Blazers backcourt, Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum have reached out and spoken to Carmelo Anthony about possibly teaming up in Portland. They do believe he is interested and that there is a "real possibility" he comes to Portland.
Carmelo Anthony is not interested in waiving his NTC for the Portland Trail Blazers. He sees Houston as his likely destination in a trade. He also says he is not interested in a reincorporation into the organization, he wants out.
If Mills was the President on draft day, he still would have selected Frank Ntilikina with the 8th pick.
Mills said his first phone call in free agency was to Tim Hardaway Jr. They decided to "be aggressive" and believe he's a starting 2 guard. Mills justified paying Tim $71 million because they projected Hardaway to be a starting shooting guard.
Steve Mills says Knicks will build around KP, Hardaway, Hernangomez and Frank Ntilikina. No mention of Melo but says veterans are important.
The Knicks are planning to talk to Carmelo Anthony into expanding his list of teams that he is willing to waive his NTC for.
The New York Knicks have also shown some interest in former Kings and Nuggets PG Ty Lawson. •
Lawson, at 29 is still a very solid veteran PG. last season with the Kings he averaged 10pts 5asts 3rbs 1stl per game. These numbers aren't bad. Yes Lawson has had lost of off the court issues, but when on the court can really play. His best statistical season was with the Nuggets back in 2013 when he averaged about 17.6 ppg to go along with 8.8 apg. •
Would you like to see the Knicks make a run at him?
With Rondo gone, the Knicks continue to search for a vet or young PG. Some options they are considering other than Derrick Rose are, former Wizards PG Trey Burke and former Cavs PG Deron Williams. (Via: IanBegley)
Which PG would you rather have mentor Frank Ntilikina?

In order for this to happen, the Knicks will have to clear cap possibly trading Lance Thomas or Courtney Lee.
Peyton Manning roasting the Knicks 😂😂😂
With the Knicks recently resigning Ron Baker to a $9M contract, the Knicks have about 1 million left in cap. Should we trade Courtney Lee who is currently holding 11 million dollars of our salary?
I would. Hardaway is better and younger. Yes Hardaway doesn't have the defense. Lee is still very good and produced well on both ends. But his contract is 11 million and we could really use the money for next offseason. In my opinion, I think the Knicks would trade Courtney Lee at the trade deadline if he and THJ don't workout. We could really use the money. Thoughts?
The potential blockbuster Carmelo Anthony trade to the Houston Rockets is reportedly, "At the 2 yard line."
(Via: NYDaily News)
The trade could involve 4 teams or 3 teams. Teams that could be involved are Portland, Denver, Phoenix and obviously Houston and New York.
How many games to do think the Knicks will win next season? East got a lot easier and the Knicks got better in the offseason. •
In my opinion, I believe the Knicks will win about 40 games next season. Last season the Knicks won 31. I definitely see us winning at least 9 more. The team COULD honestly win close to 50, like 45. But do I think we'll win 50, he'll no. With the new offense and the emphasis on Kristaps Porzingis, this team COULD be a playoff team. (Via: @nyknickz)
Knicks and Rockets are very determined to make a deal happen. The Rockets are working on trade scenarios that includes 4-team trades.
How many points do you think Tim Hardaway Jr will score for us next season? Assuming he starts at SG.
I think his stats will look like about 15 points 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Not going too much into it because I am soon doing a full player breakdown and predictions for the next season .
Knicks officially resign G Ron Baker. The deal is worth $8.9M over the next 2 years with an added on player option.
Tim Hardaway Jr comments on high expectations after signing a huge $71M contract. Says he is ready for this new challenge.
