“Between every two pines is a doorway to a new world.” —John Muir Here’s a sneak-peek from a recent mountain engagement session! Peyton and Zach are visiting from Wisconsin (my home state! 🧀❤️), and wanted their engagement photos to capture the true nature of Colorado. When we went into this session we all had the understanding that the weather was probably not going to cooperate, so when it starting pouring during the hike we weren’t really surprised. We were quite surprised though with the heavy hail that hit when we were almost to the top; hovered under a tree with another photographer, we waited it out. Thankfully spirits (and patience) were high, so our waiting paid off! The sky cleared, the fog cleared, and we had an INCREDIBLE night and a clear sunset. We all agreed they got the full Colorado experience 🤣🌧⛰

As the name suggests, red foxes have rusty reddish-brown fur. This can vary in colouration and can give rise to black, silver or cross morphs. Their long, bushy tail, known as a ‘brush’ or ‘sweep’ is often tipped with white fur and the backs of the ears are black, as are part of the legs. They have white underparts. During the autumn and winter, the Red Fox will grow more fur. This so called ‘winter fur’ keeps the animal warm in colder environments. I wanted to share a little about our story with you guys. I feel like maybe someone who reads this needs to hear how dating and marriage isn’t a fairytale. . . It’s a love story. We can chose how it ends but the heavy influence on my generation from all my favorite princesses set us all up thinking Prince Charming was readily available to swoop us up off our feet when we’re in distress. . . So back to our story. I remember going to Disney right after I graduated and flipping through Prince Charming shirts determined for Brandon and I to live this expectation of a fairy tale life. When the reality isn’t that from a story book . . If we set this expectation in our minds as we look for our forever person that it should be as easy as a fairy tale we will FAIL. . . That’s right you heard me. Granted most relationships start off easy breezy, it did for us too. However expecting it to always be that way isn’t going to sustain a healthy relationship. Someone is going to be let down when real life hits. . . We met in high school and instantly were in love and wanted to be together too much probably. Then graduation came and passed. That’s when adult life started for us both. . . We got an apartment together at just 19. We had no idea what we were doing but we were doing it! Growing up with someone is incredibly difficult. Especially under the intense pressure our lives were under with little help from those around us. . . We cracked under that pressure. Twice. We took each other for granted. We treated each other poorly. Ultimately under the pressure I always caved. Because of my expectations. I ran. I left. . After breaking up twice, and for reasons that are so insignificant now, we decided to get married at 20. I feel like I need to write a whole blog post on this but I have had friends ask if it’s supposed to feel like a fairytale. If it’s supposed to be just so so easy. In my opinion. NO. 100% not. That’s not setting anyone up for success. We both look back and realize not many people would make it through what we did, we chose to. We let the little things go and focus on the important even through the hard times. I think it’s better than Disney that way.

It was 100 deg today here in Denver (my car said 104, but I don't believe it)...and it's supposed to be the same tomorrow! 👐 summer has arrived folks, & I LOVE it. The beach is wayyyy too far away from Colorado, and I'm missing the fact that I can't hop in the car and be there on 1.5 hours anymore. So, for now I'm throwing it back to this amazing sunset session in San Diego with these lovebirds. What's your favorite beach you've ever been to?!? I'd love to hear what it is (and then plan my vaca, hah) !

| m a k e u p | - i used to wear so much makeup. - i remember i would color coordinate my eye shadow with the color i was wearing every single day. - i had heard so many times “Teresa, you are beautiful.” - from my parents, grandparents, friends, etc. - however, as a teenager in today’s society, it’s honestly very hard to believe such words. - until one december evening that changed my life. - i was in the kitchen of my parents home with my brother and sister. my sister asked to take a picture with me, and after i responded with “oh my gosh, no way! i look awful - i don’t have any makeup on!” what my brother said, changed everything. - he looked at me right in the eyes and said “Teresa, you look beautiful. you ARE beautiful.” - and in that moment was the first time in my life i truly believed those words that were spoken.💛 - ever since that evening, i wear as minimal makeup as possible, if even any at all.🙌🏽 - so friend, if no one in this life has ever told you, or if no one even today has told, i am here to tell you that YOU are so beautiful. - not because of how on point your winged eye-liner is. not because you have juuuust the right shade of lipstick on. not because you’re really really good at contouring those cheekbones. - you are beautiful because you are you. and you are beautiful, all imperfections included.💛 - and before y’all say that i’m a makeup hater, i will be the first to say i’m absolutely not, and enjoy getting dolled up for special occasions. - all you ladies out there who wear makeup because you love it and enjoy doing so, you do you and never stop.😘🙌🏽 - i am simply here to say this to the girl who feels insecure, and doesn’t feel beautiful. to the girl who uses makeup to hide behind. and to the girl who puts all of her worth in only believing that she looks beautiful if she has powder on her face. - i am here to tell you that your beauty lies in your heart, in your character, in who you are. and we can’t buy any makeup at the store to outshine that beauty.😘 - tag a friend (or three) in the comments below to let them know how beautiful they are!!!😘😘💛👇🏽 xoxo
