TRUEHOOPSAUS TOP FIVE POINT GUARDS- PART 2 3. RUSSELL WESTBROOK TrueHoopAus ranking points: 67 31.6 PPG, 57.3 AST% (1st), 30.6 PER, 12.6 VORP (value over replacement player) (1st), 773.71 TPA (1st) MVP, All NBA first team, 2016 NBA All Star MVP, Scoring Champion, Bestbrook had the most dominant offensive season that I have ever witnessed. The OKC guard had a total point’s added total three times higher than any other player at this position. Why is he not at 1? He ranks the lowest amongst the guards in true shooting percentage, turnover percentage and assist/turnover ratio. CHRIS PAUL AND STEPHEN CURRY PAUL: TrueHoopAus ranking points: 69 46.8 AST% (3rd), 3.83 AST/TO ratio (1st), 26.2 PER (3rd), 5.3 VORP (3rd), 7.92 RPM (1st), 282.74 TPA (3rd) The best all round point guard in the league, Paul’s consistent across the season is unrivalled. The Houston guard at age 32 is the best passer and defender in the top 12. Expect Capela’s numbers to make a jump on the back of a few more Chris Paul alley-oops. CURRY: TrueHoopAus ranking points: 69 .625 TS% (2nd), 6.2 VORP (2nd), 7.41 RPM (2nd), 335.92 (2nd) Not given the credit that he deserve for leading the best team that we have seen this decade, Curry finds himself deservedly at the top. His shooting and shot creation is unmatched and his defence has improved at seen in the finals against the Cavaliers. TRUEHOOPSAUS TOP FIVE POINT GUARDS- PART 1 How we came to our decision? We started with a top 12, each player was ranked 10-1 on each stat (10 being the best) which includes a judgement ranking (my own opinion). Players are then ranked from 1-12 depending on how many TrueHoopsAus ranking point that they get. 5. MIKE CONLEY TrueHoopsAus ranking points: 52 34.5 AST% (3rd amongst top 12 PG), 2.78 AST/TO Ratio (2nd), 208. 36 Total points added (TPA) (4th) A more industrious player than the rest of this class, Conley enters as the second best point guard statistical at either end of the court. In his most impressive season so far, Conley’s ability to continue to distribute the ball without turning over and impact on the defensive end are the main reasons why he beat out players like Wall, Irving and Lowry. 4. ISAIAH THOMAS TrueHoopsAus ranking points: 59 30.8 PPG (2nd), .625 TS% (1st), 26.5 PER (2nd) 242.58 TPA. Thomas had one of the most dominant offensive season by a player at their position. His ability to single handily pull his team to victory contributed to the Celtics out performing expectations and finishing with the best record in the East. In those last quarters, Thomas had an offensive rating of 125 and a true shooing percent of .65 in the last five minutes of games. #nba #thisiswhyweplay #basket #ball #basketball #ballin #ballislife #basketballneverstops #basketball4life #miamiheat #bostonceltics #isaiashthomas #memphisgrizzlies #lalakers #laclippers #houstonrockets #okcthunder #gswarriors #stephcurry

KYRIE TRADES PART 4: Alright Kyrie fans let's break down possible trade destinations for the Cleveland star. We are going to sort them into three categories: -Most likely to occur- trades that work for both teams. - Teams that would really like him but probably can't get it done. - Please, please, please make this happen! We will just discuss the player movement rather than the moving of picks which we can all assume will happen. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN! MILWAUKEE BUCKS CAVS RECEIVE Kris Middleton (14.1 mil) Jabri Parker (6.7 mil) BUCKS RECEIVE Kryie Irving (18 mil) You wouldn't be able to turn on Sports Centre without seeing another heart stopping highlight from Giannis and Irving. The trade is probably not going to make the Bucks better, but man it would be fun. The trade would work for the Cavs with Middleton a boarder line All Star when healthy, the only problem with the trade is Cleveland's willingness to take a gamble on Parkers knee. BOSTON CELTICS AND SUNS SUNS RECEIVE: Jalen Brown (5 mil) Jae Crowder (6.7 mil) Marcus Smart (4.5 mil) CAVS RECEIVE : Eric Bledsoe (14 mil) CELTICS RECEIVE: Kyrie Irving (18 mil) The good old EPSN trade machine has confirmed that this deal is actually possible. Irving, Thomas, Hayward, Horford and Baynes with Tatum, Morris, Rozier, Zizic backing them up. More suited the 2K, this team would rival the Warriors for offensive power but would struggle defensively with Thomas and Irving in the back court. We can dream though. Where do you see Irving landing?

