“Sell me this (GLP-1 receptor agonist) pen”
It has been 4 days since the last day of my Lilly internship experience. In those 4 days, I have been reflecting on my time and journey while in Indianapolis this summer. And I wanted to share some key takeaways from my experience:
1. Resilience within the workplace is key: No matter how you cope and handle resiliency, make sure you have a strong support system.
2. Processes take time: Going off from my intern project, I have learned it is not a start and stop process. I have set a foundation within my business unit and team, and I am proud of myself to leave a solid roadmap behind for the next person to strengthen my work and findings.
3. Lastly, we are part of a “common thread”: I had the pleasure of having a 1:1 meeting with CPO Gordon Brooks, and he mentioned the perspective of the “common thread”. In short, as an individual within the workplace we all have a common objective and mission whether we know it or not. Being part of that common thread strengthens business relationships and partnerships around the globe and pulls us closer to a better way of life in the business world.
From all that I shared, I hope you can take a piece of knowledge and pass it on to someone that may need or benefit from it. My time at Eli Lilly has been indescribable and fulfilling. I hope the next class of interns get to experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity like I did!
Thank you to everyone and anyone that has placed me to where I am now, and where I am going to be in the near future!
The theme of last week’s LillyX event (our take on TED) was Explore, Adapt and Advance. Martha Hoover of The Patachou Foundation, one of our speakers this year, embodies this charge. Great work to all the Lilly volunteers for putting on another inspiring event. 👍🏻 #WeAreLilly
