So I kind of geeked out at the Zane Grey museum... I collect vintage Zane Grey novels, just his westerns since I'm also a fan of the American Southwest, and so it felt like a mini pilgrimage. Oh, and my kids were really super duper excited to go there because they love the combination of historic home tours, museums and exhibits of lots of old ephemera that requires a ton of reading. ---
Carpenter Kuhn found his park at the Zane Grey Festival and so did all the visitors who stopped by for the fun activities, music, and festivities! Thanks to everyone involved who helped make the festival a huge success once again.

The home of Zane Grey
Lina Elise Roth was born in New York City in 1883 of German ancestry. Her intelligence led her to attend the Normal School (later Hunter College) with aspirations of becoming a teacher.
In the summer of 1900 Lina and her family took a vacation to the Delaware House in Lackawaxen, PA. It was here that she met and fell in love with young Zane Grey, a dentist in New York.
They married in 1905 and settled in Lackawaxen. Dolly (Zane's nickname for her) encouraged her husband to write and she became his editor and manager. With her strength, encouragement, and editing skills Zane Grey became one of the country's most popular writers.
This partnership lasted until Grey's death in 1939 though Dolly continued to edit and have published over 20 manuscripts that Zane left behind.
