OKC THUNDER OFF SEASON PART 2 FA signings: The Thunder desperately need bench scoring and ANYONE who can score off the dribble. With limited funds, OKC will only be able to sign players to the minimum/veteran deals. I would really enjoy watching Tim Hardaway Jr on this team but with their cap restrictions and his price range, they would most likely be priced out. Players that I like at the minimum for OKC are Dunleavy, Sefolosha, Beasley, Casspi, Gerald Green and Meeks. Best Case: Jamal Crawford Green and Dunleavy on the minimum Worst Case: Meeks, Beasley and Casspi on the minimum Opinions?

We are breaking down team’s outlook going into free agency. OKC THUNDER PART 1 SALARY CAP BREAKDOWN GUARANTEED SALARY: Russell Westbrook 28.53 mil Steven Adams 22.47 mil Victor Oladipo 21 mil Enes Kanter 17.88 mil Alex Abrines 5.72 mil Kyle Singler 4.66 mil Doug McDermott 3.29 mil Jerami Grant 1.57 mil Josh Huestis 1.47 mil Semaj Christon 1.31 mil Guarantee cap spend 2017-18: 107,594,570 Likely cap space: -38,405,928* (*around 27 million in FA cap hold for Gibson and Roberson) Tax room: 9,073,134 Notable free Agents: Taj Gibson Nick Collison Andre Roberson Norris Cole OKC’s Offseason Blueprint: RESIGN ROBERSON AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE. We all understand his flaws offensively but he is the perfect defensive partner for Westbrook. Roberson’s ability to guard ones through to threes is a sort after skill set which will garner interest around the league. If the Thunder are able to dumb Enes Kanter’s terrible contract, then I would resign Gibson at around 8-10 million dollars over two years. This will help the Thunder save around 7-9 million this year for a player that less of a liability defensively. Best case: Resign Roberson to a 4 yr 60 million a year. Gibson 2 yr 16-20 million Trade: Freeing up cap space to sign extra shooters to pair with Beastbrook is critical for the Thunder. Dumping Kanter’s contract on any team willing to take him should be a priority. The Kings and Hawks have enough space to fit him in and if OKC throw in a pick (with some restrictions), they might consider taking a gamble on Kanter. A player I would love on this team is Jamal Crawford, if they could package up a deal with: - A pick and two of Christon/Huestis/Abrines. - Or if Griffin/ Paul do not resign, Enes Kanter in a swap deal. Jamal could play with the second unit as the primary ball handler and would give them a much needed scoring boast off the bench. Crawford’s 14 million dollar contract would make it hard for the Thunder so to get him they would need to rid themselves of Kanter or two of Christon/ Huestis/Abrines. #nba #thisiswhyweplay #basketball #basket #ball #basketball4life #basketballneverstops #ballislife #ballin #and1 #slamdunk #okc #thunder

76ers OFFSEASON PART 2 FA signings: With so much potential cap space it would be tempting to try and go after one of the big fish. With Covington and Embiid needing new contracts at the end of the season, the 76ers’ need to be cautious with how they spend their money. A player that I would definitely chase is JJ. Reddick (if they cannot get a trade for Hood or Bradley as I like those fits better). JJ fits a need at the two guard and can stretch the floor without needing too many touches. Don’t love the fit defensive with Fultz but I would only sign JJ to a two year 40 million dollar deal to allow his deal to come off the books before the Embiid/Covington summer. Other players that I would consider Dion Waiters, Andre Roberson (if he can fix his jumper) and Joe Ingles Best Case: Trade Saric for Avery Bradley/Rodney Hood Joe Ingles Worst Case: No free agent signing and they fill their roster with players from the draft. Opinions? #nba #thisiswhyweplay #basket #ball #basketball #basketball4life #basketballneverstops #ballin #ballislife #and1 #slamdunk #philly #philadelphia #76ers #philadephia76ers #joelembiid #markellefultz #bensimmons

