They say you are the sum of the 5 people you hang out with... A great mindset tip I got this week was to "surround" yourself with people that are 20x ahead of you... and in places you wanna be. I asked how to do that, and Nyi suggested doing an inventory of the 5 senses: 1) see-tv, instagram, YouTube.. watch them . 2)audio-podcasts, habits, music 3)taste-eat like them, think about their mindsets towards eating. 4)smell-incents,candles/good smells (in general) 5)touch-well, couldn't really do this one, but I thought of the idea of wearing their clothing brands, sporting a keychain, etc. The past few months I've grown to become a huge @emilyhaydenfitness fan. She's a @1stphorm athlete and overall badass. I love her lifestyle, attitude, mindset, work ethic.. and the things she's doing. Thank you Emily for the inspiration! Well now that the insane carb splurge over the last 36 hours is over its time get right back on track tomorrow. So yes, even though I completely blew my diet outta the water the last day and a half I am not making any drastic changes tomorrow. No fasting, no calorie lowering, no crazy cardio session, no pity party because I enjoyed food. When you have been on point with your diet and then have a small hiccup just get right back to what you were doing beforehand. Yeah you may be a bit bloated and FEEL like you put on 10 lbs but just give it a few days and you feel just fine. In the meantime stay on top of your water game and enjoy some kickass workouts with those extra carbs like I just did tonight. Melbourne post: sister cafe to my favourite cafe @monkbodhidharma (which I visited on Saturday) this is the Umami Mushrooms from @admiralchengho. Thyme and chilli roasted mushrooms, grilled polenta bread, shiitake soy cream and chilli oil. Love these cafes as they are garlic and onion free and plant based! Most people would call this a "cheat meal"...however, I call this "lunch" • So why can I eat this and still maintain the physique I am aiming for #guiltfree?? One word my friends... -SCIENCE • Macros or macronutrients are fats, proteins and carbohydrates. These are what make up our daily calories. 1g of fat=9kcal 1g of protein=4kcal 1g of carbs =9kcal Simply put...our bodies each individually need a certain amount of each macronutrient daily in order to maintain the function our lives demand of us. These are completely different for every person and absolutely crucial to attaining fitness goals, mental clarity, energy, mood stability etc. So the science? Our bodies do not recognize a carb from a piece of broccoli any differently than a carb from a bite of a doughnut. It just recognizes the carb and uses it where it needs to be used. This is something I will Vlog and explain much more in depth , but in a nutshell...you can eat what you want to eat, as long as you are meeting YOUR bodies personal macronutrient needs every day. Consistently. Meaning your "diet" is 100% non-restrictive. And you can still crush your goals. Tonight's dinner! 3.5 oz of sirloin cooked on the grill with salt and pepper with some grilled red onion. Mixed veggies of broccoli, cauliflower, yellow carrot, orange carrot, mushroom, and yellow squash roasted with some olive oil and salt/pepper. 1 cup of low carb pasta with home made red sauce (fresh cherry tomatoes from the garden, garlic, olive oil, salt/pepoer), and 1/4 cup of fat free mozzarella cheese on top. No picture could do this granola justice. It has the same crunch as the clustery goodness you’d pour out of a box while combining the 3 best flavours of all time... chocolate and peanut butter! . Ingredients: •90 g (1 cup) uncooked large flake oatmeal •18 g (1/2 scoop) @musclepharm whey powder (Could easily increase this to 35 g to up the protein content 💪🏼) •30 mL unsweetened cashew milk or water •15 g all natural peanut butter •pinch salt, splash vanilla extract •stevia to taste (I used 1 dropper full) . Method 👩‍🍳 1️⃣Preheat oven to 350. 2️⃣Combine all ingredients (except peanut butter) in a large bowl. The mixture should be thick and able to hold together. 3️⃣Stir in the peanut butter. 4️⃣Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the granola mixture onto the pan and break into little clusters. 5️⃣Bake for 18 minutes, shuffling the granola every 5 minutes so that it crisps all the way through. 6️⃣Enjoy with milk of choice (I’d drizzle additional PB on there) or on it’s own!

New snack obsession 😍 Hands up if you've ever taken a piece of mango off a fruit platter only to realise it's actually papaya 🙋🏻 Nothing more disappointing 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 BUT what if I told you that papaya is actually loaded with nutrients and can greatly improve your digestive function 👍🏼 Papaya contains an enzyme called 'papain' which helps our bodies to break down various types of food, particularly meat 🍴It's also packed with fibre and has a high water content, so it will get even the most sluggish bowels moving in no time ⏰ I've topped my papaya with cinnamon for a bit of sweetness, some mixed nuts and seeds for some protein and a handful of buckwheat kernels for some crunch 😋 What's your current snack obsession??
