I so enjoyed this gorgeous morning at Farragut State Park! This pretty park is located on the Southern tip of Lake Pend Oreille. And I wanted to spend more time to relax in the beautiful evergreen trees by the lake! This state park is #42 in our #2017stateparkphotothrowdown @travelwithreallymontana
Walkers and cyclists would love Coeur d' Alene Lake Parkway State Park, as it's part of the famous North Idaho Centennial Trail. I just loved it because it's right on the beautiful lake! And it's #41 in our #2017stateparkphotothrowdown @travelwithreallymontana
For years I've driven by Old Mission State Park, and for years, I've wanted to stop and visit the park. If we had not been participating in this state park challenge, We may not have stopped. I take this moment to say... Take that scenic detour! Drive down that interesting road! Rather than saying "We should..." I'm so thankful we've had lots of chances to explore new places! For all the friends that are having fun in the #2017stateparkphotothrowdown - thanks for playing with us! And this beautiful, historic one is #40 for us! @travelwithreallymontana
Heyburn State Park in Idaho is apparently the oldest state park in the Northwest. It also has fun cottages and cabins that you can rent, so I want to come back just for that! It is also #39 in our #2017stateparkphotothrowdown @travelwithreallymontana
Mary McCroskey State Park has over 4,000 acres of forest that are dedicated to the memory of frontier women and the hardships they endured. It has rugged terrain for hiking and exploring in its dense trees. And it's #38 in our #2017stateparkphotothrowdown @travelwithreallymontana
"We're almost there, but nowhere near it. All that matters is that we're going." - Lorelai Gilmore. I loved this little canyon we drove through in the middle of Idaho, and it's one road trip photo I'm so glad we slammed on our brakes to capture! @travelwithreallymontana
Dworshak State Park was by far, the hottest park we have visited this year, at 106 degrees! Dam. There was a dam. The 3rd tallest dam in America! And a very large reservoir for boating, camping, fishing and hiking! This park is #37 in or #2017stateparkphotothrowdown @travelwithreallymontana
This beauty slowed me down and made me pause for a moment. Take time and admire something little today! @travelwithreallymontana
The Lewis and Clark Expedition was on full display at Hells Gate State Park. I always wonder how difficult it was to do day to day chores more than 200 years ago, let alone travel on boat and foot across the country! This park is #36 in our #2017stateparkphotothrowdown @travelwithreallymontana
Winchester Lake State Park is an adorable little Idaho Lake surrounded by peaceful evergreens. This was a quick stop for us to stretch our road trip cramped muscles! 😅And it is #35 in our #2017stateparkphotothrowdown @travelwithreallymontana
Pine trees, the lake, and a beautiful summer evening. A perfect recipe for tranquility. Ponderosa State Park offers plenty of camping, hiking & biking trails, and lake recreation. And the nearby town of McCall, Idaho is a hip little town to hang out in! This park is #34 in our #2017stateparkphotothrowdown @travelwithreallymontana
When you get to a refreshing lake after driving for hours, you and the puppies breathe a sigh of relief. Lake Cascade State Park was like that for us! And it is #33 in our #2017stateparkphotothrowdown @travelwithreallymontana
Eagle Island State Park was super busy on this hot summer day when we went to check it out! But it's the perfect place to take your family for swimming and picnicking! And they even have a water slide, zip lining, and horse riding trails! This park is #32 in our #2017stateparkphotothrowdown with friends! @travelwithreallymontana
This photo seems like the definition of Summer!! The large amount of people at Lucky Peak State Park got it right! The perfect place to swim on such a hot day near Boise, Idaho. This park is #31 in our #2017stateparkphotothrowdown @travelwithreallymontana
"Write down three moments of joy every night before bed." I just heard Sheryl Sandburg (C.O.O. of Facebook) say this nugget of advice in an interview, and I thought it was very wise. And this was definitely one of those moments on this hot day in Idaho. My other two moments that day would be... not dying from heat exhaustion when I climbed off of the sand dunes...and further down the road we found a coffee hut where really sweet baristas served me an amazingly cold coffee drink! Still #30 in our #2017stateparkphotothrowdown @travelwithreallymontana
Hiking up on this sand dune proved to be a challenge. Not because of trudging through the sand, but because this is sun baked dune was a radiating furnace!! Note for the brave people who visit Bruneau Dunes State Park...don't climb to the top of the dunes on a 100 degree day! But if you do, you may be rewarded with this view! Still #30 in our #2017stateparkphotothrowdown @travelwithreallymontana @idparksandrec
Bruneau Dunes State Park was pretty spectacular to find. It's both cool and strange to find such a landscape in the middle of Idaho and surrounded by farmers fields! But it definitely wasn't "cool" there! So hot!! This was a fun Park to visit on our #2017stateparkphotothrowdown @travelwithreallymontana @idparksandrec
Three Island Crossing State Park brought back all my forth grade memories of playing the Oregon Trail video game! Many of the those pioneers chose to cross the Snake River at this point. And that makes this State Park #30 in our #2017stateparkphotothrowdown @travelwithreallymontana @idparksandrec
