Dear Peter, You’ve left us in a hurry, in the most surprising way. People like you are never meant to go! I’ve always admired you, since the first day we met in Paris and started working together in the late 80’s. It was for New York Woman and this was your first editorial in America. It was also Naomi’s first published pictures. We shot in Bercy, One of your favorite places at the time. That too, is all gone. You even threw me in a picture in the background. All this seems like yesterday. And since then we’ve worked together on every single magazine I’ve been at: Italian Vogue, Bazaar, French Vogue and Interview of course, but also on countless projects, and campaigns for so many clients. You’ve never stopped to astonish me because you’ve never stopped to give. Your optimism, your love for your craft and your dedication were unparalleled. You had a vision and it was pure and as direct as an arrow. You made women feel like women, looking real and intelligent. Your beauty was unique and so admired by all the people you’ve photographed. These pictures I took in California on a job together in one of your favorite place on Lake Mirage. It was a special day and I remember how much fun we had and the great pictures you took, mumbling behind your camera, ya, ya, ya, ya, like you always do when you’re excited. I was meant to send them to you, afterwards, for a contributing picture, but I forgot. And so did you. So here they are, I know it’s a bit late but I still want you to have them. I love you. Fabbie as you used to call me. My sincere condolences to your family, Petra your wife, and your children, Benjamin, Jérémy, Simon and Joseph💔

Your words are so touching. I have been thinking all day about Peter’s little dances every time he say the first shot of whatever or whomever he was shooting. His enthusiasm for every moment and love for his craft was so inspiring. Thank you Fab for all of the amazing stories and memories that marked my career and time w our Peter. His poetic photos live forever ❤️❤️🌟
