#RiseAndGrind. #SaturdayTurnUp. Honestly hit snooze like 2 times this morning as I just wasn't feeling it and just wanted to sleep... but after 2nd snooze I was like #TiredIsNotAnExcuse #RestLater so I got up and got dressed. The schedule called for 12 easy miles @ 10:30pace... so I was like that's doable #JustDoIt. Got lost along the route (a few times ๐Ÿ™„) and after that the last 3miles I was #FeelingMyself so went in for a #ProgressionRun for the last 3 #FinishStrong #iDidIt and more (gym grind right after for 30 mins upper body sculpt) . . I gave them a class full of balance challenges today. I told them I WANT them to fail. Allow themselves to fall. Because THAT'S how you know you're trying. That's how you know you're putting in 100% effort. We learn from our failures. We allow ourselves to fail, without judgement, then we allow ourselves to get back up stronger and better. Take the lesson, reassess and get back at it. In our meditation at the end, they grounded themselves and reframed a past failure to a lesson. Find your strength. If you're crunched for time compound exercises are the way to go!! It allows you the opportunity to work multiple muscle groups with one move. There are many different varieties of moves you can do, here's one we did today in my class using a medicine ball instead of a dumbbell. Try this move 8-10 reps 3x.

Today I stopped caring. I stopped to giving a damn. I stopped giving a f***. Whatever language suits you... that's what I did! ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ I finished teaching Spinning class then I went into a room at the gym to complete a workout from the program I committed to on Monday. There were a bunch of guys in there. Some were doing their own thing, others were working with a trainer. The old Kelly would have thought to herself, "woah. Too many people. Too many guys. I can't be the only girl in there. Especially with a trainer? Oh, no way. He'll think I look dumb. It's okay... I taught Spinning this morning. That's good enough, really. Maybe this was a bad week to start that program anyway." Can you say Panic Mode?! ๐ŸšจOne small doubt about myself would have cause me to spiral down the path of basically just quitting my program. But the Kelly that showed up today is the Kelly that I want to show up everyday. Strong, committed and caring less and less about what other people think of me. When we have big goals and when we decide to FINALLY put ourselves and our health first is when the shifts happen. It's when we get results. Sometimes those results are way more massive than the number of the scale or the way we fit into our clothes. Sometimes those results are in the way we show up to the world in the small things we do daily. I'm not going to let how silly I think others might think I look slow me down. That's not my business. It's not my business to worry about what people think of me. It's my business to do what I need to do to feel my best each day. Doing that will help me show up better for YOU... and for my family, and for my friends. Today I decided to show up differently. I think I'm going to try to do that again! ๐Ÿ˜‰ How about you?

Arm day and if you know me it's my least focused on area. I have challenged myself to 1) focus more on my arms 2) to do this last move for 1 minute 3) to simultaneously curl a certain weight 12x by the end of the summer. When I look in the mirror I KNOW my biggest competition is MYSELF!! I will NOT be defeated.

I've been loving reading this book with my challenge group this month! This morning's chapter was called "What are you waiting for?" and it pointed out that we always think we should wait until we FEEL like doing something hard, but that's not ever going to happen. Our brains are wired to protect us and keep us safe, so they will try and talk us out of doing anything that will push us out of our comfort zone. ๐Ÿค” This brought back a memory of when I was about 8 years old and taking swimming lessons. We were supposed to jump off the diving board in the deep end and swim to the side, but I was scared because that water was waaaay over my head! ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ’ง I remember standing on the end of the board for what seemed like forever, feeling the sandpaper surface under my feet as I tried to get up the courage. I tried to turn back and told my teacher I had a stomachache but she wasn't having any of my excuses! So finally I screwed up the courage and just jumped. And I LOVED it, and did it many more times during those swim lessons. ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ˜ When something scares us, that's a sign that there's an opportunity for growth. This morning caught Team Beyond Boardshorts at the start of the 6hr. Kiteboarding 4 Cancer team relay race in Hood River where they were invited to represent all windsurfers. @poor_tyson was leading all kites for 4 laps then I booked it to Portland to watch @hooptie race the Scratch Race on the Alpenrose Velodrome where he took the front with 3 laps to go and held off the field until the last lap!!! Got my knee sleeves in the mail...and was so EXCITED to try the out today! They felt sooo great! No knee pain. And I was able to squat so much lower with weight, and hit a NEW PR on Squats--135lbs. โญ๏ธ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผโญ๏ธ Might not be a lot for others but for me it was a huge accomplishment.