Here are your New York Knicks of the future! We all should be excited for the future, no matter how much money we gave THJ. KP has the potential to be a future superstar, Ntilikina has the potential to be a defensive and offensive star, Willy had the potential to be a consistent double double machine, and Dotson has the Potential to be a solid 3nD guy. Let's hope for the best! 🔷🔶
Hardaway on Melo: "We definitely want him back. No question." Says he understands though that Melo needs to do what's best for his family
Carmelo Anthony is confident that a deal will get done soon and that he will be a Houston Rocket. The trade is almost set in stone and looks like Carmelo Anthony will be a Houston Rocket in a few days. The trade will involved NYK, the Rockets and Portland. The Knicks will probably receive F Maurice Harkless in the deal.
Thank you all for 3 thousand followers! Truly means a lot from the best fans in the NBA. That much closer to that 10k goal!
"The bond between mentor and protege enables us to stay true to our chosen path." #StayMe7o #TheJourneyContinuesForYou
-Carmelo Anthony tweet towards Tim Hardaway Jr in 2015.
A few days ago @wallyball10 commented on the Carmelo Anthony situation. I completely agree with his points. Houston and Cleveland need to get this done. It's obvious he going to get traded to one of the teams. This needs to happen now so that the Knicks to go in a different direction and rebuild. They simply can't rebuild with Melo on the team. Come on @houstonrockets @cavs
David Griffin and the Knicks have moved closer and closer on negotiations talks. Griffin and Mills had dinner last Friday and. If Griffin was hired, Mills would move to President of Basketball Operations and David Griffin would be at the General Manager position in place of Mills.
Good things Griffin had done:
-Traded for Kevin Love completing a big 3.
-Traded for Kyle Korver
-Traded for Jr Smith/Iman Shumpert
Bad things Griffin had done:
-Traded Dion Waiters.
-Traded Tyus Jones for Rakeem Christmas and Cedi Osman
Houston Rockets turning "full attention" in acquiring SF Carmelo Anthony.
Houston recently locked James Harden up to a super 4 year $228M deal. After, they are now all in for a Melo trade. A 3rd team would have to be involved. Some teams to note are Portland, Denver, Indian. As of right now, the Blazers seem to be the most talked. Knicks would probably receive Maurice Harkless/Myles Leonard. This trade could happen as soon as today.
Seems like the end is near. Very near for the Carmelo Anthony era in NY. Looks like the Knicks are fully committed to the future and this is why they want to part ways with Carmelo. If today is the last day he's a Knick, wow, Thank You @carmeloanthony
The Knicks now envision a core lineup consisting of Frank Ntilikina, Tim Hardaway Jr, Kristaps Porzingis and Willy Hernangomez.
Knicks are now focused on their future. Note that Carmelo Anthony was left off. Looks like he will be traded soon.
The Atlanta Hawks have decided not to match the 4yr $71M offer sheet for Tim Hardaway Jr. This means he will be heading to the Knicks!
Welcome back to NYK @timmyjr10!!
Official: Frank Ntilikina will wear #11
Knicks have waived center Marshall Plumlee for cap space.
The Dallas Mavericks are "serious contenders" for Derrick Rose.
(Via: NY Post)
What will Willy Hernangomez's season stat like look like?
O'Quinn on Phil firing: "..Not saying Phil was negative but something had to be done to make the situation be a little more at ease."
Hey @Celtics, I heard you're trying to free some cap. Remember back, the offer Melo for Jae and some picks??? Hit us up when you can, we'll be interested. •
But for real, would you guys be fond of us trading Carmelo for Crowder and extra picks? •
Boston is going to move either Bradley, Smart or Crowder, and it's obviously Jae. Crowder has shown his frustration with the team through out the season. Ranting on twitter about Gordon Hayward chants, liking tweets about trade rumors, bashing the fans. Ever since the Hayward talks started, Crowder started to get angry and didn't like the idea of himself getting replaced. A Melo for Crowder traded would be difficult as Boston needs go free cal. They would have to add lots of pieces and be committed to Carmelo. Knicks were interested in Crowder a few months ago but the C's weren't interested in Melo.