We are breaking down team’s outlook going into free agency. PHILADEPHIA 76ers PART 1 SALARY CAP BREAKDOWN GUARANTEED SALARY: Jerryd Bayless 9 mil Gerald Henderson 9 mil Ben Simmons 6.16 mil Joel Embiid 6.1 mil Jahil Okafor 4.99 mil Nik Stauskas 3.8 mil Dario Saric 2.42 mil Justin Anderson 1.579 mil Timothe Luwawu- Cabarrot 1.38 mil Richaun Holmes 1.47 mil Robert Covington 1.57 mil TJ McConnell 1.47 mil Shawn Long 1.31 mil Guarantee cap spend 2017-18: 36,459, 973 Likely cap space: 27,311,040* (* this does not include around 15 million dollars of non-guaranteed money to Splitter and Rodriguez) Notable free Agents: Sergio Rodriguez Tiago Splitter Philly’s Offseason Blueprint: Unless Rodriguez wants to come back on a 1 year veteran’s minimum, I would be wishing these boys well. Best case: Neither resign. Trade: With Simmons returning to play the PF position, the 76ers’ could look to move Dario Saric during the trade period. Saric’s stock will never be higher than they currently are and there will be a few suitors for a player who showed a lot of promise during the latter part of the year. I would only be trading to fit a need, either a three and D player or a SG. Two players that I like are Rodney Hood and if you could guarantee he would resign, Avery Bradley (1 year to run on his deal). Both play without the ball and can knock down outside shoots at a decent clip. Bradley more than Hood will be able to defend 1-3 on the court and cover for Fultz’s defensively. #nba #thisiswhyweplay #basket #ball #basketball #basketball4life #basketballneverstops #ballin #ballislife #and1 #slamdunk #philly #philadelphia #76ers #philadephia76ers #joelembiid #markellefultz #bensimmons

NEW ORLEANS OFFSEASON PART 2: FA signings: With so much resting in Holidays hands the Pelicans can’t afford to go out onto the open market until he lets them know if he is staying or not. Let’s break it down into two scenarios: Holiday stays: The Pels will have two roster after drafting Edmond Sumner and Motley. I would only be going into the luxury tax for a player that is worth it. A three and D/shooting tall to stretch the floor should be their other main objective. Holiday leaves: Signing Milos Teodsic, the Serbian PG who played in Russia for CSKA Moscow is an absolute must, if Holiday doesn’t resign. Fantastic talent and could be looking for around 10 million a year which will leave you with another 10 to spend. PJ Tucker would be a nice fit for when Davis or Cousins need to sit. Best Case: Resign Holiday or Teodosic to a 2yr 20 million. One of PJ Tucker/Thabo Sefolosha/CJ Miles Worst Case: One of Teodosic/Jennings/Patty Mills One of Jeff Green/Amir Johnson/Luc Mbah a Moute Stay tune for our recap of today’s draft.

Leading up to the Draft we will breakdown team’s outlook going into free agency. NEW ORLEANS PART 1: SALARY CAP BREAKDOWN GUARANTEED SALARY: Anthony Davis 23.77 mil DeMarcus Cousins 18.06 mil Solomon Hill 12.23 mil Omer Asik 10.59 mil E’Twaun Moree 8.44 mil Alexis Ajinca 4.96 mil Quincy Pondexter 3.85 mil Dante Cunningham 3.1 mil Jordan Crawford 1.7 mil Cheick Diallo 1.31 mil Axel Toupane 1.47 mil Quinn Cook 1.31 mil Guarantee cap spend 2017-18: 88,351,260 Likely cap space: 21,585,152 Notable free Agents: Jrue Holiday Donatas Motiejunas New Orleans’s Offseason Blueprint: Holiday has the Pels handcuffed coming into the summer. Jrue has stated that money has to be right in order for him to stay and his asking price will be somewhere near the 20 million dollar range over the next 4 years which will force the Pelicans into the luxury tax. The problem for the New Orleans owners and front office is, do you want to go into the luxury and pay the tax for a team that might not win more than 50 games. With the salary cap jam, it is hard to see New Orleans resigning Motiejunas Best case for New Orleans FA: Jrue Holiday 4 yr 100-120 million Options to create more room in the salary cap: New Orleans could look to use the stretch provision order to waive either Omer Asik or Alexis Ajinca. In the Asik case, the Pelicans could waive him but they would have to pay the remainder of his contract over the next 6 years. This would cost around 4 million per year. If they do decide to go down this route, they will have around 6.5 million and 7.2 million dollars extra over the next two seasons. #nba #thisiswhyweplay #basketball #basket #ball #basketballneverstops #basketball4life #and1 #slamdunk #ballin #ballislife #neworleans #neworleanpelicans #pelicans #anthonydavis #demarcuscousins

