This aerial view of the Roebling Bridge was taken in the 1960's. while the main structure of the aqueduct is still in evidence the side walls are no longer standing and the ice breakers show wear. The National Park Service purchased the aqueduct in 1980 and over the next 15 years restored it back to its original appearance. Today, instead of canal boats, cars can be seen going from one side to the other.