KYRIE TRADES PART 3: Alright Kyrie fans let's break down possible trade destinations for the Cleveland star. We are going to sort them into three categories: -Most likely to occur- trades that work for both teams. - Teams that would really like him but probably can't get it done. - Please, please, please make this happen! We will just discuss the player movement rather than the moving of picks which we can all assume will happen. TEAMS WHO WOULD LOVE TO HAVE IRVING BUT PROBABLY CANT GET HIM: TIMBERWOLVES: CAVS RECEIVE: Gorgui Deng (14.1 mil) Andrew Wiggins (7.5 mil) Tyus Jones (1.4mil) TIMBERWOLVES RECIEVE: Kryie Irving (18 mil) Channing Frye (7.4 mil) Edy Tavares (1.4 mil) This would be interesting sending Wiggins back to the team that originally drafted him. Couldn't see Lebron ever agreeing to playing with Deng, too much of a liability offensively against the Warriors. SAN ANTONIO SPURS CAVS RECEIVE: Danny Green (10 mil) Patty Mills (11 mil) Davis Bertans (1.3 mil) SPURS RECEIVE: Kryie Irving (18 mil) Richard Jefferson (2.5 mil) This could theoretically work when Mills' no trade period is up and Irving is still stuck in Cleveland. Green and Mills would be starters on the Cavs and would make them an interesting defensive team. Really struggle to see this happening late in the season.

KYRIE TRADE PART 2 Alright Kyrie fans let's break down possible trade destinations for the Cleveland star. We are going to sort them into three categories: -Most likely to occur- trades that work for both teams. - Teams that would really like him but probably can't get it done. - Please, please, please make this happen! We will just discuss the player movement rather than the moving of picks which we can all assume will happen. MOST LIKELY TO OCCUR: (We are not going to include the Knicks in this conversation as Melo has stated that he will only sign with the Rockets) PHEONIX SUNS CAVS RECEIVE Eric Bledsoe (14.5 mil) T.J Warren (3.1 mil) PHEONIX RECEIVE: Kryie Irving (18 mil) Richard Jefferson (2.5 mil) Bledsoe is not the offensive beast that Irving is but he is a much better competitor at the defensive end. His strong body allows him to switch onto twos and threes and defend them at a reasonable rate. Warren is another decent three and D guy who can start or bolster the bench. Irving would be a nice fit on a young and upcoming team. Takes the ball out of Bookers hand and allows him to play the two. The Suns would instantly become a much watch league pass team with Irving having high flyers like Chriss, Jones and Jackson to throw lops too.

We are going to sort them into three categories: -Most likely to occur- trades that work for both teams. - Teams that would really like him but probably can't get it done. - Please, please, please make this happen! We will just discuss the player movement rather than the moving of picks which we can all assume will happen. MOST LIKELY TO OCCUR: (We are not going to include the Knicks in this conversation as Melo has stated that he will only sign with the Rockets) MIAMI HEAT CAVS RECEIVE: Goran Dragic (17 mil) Wayne Ellington (6.2 mil) Justice Winslow (2.7 mil) HEAT RECEIVE: Kyrie Irving (18 mil) Iman Shumpert (10 mil) Miami probably has the most assests that would help keep the Cavs at the top of the Eastern Conference. As well as the mentioned players, the Heat could offer Richardson, Bam or McGurder who can all help the Cavs defensively against the Warriors and provide some offence off the bench. If the trade was to go through the Cavs would want to get Shumpert off the books which Miami can do if Ellington is part of the deal. DENVER NUGGETS CAVS RECEIVE: Wilson Chandler (12 mil) Kenneth Faried (12.9 mil) Emmanuel Mudiay (3.3 mil) Gary Harris (2.5 mil) NUGGETS RECEIVE: Kyrie Irving (18 mil) Iman Shumpert (10.3 mil) Changing Frye (7.4 mil) I really like the fit of Mudiay and Harris on the Cavs. Mudiay would not have to be the primary ball handler playing with LeBron and if he can figure out his shot and shoot a defendable 35% from three he could be dangerous with his athletic gifts. Harris is a shots the ball well and is a good defender unlike Shumpert, Korver and Calderon. Harris could start at the two and move JR to a sixth man role to bolster the bench. A starting five of Mudiay, Harris, Lebron, Love and Thompson with a bench of Faried, Chandler (another player who can create his own shot), Jefferson, Calderon, Jeff Green and JR has more depth than the current roster. For the the Nuggets, a lineup of Irving, Murray, Hernangomez, Millsap and Jokic is very intriguing offensively.

