Another reason why May is a great time for visiting the Khutzeymateen is that it us mating season. There is plenty of activity going on as males compete with each other and vie for the attention of females. Join us on a photo adventure this May. Photo by @reardon1991 Our tented camp in the central Serengeti was a magnet for hyenas. The spotted hyena is a highly successful animal, being the most common large carnivore in Africa. Its success is due in part to its adaptability and opportunism; it is primarily a hunter but may also scavenge, with the capacity to eat and digest skin, bone and other animal waste. #exploreafrica #tanzania #safari #serengeti #hyena #WildlifePlanet #wildlifephotography

Traveling to Svalbard is as unique as it is rewarding but with an option between a winter and summer expedition to the Norwegian island, which one would be ideal for you? ORYX in partnership with @wildphototravel are able to offer nature photographers a unique opportunity to travel to Svalbard at either time of the year – it all depends on what your photographic goals are! ••••••••• Winter in Svalbard is an extraordinary photo experience. The main focus on this expedition will be Arctic winter light, landscape and wildlife. During the months of March and April, the lighting conditions on Svalbard are just magical with soft, pastel shades of orange, pink and blue that bathe the landscape in an otherworldly light that that is indescribable. Expect to come in contact with walruses, seals, artic fox, reindeer and seabirds returning to their breeding grounds. Although Polar bears are not as numerous as in summer time because there is more ice to hide on in winter, April is peak breeding time for them. ••••••••• A summer photo expedition in Svalbard means that the ice has melted sufficiently to allow ships to navigate the area thoroughly, which means that this is the best time for wildlife viewing in Svalbard. It is highly regarded as the best place on earth to photograph Polar bears but nature lovers are in for a treat as numerous other native species such as walruses, bearded seals, ringed seals, humpback whales, fin whales, blue whales, belugas, artic fox and seabirds are also in abundance. ••••••••••• Whatever your goals as a photographer, Svalbard is a phenomenal photo experience that very few photographers have had the pleasure of experiencing. If you are looking for something different and exciting, this is the expedition for you! •••••••• Contact info@oryxphotography.com for more information and full expedition itineraries and rates. •••••••••• Image copyright Ole Jørgen Liodden (@ojlwildphoto) ••••••••• #Svalbard #articfox #oryxphotography #oryxdedicatedtoyou #photosafari #wildlifephotography

March 2016, Kaziranga National Park: The great hornbill/ great Indian hornbill/ great pied hornbill, is one of the larger members of the hornbill family. It is found in South and Southeast Asia. Its impressive size and colour have made it important in many tribal cultures and rituals. The great hornbill is long-lived, living for nearly 50 years in captivity. It is predominantly frugivorous, but is an opportunist and will prey on small mammals, reptiles and birds. The great hornbill is the state bird of Chin State in Myanmar, and of Kerala and Arunachal in India. A great hornbill called William (pictured) was the model for the logo of the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) and the name of their building. #Indianwildlife #outlooktraveller #lonelyplanet #lonelyplanetmagazineindia #world_wildlife #wildlife #wildlifeplanet #wildlifeonearth #birds #birdsofinstagram #hornbill #indianhornbill #piedhornbill #amitvyasphotography #studiowild #natgeowild #natgeoyourshot #igscwildlife #wildlifephotographer #wildlifephotography @natgeo @natgeowild @natgeoyourshot @igscwildlife @thephotosociety @sanctuaryasia @lonelyplanetindia @lonelyplanetmagazineindia #bnhsindia

After some reading and asking around, this is definitely an Oriental Honey Buzzard Adult male (Pale Morph). It can be ID by the dark terminal tail band, red eyes and grey head whereas the juveniles have more barred on their underwings and the black on their tail band are more equal. #sgwildlife #raptor #raptors #eagle #eagles #raptorsofinstagram #eaglesofinstagram #orientalhoneybuzzard #allmightybirds #igbirds #biodiversity #sgbiodiversity #birding #birdwatcher #birdphotography #npark #nparksbuzz #nature #natureshots #naturelovers #naturephotography #wildlife #wildlifephotography #birdstagram #birdsofinstagram #instabirds #canoneos750D #canon📷