CAN THE SPURS LAND PAUL? With all the news around the NBA about PG, Jimmy Butler and D’Angelo Russel/Lopez trade, it would have been easy to miss an equally as important piece of news. The San Antonio Spurs have convinced Pau Gasol to opt out of his 16.2 million dollar player option for the 2017/18 season. Reports indicate that he will resign with the Spurs and he will sign a multi year deal. The reshuffling of Gasol contract almost certainly means that the Spurs will be hunting a top point guard during free agency with Chris Paul being the priority. Would the addition of Chris Paull put the Spurs in the hunt to knock off the Warriors in a 7 game series? #nba #thisiswhyweplay #basket #ball #basketball #basketballneverstops #basketball4life #ballislife #ballin #and1 #sanantonio #sanantoniospurs #spurs #la #laclippers #clippers

DENVER NUGGETS OFFSEASON PART 2 Denver's Offseason Blueprint: What to do about Gallinari? He can do just about anything offensively but he is a liability on the defensive end. He will be looking for a deal close to 20 million per year over 4 years. The Nuggets will have to weigh up whether they can continue to move up the standing despite Gallinari’s limitations Another interesting FA is Plumlee. The Nuggets have the ability to offer him a qualifying offer as little as 5 million. Denver will need to decide whether they are willing to pay him the 10 million dollars a season he will be looking for. Remember, Denver gave away a first round pick to land Plumlee. The Nuggets will almost certainly wave good bye to both Roy Hibbert and Mike Millar. Best case for Denver: Gallinari 4yr 90-100 mil (team options on the fourth year) (only resign if they miss on FA’s/trade) Mason Plumlee 2 yr 12 mil FA signings/Trade options: With Denver not being a landing spot for the top FA’s, being aggressive in the trade market should be the direction of the front office. Our suggestion is a pursuit of Kevin Love. Offensively he makes a lot of sense as he stretches the floor, play pick and roll/pop with the Nuggets guards (Murray/Mudiay) and score in a variety of ways in the paint. Yes he is a liability defensively, but the Warriors are the only team who can play him off the court. The deal would have to be a three team trade with the Pacers which would be: Pacers: M. Beasley Will Barton Juan Hernangomez/Emmanuel Mudiay 1st round pick (2018, top 5 protected) Cleveland: Paul George Nuggets: Kevin Love If the trade can’t be made, Millsap’s defence, passing and three point shooting would be a nice fit next too Jokic. PJ Tucker, Ilyasova and Iguodala would be interesting pieces. Best Case: Kevin Love/Paul Millsap Iguodala 3 yrs 30 mil (player option on the 3rd year) Gerald Green/Thabo Sefolosha and Anthony Tolliver on the minimum. Worst Case: Resign Danilo Gallinari 4yr 90-100 mil Tony Snell 4yr 60 mil (fourth year team option) Rodney Stuckey, Andrew Bogut and Jodie Meeks. Who should Denver cahse in FA?