Clippers to meet with PG Derrick Rose. (Via: Woj)
The New York Knicks have been in contract talks with former Miami Heat SG Dion Waiters.
Waiters, who stands at 6'4, had his best season of his career last season with the Heat. This is mainly because he got the starting role, as in OKC and Cleveland he was the backup. Waiters averaged about 16 points 4 assists and 3 rebounds. He had many 30+ point games showing off his offensive power which the Knicks are interested in.
Waiter will probably ask for about $15-20M per year. After the season he had, Waiter probably views himself higher because of his recent play. This is why he'll ask for $15-20M. (Via: Ramona Shelbourne)
Knicks have reached out to Spurs RFA Jonathon Simmons, league sources say. Simmons is in active talks with 2 teams, per sources.
The Knicks have a deal with a guard. They will announce the signing later tonight.
Rumors are it is between Derrick Rose and Sheldon Mackz Some names to look out for is former Heat Dion Waiters, Former Bull Rajon Rondo, Former Jazz Shelvin Mack, Former King Darren Collison, and Former Knick Derrick Rose.
If the signing was Dion Waiter, this would mean Gordon Hayward has informed the Heat that he will be signing there, who then told Dion.
Knicks announce they are signing undrafted rookie, Luke Kornet to a Two-Way contract.
In the 3 Summer League game the Knicks have played, Kornet, a 7'1 big, has shown lots of upside in his game. Shooting the 3 pointer well and overall scoring he ball well. The Knicks have certainly been impressed with his play so far.
Frank Ntilikina will not play today against the OKC Thunder. This is Ntilikina 3rd straight missed game. Unknown if he will suit up for the next game against Orlando.
Carmelo Anthony is now open to waiving his NTC in order to sign with the Rockets or Cavs.
Just a very small glimpse. Am sure the player is around, probably in its original box! .......

Now former Knick, Justin Holiday has signed a 2yr $9M deal with the Chicago Bulls. Holiday was apart of the bulls Bulls in the 2015-16 season, and is now returning to them, surprisingly.
According to Ian Begly, the Knicks never made a competitive offer to Justin to retain him. Wow, just a shame. This shows a lot about our team and our staff
Good luck in Chicago Justin! Thanks for all you've done for us. Even though it was a terrible season, you still provided us Knick fans excitement off the bench. Really wish you would have stayed but it's a business. Thanks @justholla7
If I'm the Knicks I'm calling David Griffin. Then hiring Mark Jackson, this move would move Hornacek to Assistant coach. Mark Jackson and Griffin would get the job done. I'd really like the idea of Griffin with us.
We all right now should be proud and appreciative of what Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis have done. Carmelo delt 3 years a with Phil. Criticism non stop. Trade rumors, non stop. Felt like it wouldn't end. KP recently, dealt with trade rumors non stop for days. Phil put too much pressure on KP. Now that's all gone. Thank you @carmeloanthony @kporzee
The Knicks are open to trading Courtney Lee to get rid of his contract. Right now he is getting payed $11M a year. They are also looking to trade OQuinn.
NY's 2nd Summer League game kicks off at 1pm est against the Detroit Pistons!
Frank will not play yet again due to his nagging knee injury suffered in France. Note there is a chance he plays in their next game on Mondo against OKC.
Jeff Hornacek plans to make Kristaps Porzingis the number 1 option in the offense this upcoming season.
Knicks and Dion Waiters have shown interest in each other. This signing is only realistic if Gordon Hayward signs with the Heat.
It is very likely the Knicks will sign Suns big man, Alan Williams. Williams is a restricted FA. The Suns won't be able to match bc of their desires in other FA's.
Alan Williams is 24 is a very solid back up PF. He stands at only 6'7 so playing center would put him at a disadvantage. His strengths are rebounding and defending. He is not known for his scoring but can produce some under our offense. He averaged 11 points and 9 rebounds post Allstar break for the Suns.
Knicks have reached out to both Rondo and Collison.