WINNERS AND LOSERS FROM DAY 4 OF FREE AGENCY TIL NOW LOSERS 1. THE KINGS AND DAVE JOERGER. Signing three veterans (Randolph, Hill and Carter) doesn't make sense for were they are going as it will diminish the roles of players like Papgiannis, Fox, Skal, Giles and Jackson. Signing these three also takes up the majority of their cap space which won't allow them to be a dumbing ground for teams looking to get bad contracts of their cap and allowing the Kings to acquire more picks. Looks like Joerger is trying to save his job. 2. NEW YORK KNICKS Hardaway's 4 year 71 million dollar contract is the worst deal so far in free agency. One of my favourite players to watch but his production at that price doesn't match and the Knicks have definitely over evaluated him. 3. AVERY BRADLEY Feel for Bradley who has toughed it out throughout the rebuilding of this roster and will now not be there to be able to enjoy the good times. Playing in Detroit like rubbing salt into the wounds. 4. THE REMAINING FREE AGENTS With all contenting teams bar the Spurs being maxed out and most teams struggling to balance the books, the remaining free agents are going to find it hard to get the pay day that they might be looking for. #nba #thiswhyweplay #basketball #basket #ball #basketballneverstops #basketball4life #ballislife #ballin #and1 #slamdunk #miamiheat #miami #heat #jamesharden #houstonrockets #sacramentokings #la #laclippers #torontoraptors

WINNERS AND LOSERS FROM DAY 4 OF FREE AGENCY TIL NOW WINNERS: 1. TORONTO AND CJ MILES Masai is an absolute genius trading Carroll to the Nets and flipping Cory Joesph and a couple of worthless picks for CJ Miles. The significance of these moves is massive as the Raps are now below the tax. Miles is a winner for landing on a team that will be playing deep into the playoffs. 2. MILOS TEOSODIC Finally we get to see Teosodic test himself at the highest level. His passing and shooting should allow him to be effective offensively but let see if he can stand up defensively against the best guards in the league. 3. JAMES HARDEN Got the super max deal that he deserved. Despite it equaling around 40-45 million a year, only about 35 million of it is absorbed into the cap each year. 4. VINCENT CARTER At 40 years of age Carter has strangled 8 million dollars out of the Kings. Still baffled by this deal. 5. MIAMI HEAT A very productive week for the Heat, resigning Waiter and Johnson and signing Olynyk to decent 4 year deal. Don't love the 4 years handed to Johnson as he will be 34 by the time his contract is up and his production might not match the price but bring him back was a good piece of business. The Heat also flipped McRoberts 7 million dollars by sending him to the Dallas which only cost them a second round pick. #nba #thiswhyweplay #basketball #basket #ball #basketballneverstops #basketball4life #ballislife #ballin #and1 #slamdunk #miamiheat #miami #heat #jamesharden #houstonrockets #sacramentokings #la #laclippers #torontoraptors

