W5D5: All aboard! The Tempo Train continued this morning on its way to Duluth, Minnesota for @grandmasmarathon. • Today called for three, two-mile segments around 6 min/mi pace with 2 minute jog recovery. S/o to @brocktxc for the continued advice on training. • I didn’t want to go overboard with it so I did something I had never done before: Programmed a workout into my Garmin Forerunner 230. I set the boundaries at 5:50/mi and 6:10/mi, which would put me right in that happy zone. • I heard my watch chirp at me a few times to slow down, but overall I was pleased with the results - 6:05, 5:57; 5:59, 5:53; 5:56, 5:54. • I didn’t know how it would go out there due to not feeling 100 percent. Tweaked something in my left calf during Tuesday’s fartlek, but it proved to be fine. • There are seven more stops for the Tempo Train between now and June 16.
