ANTE ZIZIC SAYS HE’S COMING TO THE NBA NEXT YEAR
Ante Zizic is making a bit of a splash in his travels overseas. After playing Cibona Zagreb in Croatia, he moved to Darussafaka Dogus in Turkey… a major upgrade because it’s a EuroLeague team and he’s being coached by former Cavs coach David Blatt (don’t scoff at that… Blatt is a Hall of Fame-level coach just based on his international record). After the Celtics pulled the draft-and-stash, Zizic says he’s almost a lock to come to Boston this summer.
You talked about going to NBA next season. It’s your definite decision?
Yes, of course. I was selected in the first Round but I wanted to stay one more year overseas in order to prepare for the NBA. Now I’m playing in EuroLeague and the next step is NBA. I’m 99% sure that I’m going to be there on summer. I feel comfortable now and I think I’m ready for this step.
Tell me about the Boston Celtics. They have some great players and are doing really fine this season.
I’m always in touch with the guys from Celtics. They watch my game and they come visit me. Indeed, they play really, really good this season. They have a lot of potential as a team, because it’s a young team. They have players who can play great individual and team basketball. Next season I want to be a part what they’ll do.” There is the SLIGHTEST bit of an out in there if Danny Ainge can convince him to stay in Europe one more season. Zizic just turned 20-years-old earlier this month, and though he’s playing well (16 ppg/7 rpg across both teams this year), Ainge might need the cap space Zizic would occupy to make his next move.
Isaiah Thomas is the NBA’s best 4th-quarter scorer
Isaiah Thomas has become one of the biggest stories in the first half of the 2016-17 season, largely due to his fourth quarter heroics. He’s leading the NBA by averaging 10.1 points per game in the game’s final frame, a number that has helped put him in the mix to be an Eastern Conference All-Star starter next month.
Thomas is currently on pace to score more fourth quarter points than any player in franchise history
He’s also good a pretty sizable edge over the next closest competitor in Paul Pierce. The future Hall of Fame forward averaged 7.3 ppg during the 2002-03 season in the fourth quarter.
While Thomas point totals may get most of the headlines, his efficiency late in games has almost been just as impressive. He’s shooting 49 percent from the field in the final frame and a sensational 45 percent from 3-point range. Comparatively, Pierce shot just 41 percent from the field and 29 percent from downtown in the fourth during that 2002-03 season. –Thomas is averaging more points in the fourth quarter than any NBA player in at least 20 years
The NBA database only goes back to the 1996-97 season on this front, but through 41 games, Thomas is on pace to top names like Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, Kevin Durant and other top names of this generation.
I like it 😏
17points in 4Q, THE KING IN THE FOURTH 👑

Guerschon Yabusele dominates again with 33 points, 16 rebounds and six assists .
Guerschon Yabusele is dominating the CBA with yet another big performance for Shanghai Sharks. Yabusele started the game with Jimmer Fredette being sidelined due to ankle injury and played 47 minutes, making sure the Sharks will win on the road. He had 33 points, 16 rebounds and six assists and was able to score down the road as the Shanghai team won 97-92. Sharks are now 24-4.
He is improving alot hopefully next season will be ready to comeback ☘☘
Atlanta fans booed Al Horford, but the ex-Hawks All-Star keeps it classy
The Atlanta crowd was not warm in their reception. They booed Horford consistently throughout the game. Horford, for his part, was taken aback by it. His teammates, predictably, were offended by it. "They weren't expected, but it is what it is," Horford said. "I know there's a lot of fans out there that appreciated my time here, and I appreciate them."
He was booed in pregame introductions, booed when he touched the ball and booed whenever he returned from a breather on the bench. It didn't help that he and the Boston Celtics took a 103-101 victory, snapping the Hawks' seven-game winning streak."
You don't boo a guy like that," Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas said after scoring 28 points. "You're not turning down money like that. None of them people that are booing are turning down that money, so he went to a situation he thought may be a little better."Like I said, a guy like that, with that type of character, you can't boo him. That's disrespectful."
"They made a bigger deal of it than I did," Horford said. "I was just ready to play. I just appreciate their effort and everything they did." Horford handled this right. Saying he knows some fans appreciate what he accomplished there, saying it's disappointing, being happy with the win, and later saying he didn't really care that much about "revenge." That's authentic to who Horford is: classy, restrained, good-natured.

Al Horford back in Atlanta, but this time in Celtics jersey.
The Boston Celtics are only 5wins (3,245) behind the LA Lakers (3,250) for most all-time regular season wins in NBA history. This is the closest the Celtics have been to leadin the NBA in all-time wins since they were overtake by the Lakers in the mid-1990's
Celtics Trade Target: Boban Marjanovic
Marjanovic has already cemented his reputation as someone who can affect a game in limited minutes, piping in 15 points and 19 rebounds in 23 minutes against the Hornets on January fifth. The rebounding total was the most by a Detroit reserve since 1999. Even more encouraging was the fact that Marjanovic shot 9-11 from the free-throw stripe in the contest, consistent with his impressive 75 percent mark from the charity line this season. This signifies that he has the potential to morph into a big man capable of hurting opponents with a 15-foot shot.
To relinquish Marjanovic, Detroit would most likely require the Celtics to part ways with center Tyler Zeller, who is posting just 8.7 rebounds per 36 minutes and has not seen action since December 29th, and a future second-round pick. With Marjanovic’s capability to assist Boston in their rebounding woes, he could coax general manager Danny Ainge into making a deal.
Avery Bradley, Tyler Zeller, James Young out against Atlanta Hawks
The Boston Celtics will be without Avery Bradley, Tyler Zeller and James Young on Friday against the Atlanta Hawks, according to the team's PR.
Bradley, who has missed multiple games with a strained achilles, had been hoping he could play against the Hawks, but along with Zeller and Young, he will stay in Boston rather than making the flight to Atlanta.
Per the team's PR, it does appear that both Amir Johnson and Jaylen Brown (both of whom sat out Wednesday's game against the Washington Wizards with sprained ankles) will travel with the team, which could mean that either or both will be available to play.
The Celtics could use Bradley against Hawks guard Dennis Schroeder, who has been handed the keys to the offense in the absence of Jeff Teague. Schroeder is averaging 17 points and six assists for Atlanta, and Bradley's athleticism and aggressive ball-hawking helped take the young point guard out of the equation in last season's first-round playoff series.
But having Johnson against Atlanta's combination of bigs in Paul Millsap and Dwight Howard would be a boost. Horford will certainly be important, but giving him some help in an emotional return to Atlanta would be a big contribution by Boston's other bigs.
The latest #NBAAllStar Voting presented by Verizon returns... When you see Zaza and not Al Horford cmon,NBA should stop fans vote😔
