#workoutwednesday @abfitclub. Here's one of my biggest tips for someone that's gotten to a certain level of fitness or weight loss or basically anything in life but feels stuck. Get outside of your comfort zone and work there. I'm still fighting back from a serious neck injury that left me unable to push anything on my right side and keep me awake in pain at night for months. How do you get back from that? Work on weakness, find those things you are not good at and do work. Coach Chris Hinshaw said something that really made it all make sense. I'm paraphrasing, but basically as a coach you look for those weak areas that can be improved on. There's where improvement happens. We get stuck training and doing only the things we are good at. Why? Here's a clip from part of my Power/Endurance session yesterday from the KettleBell StrongMan program that kicks off next week. This was the following. - 6 x Windmill AnyHow pickups (3R/3L) 1 x Weighted Pushup 30 second Weighted plank (same weight as Pushup) - Didn't have anybody to load plates up for me on the Pushup so just used a band. I warmed up to 3 working sets with a 70 # bell for the support and a 53 # bell for the pickup. "Well, guess that means we won..." - Had an awesome time today competing with my old friend @cschaalo. I've known chris for years now and going into a event just to have fun was what I needed after a long week. And then after nearly a year off from competing at an event these two old dogs took home some gold. - Very happy to get to be part of my friend @jessebifano event this year. I was able to lift overhead for the first time in awhile and found out me and Chris are good at throwing stuff high in the air. Big thank you to @theuncommonbreed for supporting me in my pursuits in aiding in getting better mental health awareness out to people and when I also decide to step out and do a little lifting of my own. Sweaty and smiling. Did a circuit today for metabolism boost- it kicked my ass quick! You do each movement without rest in between- 1 min each for the first round w/ 1 min rest, followed by 45 sec and finally 30 sec. I'll do this again and again for sure, working on more reps and then to heavier weights for the movements. #kettlebell #conditioning #slangiron #crossfit #sweat

Finally got to the new @reebok nano 7 weave. Totally feels different than the originals, the heel still feels the same I feel more response in the mid foot, but it could just be the difference from one pair to the next. The upper is super flexible and feels far improved. Do they compare to my favorite nano the 6.0? Knocked out a 3 Rep sandbag TGU effort yesterday at 185 #s during my Strength day on the new KettleBell Strongman program. - The program has a focus on KettleBells but also includes additional sandbag, yoke and sled work as well some old school lifts that pop up in the training. - Having a variety of KettleBell and sandbag weights helps a lot with this program. Everything else can be rigged up pretty easy with a little imagination. @kettlebellkings has some great adjustable bells if your looking to add some more weights to your collection but are low on space. - I couldnt fit all three reps in this video but you can see I return to the ground stop but don't lay completely flat. This was to keep tension on my body during the three rep effort. Dropping back flat with a longer bag can get sloppy when the bag hits the ground behind you. With smaller bags you can lay yourself all the way back but it's not really a make or break. All the workouts can be done with light loads so you're not hindered by only having lighter Dumbbells. When your son brings you a s'more as you're cooling down you don't say no. Wife took some pics of my stone tosses too. The workout was slow but I focused on good movement, especially the OH squat. Scaled it to just the bar to get my form right. Strength odd ice work done with two cinder blocks. Conditioning: 5 RDS took me 18:05. 10 OHS @45 #, 10 burpees, and 10 stone throws in place of wall balls. That program will become avialble next week and its a lot to list out in a post so if your looking for something to get after here is a little work piece I did a few weeks back thats a real kick in the pills. - 100 Unbroken Swings @ 106 #s 2 Minute Light Active Recovery SkiErg for cals 15 Pushups 75 Unbroken Swings @ 70 #s 2 Minute Moderate Active Recovery SkiErg beat previous Cals 15 Pushups 50 Unbroken Swings @ 53 #s 2 Minute High Active Recovery SkiErg beat previous Cals 15 Pushups 25 Unbroken Swings @ 35 #s MAX EFFORT 2 Minute SkieErg for Cals 15 Pushups - If you dont have a SkieErg you can just use a rower if you like. The intensity in the piece should flip from the swings to the Cals efforts by then end. This means picks a weight for that first set of swings that is gonna challenge you and then hold on. Those last two minutes get REAL on the Erg, just sell out cause your done after. First workout in a few weeks. The alarm has been set and ignored many mornings. I've felt terrible and lethargic during the days. I almost skipped this one too. The excuses were there. But I made the choice. Squats based on 1rm front squats. Sets of 3@ 135,160,170,180, and then 20@190 #. Conditioning: 13:03 for 3 RDS of 500m row, 12 DKB Russian swings with 53 # bells, and 21 box jumps. Aux: 3 RDS 3x dkb bench clean, 5x dkb bench squats, and 20 banded air squats. Done with 2x44 # kb. The squats felt good, even the 20 rep set but it was a mental battle. Didn't have a single bell heavy enough for the American swings at 1/3 bodyweight so went heavy with the 53s and did Russian swings instead. Rolled into Portland yesterday and got out the sandbag to get some moving in. Did the following. - 5 Rounds - 10 clean and jerks 10 Pushups - Don't ever take your hands off the bag, keep it Unbroken. Well @kaylor.hasbargen the hays in the barn buddy. - I've been lucky enough to work with Kaylor for awhile now. And while I've had some Jerry Maquire "Help me, Help you" moments when I get texts like "I did 100 Thrusters for time yesterday, almost got it unbroken" and I shake my head.
