Makai Stones has changed!✨ β € β € Hey guys! I (@hustleback), the owner of Makai Stones, just returned from studying and traveling throughout Australia and SE Asia. I have seen more plastic beaches than ever before and it’s been a truly insightful trip. β € β € After seeing tons of junk piling up on the most beautiful islands, I’ve decided to stop selling bracelets on Makai Stones as it doesn’t align with my views anymore. I began this company with hopes of spreading awareness for the threats our oceans are facing and will continue to do so on this account. β € β € Stick around if you want to learn more about how you can do your part to help save our seas and see cute marine animals in you feed. πŸ πŸ¬πŸ‹πŸ¦ˆπŸ™β € β € Thank you all for your support over the past few years! πŸ’™

Epaulette Sharks in the shallows off Heron Island. Walking around this shallow lagoon we spotted at least 5 Epaulettes in about 30 mins. Most were pretty relaxed considering there was still daylight. Such a cool shark. All filmed in about 30-40cm of water on a rising tide. #respectsharks @queensland #thisisqueensland @heronisland . . . . #ocean #thisisqueensland #seeaustralia #ausgeo @southerngreatbarrierreef @nikonaustralia #shark @gbrmarinepark @ocean @australia @discoverocean @queensland @qldparks #greatbarrierreef #protectthereef #marinelife #photooftheday #marinebiology #water #travel #nature #underwaterphotography #amazing_australia #exploreaustralia #exploreaus

Spent the whole day yesterday underwater here at Heron Island. The number of marine animals you can see in one day here is seriously incredible. Too many turtles to count, including adults laying eggs and hatchlings sprinting down the beach, Shovelnose Rays, Cowtail Rays, Eagle Rays, Lemon Sharks, Epaulette Sharks, Blacktip Reef Sharks and more, the list is too long. We were lucky to get crystal clear water and barely any wind too, which you can see from this pic. Thanks @heronisland for the stay πŸ‘Œ. If you haven't been to heron, you need to... Animal vids and photos to come. @queensland #thisisqueensland #heronisland

When turtles are born they use natural cues such as moonlight to find their way to the ocean. In places where there’s a lot of artificial light (from houses etc), the hatchlings can get disorientated and head the wrong way. So if you live near a nesting beach, keep your eyes pealed for any lost little ones! 🐒 🐒 πŸ“· @becdig #turtle #research #health #facts #wildlife #nature #humanimpact #hatchling #moonlight #nesting

Been off grid guys.... Watching for these beautiful majestic turtles to arrive (and depart) how amazing is this turtle mama!! ❀️🐒 They're in trouble guys, they need our help! We are going to be on a mission to help them however we can even if that's baby steps like not using plastic straws and other plastics... Check your home what plastics can you cut out? Toothbrushes, glad wrap, straws... #savetheturtles #quitplastic #turnoffyourlights #plasticfree #heronisland #anoilgrimoire #nowherecompares #ecotourist
