COOK WITH SAM

I wanted to rant about something I’ve thought about often thru this whole process..I used to let the whole fitness thing intimidate me. The gym freaked me right out. People judging me was so nerve wracking. (They always will though so best to fuck w/ yourself and not let it bother you) and any sort of diet change was far too much to handle. I actually used to tell my friends how I could “NEVER” do keto and I “didn’t have time for it.” Deep down, it was never because I thought I wouldn’t benefit from it, (insert insecurity issues here) I saw almost all my friends incorporate fitness and healthy eating into their lives YEARS ago, so I knew there were benefits, but it was more or less, I FELT I was content with just scraping by doing the bare minimum - if that. Also, (and please excuse if any of this sounds ignorant, that is not how I mean it at ALL) but when I would creep “fitness” on the gram, lots of what I saw were either HUGE transformations (100 plus pounds - so clap for ya damn self if that’s you) OR I would see girls demonstrating workouts who were already rockstars in the gym. I genuinely didn’t really feel like I fit in anywhere. I never found that (besides my friends) I saw people going from what I would like to call “average,” to better versions of themselves. Although I have never been victim to severe body shaming or insecurity (which is awful by the way) I have definitely heard my fair share of “you don’t need to work out, you’re already skinny” or “you’re lucky you have a high metabolism” and at this point I’m like.. no bitch...I worked for the results I’m starting to see now.. and since when did skinnyish mean strong?! Since when did skinny double as fit!? I post these so other people who feel they look “fine” to everyone else’s eye, can see that they have potential to be even better.. we all do!! There’s not a huge weight difference between these two pics. But the chick on the left (god damn girl dye your hair ANY darker) couldn’t lift HALF of what the chick on the right can and to be honest that’s cool in my opinion.. remember to take what I say with a grain of salt cause this is just my personal life/process and everyone’s is different 😘👏🏻
