Nope... not a replay from last week!😭😭😭 40 weeks +2 and baby still hasn't decided to show up 🤦🏼‍♀️So here I am, trying to induce labor naturally thanks to some physical activities... Just an extract here of our high volume, low intensity program of the day with my little beast: front squats, regular squats, sumo squats, walking lunges, hack squats, good mornings (for each 6 series, 12 to 20 reps) + 30 min stairs. Second gear on 😅 Anyhow, it was nice to have the support and advices from the other basic fit members 😁👌Appart from the well-known recipes (sex, spicy food, cleaning, walking, stairs, pineapple...), someone told me to just do the contrary of what I'm used to, meaning for nervous people like me, just medidate and relax to release all the tensions my body may hold 🤷🏼‍♀️ Costs nothing trying: bubble bath and zen playlist it is for tonight! 🧖‍♀️😁 I "complain" but it is actually a good thing Enko spends some extra time in my belly. He was around 2,8kg last Saturday and will probably reach 3kg by the time he arrives, which will be less stressful for us when he loses some weight after birth (as it usually happens in their first days). But yeah... no lie, this morning I was a bit fed up (=moody 😡 sorry my love 😇😘) being still big and waiting but I quickly realized I over-reacted: I'm healthy, the baby is healthy, I can do almost anything I want as before I was pregnant and it is only a matter of days now. I guess what I want to get rid of mostly are those bloody hormones ! 😈😇😅 #rollercoastermood

Sometimes practicing a little bit of healthy selfishness, prioritising the things that make you really happy and taking time for yourself can mean that everyone else gets the best parts of you. The good old glute bridges! I love them with double stance and even more with single stance. To make the double “standard” way more challenging you can add a band and or you can make the pace really slow. I love patients to go up to the count of 5, pause for 2 seconds, and return down to the count of 5. - When you go to the single leg glute bridge, you challenge your hip stabilization even more. Try the single leg out and let me know what you think! 🧐 - Many people benefit from training these gluteus exercises. I find the mamas I work with both pregnant and postpartum benefit the most because they have so much instability going on and imbalances in their body that get enhanced from the pregnancy body changes. - The hips are just one region to work on. These glute medius exercises can help with hip stabilization, which can help directly at the hip, but also at the knee joints, SI joints, and low back! - My challenge to you is to see if you can fit in some type of glute medius exercise every day. My pregnant version of 20.1 . 10 x Rds of: 8 x Thrusters @ 25kg 10 x Burpees over the bar (on knees) Time = 14:35 . I wasn't going to do any of the open workouts as I'm an "all in or nothing" athlete but today I decided that doing the open workouts pregnancy style is a.o.k 💯 . Great info on activity guidelines during pregnancy! Pregnancy is not a ‘fragile’ state and position to be in and exercise is still essential! You may want to adapt to more gentle exercise such as pregnancy specific yoga and Pilates or walking as you get into your third trimester or when the size of bump makes things tricky! We also know pelvic girdle pain in pregnancy can make this tricky but specific exercises and manual therapy can help with this! Definitely was only planning on doing some cardio today but after 15 minutes on the elliptical I was like screw this and did some upper body 😂 Peep the cute baby bump in the second and third clip 💙👶🏼 haven’t worked out much this past week because of how I’ve been sleeping/ feeling so this felt well good. Didn’t do anything crazy just kept it simple. The kinky thing I don’t like about my apartment gym is that it doesn’t have any dumbbells but other than that it’s awesome and so spacious 😊 Didn’t have much time so I only worked out for 35 minutes. It doesn’t always have to be a huge workout. S̲U̲N̲D̲A̲Y̲S̲, you either love em or hate em... and I was for sure one that used to hate them. They felt frantic, as if the weekend had just started and was already speeding to an abrupt end!⠀ ⠀ It was as if there was not enough time in the day, no where near enough time to get all my studying done, house work complete, lessons planned for the coming week and student assignments graded....don’t even think about grocery shopping, food prep and lord forbid having time to workout, or hang out with friends and loved ones.⠀ ⠀ I remember seeing people on social media posting about how they’d forget what day it was, or how they loved Mondays, etc. and I just thought it was all bogus! Come to find out they meant it, your days are only as hectic or as frantic as you make them. When I started coaching sure they got a whole lot busier because I added one more thing to my already busy plate but that busy then gave me this freedom now. I knew it would take work, but I also saw very early on that this could give me the freedom I had always dreamed of.⠀ ⠀ Our Sunday’s now look totally different! Today consisted of slow mornings feeling baby kicks, a yummy breakfast cooked by the hubby and a day full of forcing puppy snuggles, cleaning, laughing, and dancing around the house to Disney music as we prep for another incredible week! ⠀ ⠀ PS: I head out of town this week for my final work trip before baby.... I’m not gunna lie, I’m a littler nervous cause I’m going solo and would really love for little miss to keep put but I can’t help fear a little that I’ll go into labor while away and be all alone! 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙡 𝙩𝙞𝙥𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 3𝙧𝙙 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧!? And yes my doctor totally cleared me to travel because I’ve had a very healthy pregnancy. This is just me being a little scared.