TRUEHOOPSAUS FREE AGENCY WINNERS AND LOSERS LOSERS: 1. TOM THIBODEAU Don't really understand the reason for signing Gibson to a 2 year 28 million dollar contract for a couple of reasons. One, you already have a very similar player in Dieng on the roster. The second reason is that they have no shooting on this roster. I would have thought Patrick Patterson or even Speights would have been a much better fit next too Towns. Tibeodo hasn't moved with the times and we will wait to see if he try's to sign Rose or Deng and form the TimberBulls. 2. LA CLIPPERS: No, I am not a GM of a franchise on million of dollars a year BUT I have no idea what Rivers is trying to achieve by resign Griffin then signing Gallinari. They are both fours, meaning that Gallinari will have to defend three's which he will have a tough time doing. Both these players have spent considerably amount of time on the sidelines so investing in big and long contracts with these players makes little sense. Good luck trying to stop teams with Griffin and Gallo on the court. 3. GORDON HAYWARD Don't spit on my cupcake and tell me it's icing. 4. KARPAX I am not a Bulls fan but what has gone on their over the past two weeks makes my blood boil. LaVine, Dunn and Markineen..... Strap yourself in Bulls fans, it's going to be a long ride. #nba #thiswhyweplay #basket #ball #basketball #basketballneverstops #basketball4life #ballislife #ballin #and1 #bostonceltics #gswarriors #dubnation #denvernuggets #chicagobulls #utahjazz #la #laclippers #minnesotatimberwolves

TRUEHOOPSAUS FREE AGENCY WINNERS AND LOSERS WINNERS: 1. BOSTON AND THE EASTERN CONFERENCE Won the Hayward sweepstakes getting a player that can help them challenge the Cavs. The Eastern conference is also a big winner getting a star player back after losing so many to the West. 2. OKC George for Oladipo's 20 million dollar contract and Sabonis was highway robbery and with the signing of Patterson the Thunder are the biggest winners of the Free Agency so far. 3. JRUE HOLIDAY Had the Pels handcuffed and used that to swindle a massive 126 million dollar over 5 years. 4. ROCKETS Love the PJ Tucker fit, boasting their defensive presences around their scores. Bring back Nene and signing Paul are nice deals which could see the Rockets challenge the Warriors next season. 5. JJ REDDICK AND PHILLY Reddick got PAID but only on a one year deal which will allow the 76ers flexibility to resign Covington and Embiid next summer. With the addition of JJ's shooting and the fall in talent in the East, Philly could be looking at a possible run at the playoffs. 6. DENVER NUGGETS In Millsap, the Nuggets have the perfect fit next too Jokic. The former Hawks defence and three point shooting will help the development of players such as Murray, Harris and Jokic. A steal for the Nuggets at 3 years and not 4 or 5 years. 7. THE WARRIORS AND SWAGGY P I thought there was no way this team could get any better but here we are. Swaggy offers the Warriors another shot creator and off the ball shooter that is active at the defensive end. The signing of Casspi was another shrewd signing which adds to their list of three point assassins. #nba #thiswhyweplay #basket #ball #basketball #basketballneverstops #basketball4life #ballislife #ballin #and1 #bostonceltics #gswarriors #dubnation #denvernuggets #houstonrockets #philadephia76ers #okcthunder #neworleanspelicans

TORONTO RAPTORS PRESEASON OUTLOOK PART 2 FA signings: Two options here for the Raps: 1. They do not resign Lowry I would throw as much money as it took to try and persuade George Hill to sign. I like the fit offensively with DeRozan and Ibaka and his defence will easily replace what Lowry’s offered. If Hill signs elsewhere, Holiday and Teague would be next on my list. 2. If Lowry resigns Fill the roster with some solid shooting veteran’s at the minimum. The Raps would be well into the tax if he does recommit so shooters like Dunleavy and Casspi would fit nicely with DeRozan and Lowry. The Raps will also be on the hunt for a big who can stretch the floor. Hawes, Speights or Babbitt would top of the list for the Raps. Best Case: Lowry/Hill at the max One of Babbitt/Speights Worst Case: Jeff Teague/Rubio Dunleavy and Hawes. #nba #thisiswhyweplay #basket #ball #basketball #basketball4life #basketballneverstops #ballislife #slamdunk #and1 #ballin #toronto #raps #raptors #torontoraptors #kylelowry #demarderozan