The Knicks have reached out to free agent point guard Derrick Rose, per league sources. Per ESPN's Jeff Goodman, Rose is a serious option for the Knicks at this point because they are looking for a point guard and many of the top PGs are not on the board.
Sources: George Hill, Spurs discussions broke off. Denver and New York have so far made initial contact with Hill, one of top PGs on market.
The Knicks have abandoned their hopes of meeting with Jeff Teague, league sources say, convinced Teague has already committed to Minnesota.
Derrick Rose is reportedly, "A long shot" to return to the Knicks.
Frank Ntilikina is doubtful for Saturday's Summer League game against the Dallas Mavericks. (knee)
Knicks will pass on Masai Ujiri due to the cost of acquiring him. Look out for David Griffin as we wouldn't have to give up any picks for him.
Little late but, FREE ATLAST!
With rumors of Jeff Hornacek getting fired, it's very obvious that the Knicks should target former Warrior HC, and former Knick legend, Mark Jackson. Jackson turned the Warriors into the team they are today. A defensive minded team. Jackson would change our team around. This should be a no brained.
OKC's San Presti has now become a candidate for the Knicks job.
The Knicks are expected to extend the qualifying offer to Ron Baker making him a RFA. This will most likely lead to his being resigned.
When listing his favorite cities to visit, Blake Griffin New York as number 1. He praised New York and MSG.
What do you guys think about the possibility of Blake Griffin being a Knick?
A few months ago I made a post about Jeff Teague. Before he got traded to the Pacers, he wanted to play for us. But was hesitant because he did not like the triangle. It's gone now.
Now there is interest from both sides as free agency is right around the corner.
Teague is 29 years old and is still a solid PG. A pass first PG who can shoot decently and is a good defender. Sounds like he fits.
Would you let Rose walk and sign Teague?
Phil Jackson was preparing to give Carmelo Anthony the buy-out he was rumors to want. Wow
James Dolan completely disagreed. He had had enough with Phil, which ultimately lead to the firing. Yes Dolan is the good guy, well for now.
BREAKING NEWS! The Knicks have parted ways with Phil Jackson today. Yes everyone, he's been fired!
I cannot explain how I feel right now. Finally! At last we don't worry about the triangle. No more drama. FULL FUTURE! SCREW PHIL! LETS GO KNICKS!!!!!
NYK has "legitimate" interest in resigning Derrick Rose once Free Agency begins.
Rose is still just only 28 years old and just came off his best statistical season since his first injury in the 2011 1st round playoffs. Rose put up 18ppg 4apg 4rpg. Rose turns 29 in October.
Rose was also rumored to take a pay cut in order to remain with the team. NYK would not sign Rose to the max as they are still uncertain if Rose will stay long term with the team. Rose is set to be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career on July 1st.
Throwback to this game against the Kings were Knick fans torched Matt Barnes with a "Derek Fisher" chant.
BTW: Barnes was arrested after this game...
Congrats to Russell Westbrook for winning the 2016-17 NBA MVP!
Still the best PG in my eyes. Averaging a Trip Dub??? 30-10-10 that's un heard of. What a year for him, also just had a son recently, Congrats to the Brodie.
We got something special with these guys. Cannot wait until they both hit their respected primes. If KP and Willy can fix up their weaknesses (fouling, strength, consistency) they'll be stars fast. Let's hope for the best! 🔷🔶🦄🔶🔷
Congrats to @willyhernangomez on being named to the All-Rookie 1st team!
You can get rid of one of these terrible managers. Who is it?
Non stop work for @Frank_Ntilikina
Here's Dotson shooting. He can shoot the ball and that is obvious. Hopefully he can serve a Ron Baker role for the upcoming season.
Summer League roster looking really good this year. Might be out best yet. Willy, Kuz, Randle, Plumlee, Baker are the vets. Frank, Artis, Dotson, Barry are the rooks.