Likely cap space: 45,864,186 Notable free Agents: Danilo Gallinari Roy Hibbert Mike Millar Mason Plumlee Denver's Offseason Blueprint: What to do about Gallinari? Leading up to the Draft we will breakdown team’s outlook going into free agency. MIAMI HEAT: SALARY CAP BREAKDOWN GUARANTEED SALARY: Hassan Whiteside: 23.7 mil Goran Dragic: 17 mil Wayne Ellington 6.27 mil Josh McRoberts 6.02 mil (Player option) Tyler Johnson 5.82 mil Justice Winslow 2.7 mil Josh Richardson 1.47 mil (Team Option) Rodney McGurder 1.31 mil Okaro White $905,249 Guarantee cap spend 2017-18: 63, 811, 291* *this is assumed that Chris Bosh’s salary is official excluded from the cap. Likely cap space: 37,188,709 Notable free Agents: Dion Waiters James Johnson Udionis Haslem Willy Read Miami’s Offseason Blueprint: The Heat are somewhat handcuffed by the Tyler Johnson contract which increases to over 19 mil as of the 2018-19. This along with Whiteside and Dragic’s contract (increases over the next two season) will make it hard for Miami to resign both James Johnson and Waiters. We see the Heat resigning Waiters to a 4yr 48 mil. Miami should look for a two year deal for J. Johnson with a player option. Understandable Johnson will try to cash in on his improved season and might leave for more money and years than the Heat can offer him. Willy Read will likely get an offer that Miami won’t want to equal. Best case for Miami FA: Waiters: 4yr 48mil (team options on the fourth year) J. Johnson: 2 yr 20 mil (player option on the second year) Udonis Haslem: veterans minimum FA signings: Meetings with Hayward, Griffin and Millsap should be on the cards for Riley with Hayward at his age and his skillset both offensively and defensively the key. As well as landing a superstar, Miami will require another player that can score off the dribble. Rudy Gay or Danilo Gallinari are a players that could be of interest to the Heat if they do not land one of top FA’s. Best Case: Hayward on a 4yr 120-150 mil (player option on fourth year) Patrick Patterson 3yrs 30mil Jeff Withey, Jerebko, Omari Casspi and Iain Clarke on the minimum. Worst Case: Rudy Gay/Danilo Gallinari 4yr 80-90 mil Tim Hardaway JR 4yr 50 mil Mo Speights 2 yrs on the minimum Jarrod Sullinger, Withey and James Young. Who should Miami chase in FA?

GREATEST? The past three years has seen a changing of the guard from a King ruling over the realm to a punch of slick shooting Warriors. During this time, the Warriors have amassed some unbelievably impressive records which include: 2016: - A record, 24-0 start to the season. - Best ever record at the All Star break 48-4. - Earliest clinched playoffs berth (Feb 27th) - Longest regular season home court winning streak (45 games). - Most three's in one game (39) - Most three's hit by a team in a season (933). - Curry and Thompson became the first duo to hit 600 three's. -Curry became the first player to drop 300 treys in a year. - A season winning record of 73-9. -Curry becomes the first unanimous MVP. 2017: - Most consecutive games with at least one three pointer (Curry, 157) - Most three pointers made in one game (Curry, 13) - Most points scored in less the 30 minutes (Thompson, 60 points). - Most seasons with at least 63 wins (3) - Most consecutive playoff wins (17). - Most double digit playoff wins (12). Already an all time great, can we now consider the Warriors the greatest team to ever step on the hardwood? #nba #thisiswhyweplay #basket #ball #basketball #basketballneverstops #basketball4life #ballislife #and1 #ballin #gswarriors #dubnation #warriors #gsw #stephcurry #kd #nbafinals #kevindurant #defendtheland #clevelandcavaliers #cleveland #cavaliers #kingjames #lebronjames #finalsmvp

After watching the Cavaliers capitulate over the last 3 minutes, I had to go back and watch the tap to see where it all Cavs went wrong. With 3.06 left to go the Cavs were up by 6. Below are the MAJOR mistakes that were made by the men in black. 3.06: Love loses Green on a pick and roll, Green kicks the ball to KD for a three point shot which he misses. 2.38: Kyrie one on one on the right hand side of the three point line, sees the double, skip pass to JR who instead of pulling up runs square to the corner, shoots an off balance three misses. 1.25: GSW ball: KD gets the switch onto Tristian Thompson with James switching onto Green who backed Lebron underneath the rim allowing KD the whole left side of the court to dive into, finishing 3 ft from the rim. 56.5 secs: Lebron dives to the left were the help defenders (KD/Curry) were. Durant closes the space, Lebron passes to Korver who misses the contested three. Lebron was defended by Green, if he went right he had most of the paint to work one on one. 45.3: After the Korver miss, KD rebounds the ball and brings it up the court. Lebron doesn’t close the space, hits the three. (Video) 20 secs: Cavs have to foul, don’t foul Green when he takes possession and foul KD who is an 88% FT shooter. Last play: Tristian Thompson misses the screen on Klay to get Irving open for the three, Lebron gets the inbounds pass, stolen. Game over. (Video) Credit goes to the Warriors and there unbelievable defensive work rate and schemes but if the Cavs get two of these plays right, were looking at 2-1 and game on. #nba #thisiswhyweplay #basket #ball #basketball #ballislife #and1 #basketball4life #basketballneverstops #cleveland #cavs #clevelandcavaliers #defendtheland #dubnation #gswarriors #warriors #gsw #lebronjames #kingjames #stephcurry #kd #kevindurant