Here we are, the 30.5 week #bumpdate😬. This pic was from yesterday when we went for a little hike. You can't see how big she is, but we had an ultrasound this past week and she's a bit ahead! The hubby and I won't be surprised if she pops out a little early, but until then, let's hope she keeps cooking well! Staying active is still when I feel best. Also, many of you responded to my stories asking for breast pump recommendations, so thank you SO much. Most people recommended @spectrababyusa , so I might go that route instead of Medela this time🤷. If you have any other recs, please let me know! #babybump #activepregnancy

It’s becoming impossible to roll over in bed🙈 Ohhh and I can’t seem to sneeze without pissing my pants these days😂 Crossing my legs doesn’t even help anymore🤰🏼 I just keep telling myself this isn’t forever and she will be here before we know it🥰

Massive shout out to @dr.romanzoruns (seriously this deployment sister always has my back whether we’re packing our 9’s to a baby bump) for helping me out with all my pelvic health questions during pregnancy and for pointing me to the pelvic health podcast! I’ve been working out and doing yoga hoping to find the balance of not too much not too little and preparing for birth and beyond. It’s imperative that both men and women learn about pelvic health but for pregnant and postpartum women, we have to take care of our pelvic floors. It’s also good to read up on how you can modify your activities with pregnancy. Crossfit (hate it or love it) can be done and every body and pregnancy is different, something to keep in mind before we all judge. In general though exercise during pregnancy is great and it really helped me with my nausea as odd as that sounds. SUNDAY MOTIVATION • One of my most frequently asked questions in my DM’s is how to get back into exercise in general when motivation is running low. Firstly, don’t panic if you don’t spring out of bed every morning to hurry to workout... Motivation is something that wanes in everyone from the most committed of athletes to both you and I. That being said, I hope I can share some of my top tips to help combat lack of motivation, and to set you up for a week of positive thinking and progression. 1. Get into good habits. We are habitual beings, and quickly what may feel like a chore or a sacrifice (exercise) can quickly turn into a positive habit that slots in to your week. Create positive planning behaviours such as prepping your gym kit the night before, writing out a gym plan or cooking some tasty post workout food to help you get in to the habit of incorporating exercise in to your week. 2. Create positive rewards. A tangible reward is so powerful because your brain can latch on to it and make the link that the behaviour is worthwhile. Whether it’s something simple like a post workout shake, or treating yourself to a new wear in the gym, these rewards can help you to develop a positive mindset around exercise. 3. Fitness friends! I love to workout with other people and find it can be such a sociable activity. If you’re having a period of low motivation, why not text one of your workout partners and plan something together for the week ahead. Even can do this remotely like me! 4. Keep it classy. Classes are a great way to ensure you’re going to get a good workout in. Why not look at your diary this evening and see where you might be able to slot in a few classes. We have some at MUMFITLDN.com/group-training 5. Don’t beat yourself up. The most important thing about lack of motivation is that it isn’t permanent state. It comes and goes, and getting frustrated will only make things worse. Take time to rest, reset and get yourself into a positive mindset regardless if you workout or not. One thing this pregnancy is teaching me is to be patient with myself. Things that used to come easily present more of a challenge. So yesterday when we strapped the bikes to the car and headed up to the mountains I was a little nervous. Biking is not my specialty even when I’m in normal healthy state so I wasn’t sure what to expect of myself this time around. However the crunch of the leaves beneath my tires and the amazing colors that surrounded us took all my worries away. In the end I was so impressed with the hills I climbed. It made me realize that I really can do anything I set my mind to and that I’m amazingly privileged to live in such a beautiful place that inspires me to be active and rewards me with incredible vistas. #trekbikes #watervillevalley #fallfoliage #activepregnancy #getoutstayout #optoutside #findyourpark

I couldn't have imagined the strength and endurance bestowed upon to us women folks, not untill this little person started growing inside me. Taking over my body, my hormones, even my mind. The world continued to spin on its crazy axis, while my body continued to multitask. Being a nerd, I never thought of myself as a physically strong person. Up until then I believed results came from a diet and in my mind a diet was short term. What I’ve learned now is that diets are stupid and if we are constantly dieting we will constantly be yo-yoing in our journey rather than constantly progressing or maintaining.⠀ ⠀ Once I realized that, committing to a long term change became so much more doable. I knew if I wanted to feel good I couldn’t get hung up on a day not going as planned, one single missed workout or “falling off track” it’s life, things happen you’ll have off days but that doesn’t mean you have to start over, simply improve the following day, and over time you’ll have less “slip ups” and the habit will begin to become second nature!⠀ ⠀ I am so incredibly proud of myself for figuring that out prior to getting pregnant because it’s made committing to my journey and pushing through the hard days so much more doable and I know I’m not only staying healthy for myself but also this little babe.⠀ ⠀ Out of curiosity, no shame in your personal choice cause I know we are all different.
