“There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature - the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.” -Rachel Carson Hepatica is a sure sign of spring all across Iowa (these were spotted in Linn County). Their flowers can range from violet to pink and white shades. They are usually grouped together and open wide on sunny days. Their fuzzy stems emerge from forest floors and help protect them.