We are breaking down team’s outlook going into free agency. TORONTO RAPTORS PART 1 SALARY CAP BREAKDOWN GUARANTEED SALARY: DerMar DeRozan 27.73 mil Jonas Valanciunas 15.46 mil DeMarre Carroll 14.8 mil Cory Joseph 7.63 mil Jakob Poeltl 2.82 mil Lucas Nogueira 2.94 mil Bruno Caboclo 2.45 mil Delon Wright 1.64 mil Pascal Siakam 1.24 mil Norman Powell 1.47 mil Fred VanVleet 1.31 mil Guarantee cap spend 2017-18: 88,812,630 Likely cap space: -27,116,623 (*around 37 million in FA cap hold for Lowry and Ibaka) Tax room: 30,244,623 Notable free Agents: Serge Ibaka Patrick Patterson P.J Tucker Rap’s Offseason Blueprint: If I was the GM of the Raps, I would be looking to bring back Lowry but at the right price. With so many good free agent PG, Toronto do not need to break the bank in order to get Lowry back who is over 30 years old and has not yet delivered in the playoffs. Ibaka is a nice fit with the Raps ball dominant guards and can stretch the floor with his three point shooting. His value comes at the defensive end and his ability to switch onto smaller players and defend out at the three point line. In an ideal world I would bring back Patterson and PJ Tucker but I think teams will over evaluate on their ability to stretch the floor and play defence meaning Toronto might be priced out. Best case: Resign Ibaka to a 3 yr 60-70 mil Lowry 4 yr 100-120 mil (4th year a team option) Trade: If Lowry does not resign, the Raps could trade with the Timberwolves for Ricky Rubio. A Package including Wright, Nogueira and a first round pick could be enough to persuade the Twolves. #nba #thisiswhyweplay #basket #ball #basketball #basketball4life #basketballneverstops #ballislife #slamdunk #and1 #ballin #toronto #raps #raptors #torontoraptors #kylelowry #demarderozan

OKC THUNDER OFF SEASON PART 2 FA signings: The Thunder desperately need bench scoring and ANYONE who can score off the dribble. With limited funds, OKC will only be able to sign players to the minimum/veteran deals. I would really enjoy watching Tim Hardaway Jr on this team but with their cap restrictions and his price range, they would most likely be priced out. Players that I like at the minimum for OKC are Dunleavy, Sefolosha, Beasley, Casspi, Gerald Green and Meeks. Best Case: Jamal Crawford Green and Dunleavy on the minimum Worst Case: Meeks, Beasley and Casspi on the minimum Opinions?

We are breaking down team’s outlook going into free agency. OKC THUNDER PART 1 SALARY CAP BREAKDOWN GUARANTEED SALARY: Russell Westbrook 28.53 mil Steven Adams 22.47 mil Victor Oladipo 21 mil Enes Kanter 17.88 mil Alex Abrines 5.72 mil Kyle Singler 4.66 mil Doug McDermott 3.29 mil Jerami Grant 1.57 mil Josh Huestis 1.47 mil Semaj Christon 1.31 mil Guarantee cap spend 2017-18: 107,594,570 Likely cap space: -38,405,928* (*around 27 million in FA cap hold for Gibson and Roberson) Tax room: 9,073,134 Notable free Agents: Taj Gibson Nick Collison Andre Roberson Norris Cole OKC’s Offseason Blueprint: RESIGN ROBERSON AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE. We all understand his flaws offensively but he is the perfect defensive partner for Westbrook. Roberson’s ability to guard ones through to threes is a sort after skill set which will garner interest around the league. If the Thunder are able to dumb Enes Kanter’s terrible contract, then I would resign Gibson at around 8-10 million dollars over two years. This will help the Thunder save around 7-9 million this year for a player that less of a liability defensively. Best case: Resign Roberson to a 4 yr 60 million a year. Gibson 2 yr 16-20 million Trade: Freeing up cap space to sign extra shooters to pair with Beastbrook is critical for the Thunder. Dumping Kanter’s contract on any team willing to take him should be a priority. The Kings and Hawks have enough space to fit him in and if OKC throw in a pick (with some restrictions), they might consider taking a gamble on Kanter. A player I would love on this team is Jamal Crawford, if they could package up a deal with: - A pick and two of Christon/Huestis/Abrines. - Or if Griffin/ Paul do not resign, Enes Kanter in a swap deal. Jamal could play with the second unit as the primary ball handler and would give them a much needed scoring boast off the bench. Crawford’s 14 million dollar contract would make it hard for the Thunder so to get him they would need to rid themselves of Kanter or two of Christon/ Huestis/Abrines. #nba #thisiswhyweplay #basketball #basket #ball #basketball4life #basketballneverstops #ballislife #ballin #and1 #slamdunk #okc #thunder

