If falling into desperation worked to make things better, then I would say, 'Let's all jump into despair.' But it doesn't help. The only way to truly find meaning and fulfillment is to look at the disaster, the pain, the difficulty, and know with complete certainty that good can come from this. Strasbourg 1)Barrage Vauban and ponts couverts, Barrage Vauban is a 17th century covered bridge that has a terrace on the roof offering beautiful views over the historical centre of Strasbourg. From the bridge you can see Ponts couverts, which are the remains of the medieval walls of Strasbourg. I recommend going back to the Barrage Vauban at night as they are lit up and make for stunning reflection shots Ponts Couverts was an area I kept meaning to get back to, so I could explore during the day but I unfortunately didn’t make it back so I guess I’ll have to go back again someday. 2)La Petite France This was by far my favourite area of Strasbourg and where I spent most of my time exploring the various Christmas Markets. Strasbourg is known as the Capital de Noel and the Christmas markets at the base of the cathedral and around Petite France are numerous and definitely worth a visit if you are in Strasbourg near Christmas, try the raspberry mulled wine it’s delicious. 3)Cathedral of Our Lady Once the tallest building in the world, it’s a stunningly beautiful example of the Gothic Style. I wanted to climb the tower, I hear the views are stunning but poor weather forced the tower to be closed to the public during my stay. 4)Parc de L’Orangerie of Strasbourg A large park with sculpted gardens, a small lake and most importantly for me, a small zoo with real live Flamingoes. 5)Walk everywhere and discover all the hidden sights, it’s near impossible to get lost as you can see the cathedral from almost everywhere and find your way back. 6)The other Cathedral in Strasbourg, is actually quite pretty and has cute cafe across the river you can sit and enjoy the view from. Bonus: Day trip to Colmar, Colmar is another Alsace region town, about an hour by bus away, it’s charming and beautiful and very thing you would except from a small Provençal French Town... it will have you singing Beauty and the Beast songs as you stroll the streets of Petite Venice