TRUEHOOPSAUS KEYS TO GAME TWO! 1. TURNOVERS Both teams thrive on scoring points in transition so both teams will be looking to restrict the turnovers they commit. 2. WILL LUE PUT A HANDBRAKE ON THE OFFENCE? Both Lebron and JR have come out and backed their fast up paced offence to deliver on the big stage against the Warriors superior defence. The 2015 injury hit Cavs had so much success early on against the Warriors, slowing down their offence and allowing James to play predominantly in the post. Lue has the hard decision to make, continue to trade blows with the Warriors or slow down the offence to reduce amount of possessions the Dubs get and the turnovers. 3. MORE RJ LESS KORVER? Jefferson looked good in game one and with KD's explosion, RJ will be required to shoulder some defensive load on Durant. The extra minutes need to come from somewhere and Korver looked well off in game one. He is too much of a liability defensively, when on the court the Warriors attacked Korver, making him defend the on ball player. 4. ATTACK THE VULNERABLE Deron Williams, Korver and Love look slow and not up to defending on picks and switches. Curry and Durant need to keep banging in on these three and make it hard for Lue to have them on the court. This could take away the Cavs ability to play these great shooters with Lebron. Leave your prediction below #nba #thisiswhyweplay #basket #ball #basketball #basketballneverstops #basketball4life #ballin #ballislife #and1 #slamdunk #dubnation #warriors #gswarriors #gsw #sanfranchisco #kd #kevindurant #stephcurry #defendtheland #clevelandcavaliers #cavs #cleveland #cavaliers

TRUEHOOPSAUS KEYS TO THE 2017 FINALS! CAVS 1. WHO GUARDS KD? Lebron at times will have to go with KD but Lue will not want him to shoulder to much of the defensive weight considering how integral James is to the efficiency of the offence. With Smith and Shumpert being too small, look for Jefferson to play a bigger role and come in to defend Durant. 2. CAN LEBRON'S JUMPER STAY TRUE? The Cavs offence relies heavily on James' jumper. If he is knocking down the three ball at a decent clip, the Warriors defenders will need to work over screens rather than behind. Coming over screens opens up the court for Lebron to drive and finish or be a facilitator. 3. OFFENCE REBOUNDS OR TRANSITION D? Will Lue commit players like Thompson and Love to hit the offensive glass at the risk of allowing the Warriors easier transition into their offence? 4. DOUBLE CURRY? The Cavs have had a lot of success in not allowing the Warriors offence to run through Curry. It will be interesting to see whether the second defender will be the screening defender or Tristan Thompson. WARRIORS: 1. HOW CAN WE LIMIT THE AMOUNT CURRY IS SWITCHED ON? Lebron is the best player at exploiting a weakness and almost always sets screens that give the player no other option but to switch on him. The way the Warriors try to counteract this is going to be interesting. 2. CAN MCGEE, WEST AND PACHULIA PLAY? They have all played vital roles in the previous series but with the way the Cavs switch and make you defend from the perimeter, it's going to be hard for these guys to play relevant minutes. 3. WE NEED YOU KLAY! Thompson needs to make it rain offensively but his role on Irving and Lebron is going to be key for the Warriors. 4. SUFFOCATE THEM The Warriors defence is one of the best we have seen over the past 10 years and they will meet their match when Lue goes to the Lebron and 4 shooters lineup. If Green can slow James' impact in the paint and Klay can get a hold of Irving, the Warriors will be hard to beat.
