Great story by #FlorenceFabricant in @nytfood about how our design and @therealnobu's cuisine come together in the new @nobunewyork. Link in our bio. 📷: #tonycenicola #whatwemake
To commemorate @nobunewyork's original location, @eat.draw.repeat sketched its iconic interior. From riverbed stone walls to birch tree sculptures, the design reflected @therealnobu's innovative cuisine and the Japanese countryside. Stay tuned for Nobu's reinvention in lower Manhattan's historic AT&T Building. #WhatWeMake
Curves and dynamic shapes reign at the 1905-08 Palau de la Música in Barcelona. Read more about how our love of theater and set design goes hand-in-hand with our fascination with theater buildings themselves. Link to our latest #Curiosity in profile.
#SneakPeek‼️ Our design for the 195-room @hotelemc2 in #Chicago was inspired by the intersection of art and science. Opening this spring! Read more in @travelandleisure. Link in profile. #WhatWeMake

Another great @diffanational #DiningbyDesign has come and gone! Since its debut 20 years ago, we've participated in this event which brings together renowned design talent to raise critical funds for DIFFA's work fighting HIV/AIDS. With winter still hanging on (at least here in the Northeast), #RockwellGroup's staff is hibernating with some good books and warm socks ( #hygge, anyone?). We asked around to see what's on people's nightstands these days and got a ton of varied, interesting answers. Visit the link in our profile to read the full list and see how we've used books in our projects - like @vandal where both bookshelves and books are absorbed into @tristaneaton's mural. #whatwemake #whatweread
Take a spin through the Hudson Yards Experience Center, a collaboration between the @labatrockwellgroup and our architecture and interior design practice. Link to the full video in our bio - it really transports you there.
#regram of @apartmenttherapy CEO and founder Maxwell Ryan's @chefsclubny post (one of our favorite projects!) Maxwell is moderating a talk with #DavidRockwell and #SandradeOvando called "Telling Stories with Design" this Friday 3/17 at the @addesignshow. We hope to see you there!
Daydreaming of a stay at @andazmaui while we keep an eye on the New York forecast. A skylit central sandpit welcomes guests in the lounge and nearby infinity edge pools give way to the beach. #whatwemake #stormstella
For @diffanational's #DBD2017 event, co-located with the @addesignshow next week March 16-20, @rockwellgroup and @ovandony conceived a modern version of a simple potting shed in colors inspired by the desert at dusk. Built by @the_factory_nyc, our installation features a blush-stained potting table surrounded by @artekglobal stools, dichroic walls and a vertical garden. @Sony projectors cast blooming flowers onto cacti centerpieces, while #ataroma diffusers fill the air with a signature scent. Come experience it for yourself! #whatwemake
Tomorrow we'll be revealing our collaboration with @ovandony for @diffanational's #DBD2017 event opening March 16th, but today we're giving you a #sneakpeak with this dreamy shot: Our tablescape was partly inspired by the colors of the desert at dusk. Blush pink, gray-green, and sun-kissed lavender... #whatwemake
Join us next Friday 3/17 at the @addesignshow for a talk with David Rockwell and Sandra de Ovando, moderated by Maxwell Ryan, CEO and founder of @apartmenttherapy. David and Sandra first collaborated on the speakeasy entryway to New York’s Vandal restaurant and discovered they share a passion for creating immersive environments with a story to tell. Check the link in our bio for event details.
As we eagerly anticipate @diffanational's Dining By Design event co-located with the @addesignshow March 16-20, we're taking a look back at some of the many tablescapes we've created over the years for this important annual fundraiser for HIV/AIDS. Stay tuned throughout the week to learn about this year's design.
#WhatWeMake 4/4: For @NeueHouse's #WestCoast flagship, we kept their unique DNA, but re-envisioned its look and feel to capture the energy of the building's prior role as a mid-century #creative hub for the entertainment industry. Our restoration maintains its brilliance and modernity, finding strength in streamlined #geometry and the delicate use of machine age #materials. 📷: @emily___andrews
#WhatWeMake 3/4: #Architect #WilliamLescaze’s #CBS Columbia Square is a classic, early example of the #InternationalStyle in the U.S. The style emerged in 1920s #Europe with the work of #LeCorbusier, #WalterGropius, and #LudwigMiesvanderRohe. Notice the buildings’ smooth, flat surfaces, ribbons of windows, and recessed ground floors with upper floors raised on pilotis (we’re also partial to the streamline modern elements). Stay tuned to see how we honored Lescaze’s #vision and transformed the building into @Neuehouse Hollywood!
#WhatWeMake 2/4: When @nbc opened studios in #Hollywood in 1938 it inspired a new #WestCoast “Radio City,” just like its #NYC studios at @rockcenternyc. Soon after, the Columbia Broadcasting System opened its $2 million, #WilliamLescaze designed broadcast studios at Columbia Square. Restaurants and entertainment sprang up around it. Both #NBC and #CBS could accommodate audiences of 300 people and large orchestras, and both had state-of-the-art control rooms. Today the CBS building houses the #LA hub of @Neuehouse. Stayed tuned tomorrow and Friday for more historic details. #NHhollywood
#WhatWeMake 1/4: Last year we celebrated the opening of @NeueHouse Hollywood, the West Coast flagship of the private work collective. The L.A. hub is housed in the landmark 1938 CBS Radio Building and Studio, designed by Swiss-born architect #WilliamLescaze. It’s from here that the baritone voice of #OrsonWelles suffused the nation’s airwaves and #LucilleBall wisecracked her way into living rooms. The #InternationalStyle building has an unmistakable vibrancy and a fascinating place in #LosAngeles history. This week we’ll be taking you on a historical tour of the building through stunning vintage photos. Stay tuned! #NHhollywood