76ers OFFSEASON PART 2 FA signings: With so much potential cap space it would be tempting to try and go after one of the big fish. With Covington and Embiid needing new contracts at the end of the season, the 76ers’ need to be cautious with how they spend their money. A player that I would definitely chase is JJ. Reddick (if they cannot get a trade for Hood or Bradley as I like those fits better). JJ fits a need at the two guard and can stretch the floor without needing too many touches. Don’t love the fit defensive with Fultz but I would only sign JJ to a two year 40 million dollar deal to allow his deal to come off the books before the Embiid/Covington summer. Other players that I would consider Dion Waiters, Andre Roberson (if he can fix his jumper) and Joe Ingles Best Case: Trade Saric for Avery Bradley/Rodney Hood Joe Ingles Worst Case: No free agent signing and they fill their roster with players from the draft. Opinions? #nba #thisiswhyweplay #basket #ball #basketball #basketball4life #basketballneverstops #ballin #ballislife #and1 #slamdunk #philly #philadelphia #76ers #philadephia76ers #joelembiid #markellefultz #bensimmons

We are breaking down team’s outlook going into free agency. PHILADEPHIA 76ers PART 1 SALARY CAP BREAKDOWN GUARANTEED SALARY: Jerryd Bayless 9 mil Gerald Henderson 9 mil Ben Simmons 6.16 mil Joel Embiid 6.1 mil Jahil Okafor 4.99 mil Nik Stauskas 3.8 mil Dario Saric 2.42 mil Justin Anderson 1.579 mil Timothe Luwawu- Cabarrot 1.38 mil Richaun Holmes 1.47 mil Robert Covington 1.57 mil TJ McConnell 1.47 mil Shawn Long 1.31 mil Guarantee cap spend 2017-18: 36,459, 973 Likely cap space: 27,311,040* (* this does not include around 15 million dollars of non-guaranteed money to Splitter and Rodriguez) Notable free Agents: Sergio Rodriguez Tiago Splitter Philly’s Offseason Blueprint: Unless Rodriguez wants to come back on a 1 year veteran’s minimum, I would be wishing these boys well. Best case: Neither resign. Trade: With Simmons returning to play the PF position, the 76ers’ could look to move Dario Saric during the trade period. Saric’s stock will never be higher than they currently are and there will be a few suitors for a player who showed a lot of promise during the latter part of the year. I would only be trading to fit a need, either a three and D player or a SG. Two players that I like are Rodney Hood and if you could guarantee he would resign, Avery Bradley (1 year to run on his deal). Both play without the ball and can knock down outside shoots at a decent clip. Bradley more than Hood will be able to defend 1-3 on the court and cover for Fultz’s defensively. #nba #thisiswhyweplay #basket #ball #basketball #basketball4life #basketballneverstops #ballin #ballislife #and1 #slamdunk #philly #philadelphia #76ers #philadephia76ers #joelembiid #markellefultz #bensimmons

NEW ORLEANS OFFSEASON PART 2: FA signings: With so much resting in Holidays hands the Pelicans can’t afford to go out onto the open market until he lets them know if he is staying or not. Let’s break it down into two scenarios: Holiday stays: The Pels will have two roster after drafting Edmond Sumner and Motley. I would only be going into the luxury tax for a player that is worth it. A three and D/shooting tall to stretch the floor should be their other main objective. Holiday leaves: Signing Milos Teodsic, the Serbian PG who played in Russia for CSKA Moscow is an absolute must, if Holiday doesn’t resign. Fantastic talent and could be looking for around 10 million a year which will leave you with another 10 to spend. PJ Tucker would be a nice fit for when Davis or Cousins need to sit. Best Case: Resign Holiday or Teodosic to a 2yr 20 million. One of PJ Tucker/Thabo Sefolosha/CJ Miles Worst Case: One of Teodosic/Jennings/Patty Mills One of Jeff Green/Amir Johnson/Luc Mbah a Moute Stay tune for our recap of today’s draft.
