😤At some point you have to tell yourself that the weight’s not going to move on it’s own and the experience won’t be gained unless you actually lift some weight - YOUR ☝🏽weight. - I remember a couple of months ago I was riding a serious deadlift high, PR’d twice within a week 😍 and then in a matter of a couple days, could barely pick 185 off the ground😕. I could taste the progress, I could taste the gains and in those moments I thought 🤔“wow, I actually have potential, we’re going to get somewhere if we just keep doing this. Maybe soon i’ll be like ‘THEM😍😍’”. Functional overreaching followed by selfish, intense desire to keep going regardless? Maybe🤷🏻‍♀️. But sometimes, that overreaching turns into overtraining if you push too hard. Then that overtraining turns into burnout😥 - Tone down your ego, dial down your emotions 🤖 and do what you need to do to make that damn progress you want. GET ‘ERR DONE👊🏽😡. No large ego coupled with missed heavy lifts and self-pity is worth wasting the potential for progress. - Your day 300 isn’t the same as someone’s day 1000, stop sulking and move YOUR weight, not theirs. - 1x1 @ snacc 🤤 1x5 @ dessert 😋

🏋🏻‍♂️Training in pairs is a beautiful opportunity to learn and advance. @carlito taught me a few of his tricks, I taught him a few of mine. ⚖️Something we agreed on was that you may be a specialist in this or that walking through the door, but we all should leave the gym as equals; just some hungry souls with wrecked bodies. #beautifultough

This weight has always been mentally so scary for me🙄I missed it twice in a row during last prep - literally didn’t even get it off my chest. - But today, we hit it...narrow grip 😏💁🏻‍♀️issa kind of a PR? Honestly narrow grip has been feeling tighter than normal max grip 😒what have I become!? - Okay that’s all, I’M proud (:

If you can’t handle me at my 🤨😋😈then you don’t deserve me at my...ha i’m always weird so we can’t be friends if you can’t handle it🙅🏻‍♀️Just silly heppi boiz lately, exams are much funn. - The key to silly heppi boiz is to get yourself a human who sends you pictures of dogs and shoes randomly in the middle of the night and hypes you up for your birthday dinner in 2 months🙄 - ✨💖No, seriously, go find yourself friends who make you laugh and appreciate your strangeness and make you want to wake up and get out of bed in the morning👍🏽 #positivevibesonly - OH cleaning your room is also key for the good feelz😌how often do people do that these days 🤔 - 📐Also can we talk about camera angles for two seconds? This is like half a week apart, i’m 53kg in both but look completely different 😬 tHiinN and tHiCccC - Ft. my 2nd fave selfie mirror

505 lbs leadlift PR! Felt smooth but it’s been a while since I’ve deadlifted heavy so body isn’t use to it anymore. Tried 515 lbs and almost got it but no cigar~ squirted some blood out my nose on the attempt so I at least know I put in maximum effort lol #powerlifting #deadlift #conjugate #maximumeffort #mcfattypatty #mcdonaldstime #forgetoronto #forgeperformancefitness thanks @lissawood @stephxchui @hazelmaelift for the hype!!!

Uneven camera angles to match my uneven bar holding skills 🤟🏽 - I’ve completely forgotten how to squat low bar and with a belt (‘: Second week back into it since my meet and the weights are feelin gooood 😏😏happy boiz - Also, this is probably the most even my high bar pin squats have been 😭Usually I hit the right pin before the left, but today I managed to hit them simultaneously 😩oh the progress 👅ft mystery weights heyehueheue - Ok, back to studying 🤓😎

“Say that you’re bossy, ‘cause you are the boss” just kidding i’m just sassy 😈💁🏻‍♀️ - Enjoy watching me do some sub 6 deadlifts, tempo TnG deadlifts (which have become my favourite, i’m weird, get used to it) and front squats that I don’t know how to hold !1!!!1!1 - I’ve been having so much fun at the gym lately 🤗 mostly alone and at the wee hours of the nightime. Sorry to the few people who’ve seen me fooling around at the gym 😜It’s the only way i’ll keep sane during the April exam season 🤯

435x4x4 with a decent 545 single at the end. All done without a belt. All in all good volume and technique continues to improve. The comeback is happening brick by brick.

Working on 🍑 and posterior chain strength today. One of those moves I like to use for my self and my clients is the #hipthrust. Not the greatest setup but it worked 385x4x5 today. The Hip Thrust activates primally 1) Glutes 2) Hamstrings Why do hip thrust? It Isolates hip extension and helps you create more force through the hip. Which is very important for almost any athelte in a explosive or strength based sport. The #hipthrust is also a hinge movement so it's a great way to help practice your hip hinge. The #hipthrust also activates the glutes much more than squats and deadlifts. Squats and deadlifts are great but adding the #hipthruster. Will bring the your glutes to a new level. Moral of the story hip thrusts are a great movement for not just fit chicks, but also athletes or just anyone looking to training optimally.

Bench is finally feeling really smooth again 😈and my baby arch is back!! - For a while now, i’ve been having issues trying to keep my heels planted fully on the ground when I bench. I’ve switched shoes back and forth and sacrificed arch height so I can place my feet further away from my shoulders just to ensure my whole foot was planted. Not trying to get any red lights for silly things here 😣BUT I think converse might be the trick 😏 - Narrow grip: 1x1 @ 80lbs 1x5 @ 65lbs ft my long set up of foot and shoulder shimmies ✌🏽
