RPG, and 1.1 APG. Strengths: Length, great 3 point shooter, solid defender, great rebounder, good free throw shooter. Weaknesses: not a good shot creator - According to NBA.com, his comparison to a player in the NBA is Jonathon Simmons. Great pickup. (@vndsgn) (@wholeteamdot) at New York, New York

Sources told Ramona Shelburne and I that Noah’s name came up in multiple discussions about possible Porzingis trades with Jackson and the Knicks looking to send out the remainder of the four-year, $72 million contract that he signed last offseason. Butler factored in because one of the many offers discussed between Boston and the Knicks, per sources, included Boston’s third pick, a second 2017 lottery pick and an additional player (Jaylen Brown, Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart were among the names discussed).

The Knicks picked up Damyean Dotson with the 44th Pick in the NBA Draft. - Dotson, 6'5" shooting guard, averaged 17.4 PPG, 7 RPG, 1 APG, 47% FG, and a very impressive 44% from 3PT land, in which he made 3.4 out of 7.7 threes a game πŸ‘€ ESPN describes his positives as an "athletic wing, elite 3PT shooter, and a good rebounder for his position." His only negatives are "old for his class, and had off court issues." - Do you think that he can become a regular rotation player for the Knicks? I think this was at the least a good shot for them to take at pick 44, he seems like he could be a pretty good player. - (Shoutout to longtime supporter @Josh_Kobliner for making this mix for me!)

@knicks.central

What grade do you give the Knicks on the moves yesterday? Breakdown: - Frank was a great pick for us, because he addresses one of our biggest needs: defense at the point guard position. At only 18 years old, his wingspan and his athleticism shows how much potential he has. I thought this was a great pick for us. - Dotson is considered by many to be a steal. He was projected to go earlier, and it was surprising he was still there with the Knicks pick. He's a great shooter, and I think he fits in well with the offense. Definitely a great pickup. - Hayes to me is also a potential steal. MANY had him being drafted. The fact that he was undrafted and the Knicks picked him up was very rare. Glad to have him on the team, and I hope he dominates in the summer league. - I don't know much about Kornet so I don't really have a say on him. - I have no comment on the Serbian guard, I don't think he makes the final roster. I give the Knicks a B+, thought they could've gone for Kobi Simmons, but thought they took great players that will fit our system. at New York, New York

One thing to keep in mind with our new addition Frank Ntilikina β€” - Although he may surprise us in his first season, (like that Latvian did) don't be too critical of every little thing he does, don't be too quick to judge the whole career of a player based off their first shot at the NBA. You know why? Because he's eighteen years old. - The prime of a basketball player is when they're between about 25-27 to 31-33 years old. Frank won't be hitting his prime for another 8-9 years. Think about that for a second. He's a hard worker, 6'5", has all the raw skills to be a great player, and can only get better. Straight out the gates he brings defense, energy, and consistent shooting. This is at 18. Within the next 4 years, hopefully and expectedly his ball handling and finishing will improve greatly as he adapts to the NBA game, with the hard work and conditioning of being an NBA player his speed and agility will improve, and with the years of experience his basketball IQ will expand. At that point, he will be 22. Still 4-5 years away from his prime. - My goal of this is not trying to give you a guarantee that this kid is the next big thing, or in other terms he's gonna be a superstar β€” I'm just saying that there's a great chance he will be very good, especially for being the 8th pick in the draft. - Not even to compare skill sets, although a lot of people like to compare these two, but just as a career comparison, a guy like Giannis Antetokounmpo progressively averaged 7 points, 13 points, 17 points, and now 23 points in his first 4 years. Of course this is just points and not every stat, but its just an example, Giannis was an extremely raw talent first coming into the league, hence why he was picked with the 15th pick in a weak class. Look where he's at now, an untouchable (well, maybe not untouchable to Phil) superstar. - Best of Luck to "The French Freak"! (Hopefully you like that nickname, cause I'm using it lol)
