🚨ITS WORKOUT WEDNESDAY 🚨My abs and glutes are really sore today thanks to this quick workout Joe created yesterday in our personal training class! πŸ’ͺπŸΎπŸ’¦ Tips: - rest for 1.5 min between reps - "throwdowns": grab on to your partners ankles and have them try to throw your legs to the ground. Use your abs to stop your legs from actually touching the ground - alternating bicep curl press: make sure you alternate your bicep curls like I did in the video so you can target both the long and short head of your biceps brachii muscle #workoutwednesday

Workout Wednesday! *Fully body featuring glutes/backπŸ•Š* Start extended on the floor... 1. Point toes, squeeze glutes(whole time) and contract back to lift both the lower and upper body off the ground 2. Squeeeeeeeze your lats to pull your elbows to a little over 90 degrees and squeeze again 3. Extend to starting position (keep lower lifted as in the video OR return to starting position) 4. Hitting heavy sets of hammer curls with the 100's. 3 sets, 5 reps. This is the last set. Using heavy weight is essential to shocking your muscle into growing and providing the most amount of muscle strain possible. The more muscle strain you provide the more your muscle will respond, and the more growth you'll get. Just make sure when you use heavy weight that you maintain good form and muscle control. If you are flailing all over the place and your muscles aren't tight during the lift, and you are not maintaining muscle control then that weight is too heavy and you need to pick a weight that is heavy for you but that you can control. I always start my workouts heavy and then finish with lighter weights, really squeezing the muscle, and working on the mind muscle connection for a crazy pump. So you don't have to pick between heavy weight with less reps or lighter weight with higher reps...you can do both! Why limit yourself to just one technique when you can use both and get the best of all worlds!? Get out there and KILL IT!

Swipe --> Still in my post competition training phase, working on increasing training density. Today's pairing was incline barbell bench and squats. I used the SS Yoke Bar and I'm planning on getting real familiar with this thing this improvement season. Right now we're doing 6 reps with a controlled eccentric on everything with a weight I estimate I could do for 10. On the clock for :35 minutes. Aiming to improve the number of rounds each training cycle. Today I got through 9 rounds vs 7 my first cycle through so progress is being made! As always my programming is done my my coach @allencress . One step at a time is all it takes. This journey hasn't been the easiest and I know how frustrating it can be. Stop beating yourself up! You are a work in progress. So what does that mean? You aren't going to achieve your goals overnight, it will be a little at a time. But, being a work in progress is a beautiful journey. πŸ’—πŸ’— It means you are continuing to grow and make positive changes to better yourself. Remember to love yourself and your body through your journey. Own your mistakes and learn to laugh at them. I laugh at myself during my workouts because I can guarantee I look like a total goofball, but that's okay with me! You might be frustrated some days or maybe it's a little harder to get it done. But don't give up! I promise it's worth it!
