Buddy had fun rearranging all the logs, jumping off anything & having running races. Then he was happily reunited with his big bro & they were off on another adventure together. The human deadlift centipede πŸ˜‚ checking my form with 70kg (red) 80kg (black) 90kg (green). It's been a long time since I've practiced deadlifts regularly. I love to deadlift, you will too if you don't already have them as part of your training. My favourite tip to help with deadlifts, is to push the floor away with your feet/heels as you stand up. We must have better treatment! Hrmmmmmm, heres an idea, mabye provide movement patterning improvement and strengthening so that the risk of ACL injuries is minimised? Yes its possible to significantly reduce the risk. Heres how: Step 1: Get a movement assessment done by a competent personal trainer/ coach. Step 2: based on the results work together to develop a movement improvement program Step 3: Strengthen the movements so that they dont go back to the old habits. Be proactive, dont wait for injury. " πŸ™Šβ˜• I really want to talk about something that's close to home for me; pre - diabetes πŸ™ƒ I am pre diabetic and sometimes (even though I am not actually diabetic) it really takes its toll. For those who don't quite know, pre diabetes is like getting the symptoms of diabetes, but not actually being diabetic. (Some prediabetics dont get any symptoms at all) Missing a meal in the morning, means the rest of the day will be pretty shit. Sometimes, even the week will be pretty up and down. My brains constantly on the go and not being able to do anything because I have no energy, at all, sucks. Moving off the lounge can be a struggle when this happens. Then, I get times where not even my brain functions properly and all I can do is sleep. 😴 If my sugar is low, my mood changes almost instantaneously, and it's almost uncontrolable. I get grumpy and just want to sit down and eat until my sugar is at a normal level again. I am writing about it because, remotely understanding pre-diabetes or diabetes can be a chanllenge. I don't even understand it sometimes... or most times. But it's impotant more people research it, learn about diabetes itself and how it affects people and what some pre diabetics and all diabetics go through to keep their sugar levels in a normal range. Who are you inspiring today? Today I have our little man Buddy with me while Meatball is at Kindy. He becomes my partner in crime. Some things in the day are all about him - age appropriate learning through play. Others are about us bonding without the competition & different dynamic that big brother Meatball brings. Then there are the things I just need to get done that he comes along for the ride. I am trying to stay committed during the F45 8 Week Define Challenge to 4 training sessions a week. We are in the final week & I've achieved a this goal 7/8 weeks which I'm happy with. Buddy is a little copy cat. It's how we learn from each other. He decided he wanted to train with me today. We did some kettlebell squats as shown in the video. Buddy turned 2 in January & weighs under 16kg. He also broke his collarbone under a month ago. Here he lifts a 6kg kettlebell while smiling. That's over 30% of his body weight! I was reassured by F45er & emergency nurse @kim_klaver that he wouldn't do it if his collarbone hurt. Great work little beast! Going to train is a normal part of our day. So is eating a healthy, balanced diet. We still have fish & chips. We still have lollies at parties. We just eat well the majority of the time. Normalisation of healthy habits is a great way to encourage a lifestyle of health for our boys. Now let's go smash some sushi train little legend. Thanks to coach @clintvandijken for the πŸ“·

❀️ S E L F L O V E ❀️ Lately I have found myself constantly body bashing my own body. My arms are too fat, bum too small, tummy has too much extra skin, boobs are too saggy blah blah blah. I don't look at other women this way. In fact quite the opposite. If someone a little bigger is wearing a bikini I think "good on her she looks bloody amazing." Why can't I apply that same thinking to myself? Why do we not see ourselves the way others do and why do we have to be so critical?!?! This body of mine has grown and housed 2 human beings. It has collectively breastfed for 2 whole years (no wonder they sag). I put on 20kg while pregnant and worked my damn ass off to get to the shape and size I currently am and I'm still critical of myself. TODAY I SAY F**K IT. I'm pretty awesome. A woman's body is honestly one of the most amazing creations and capable of so much. In terms of what I put into my body, I treat it with so much respect. I eat wholesome, clean food 95% of the time. I avoid additives and preservatives and even try not to use creams/cosmetics etc with any nasty chemicals in it. I am healthy, I am happy and I am blessed with a lot of things. F**k the body issues. Ain't nobody got time for that. It's a work in progress I know but I'm sure I'm not the only that feels this way. Let's work together to be the confident, amazing human beings we were born to be ✌🏽❀️😊
