No matter how far away from cavemen we become, there will always be very primal needs our minds and bodies need. Our bodies need to be stressed, our minds need to be challenged, we do not grow without conflict, with discomfort. @jockowillink says that it doesn't matter how much you can lift. If you can't fight, than what's the point. I believe him 100%, my lifting is a foundation for survival. My fighting is my tool for quelling the primal needs that surround us on a daily basis. Above all else though, God has given us a special gift. A body capable of so much. I just want to see how capable it is, and praise him along the way. Blur the goal, clear the scope. #usaf #airforce #fight #fitness #progress #benchpress #afsoc #integrityfirst #servicebeforeself #excellenceinallwedo #tangsoodo #tangsoo #tsd #militarymuscle #military #getsome #getafterit

Saw it first this morning on @taskandpurpose but forgot to repost it. Here is is from @havokjournal.... scroll and read below. #moh #wethewillingcollective ・・・ TSgt. John Chapman died alone on a mountaintop fighting Al Qaeda in 2002. Now he’s posthumously getting The Medal Of Honor! Chappy — as he was known by his teammates — will be the first Air Force service-member to receive the nation’s highest award for valor since the Vietnam War for his actions on Roberts Ridge. Chappy immediately performed his own specialized job of combat control — coordinating air strikes and handling communications — with precision, attempting to both protect the team and rescue Roberts, who had activated his infrared strobe to signal his position to friendly forces. Drone footage has captured Chapman, alone and surrounded on top of that mountain, where he continued fighting back for more than an hour. The Air Force combat controller motto, ‘First There,’ reaffirms the combat controller’s commitment to undertaking the most dangerous missions behind enemy lines by leading the way for other forces to follow. Chapman gave his life along with six others in an effort to rescue PO1 Neil "Fifi" C. Roberts. We will absolutely never forget them nor their sacrifice. We lost seven warriors that day. The absolute definition a fighter. #Respect Repost from greeneyeddevils ~🙏🏽🇺🇸 “Tech. Sgt. John Chapman, the combat controller who was killed during the fierce Battle of Roberts Ridge in Afghanistan in 2002, will be posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, according to a report in Task and Purpose. Chapman would be the first airman to receive a Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest award for valor, for actions since the Vietnam War. Chapman originally received an Air Force Cross, the second-highest valor award an airman can receive, for his heroism during the March 4, 2002, battle against al Qaida fighters. But newly-enhanced video from a Predator drone showed more evidence that Chapman was not dead, but instead unconscious, when a team of Navy SEALs withdrew from the battle under withering fire. The video analysis suggested Chapman regained consciousness and resumed fighting al Qaida members approaching on three sides. Chapman is believed to have crawled into a bunker, shot and killed an enemy fighter charging at him, and killed another enemy fighter in hand-to-hand combat. This new evidence prompted former Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James in 2016 to recommend his Air Force Cross be upgraded to the Medal of Honor.” —— More at Air Force Times. #CCT #AFSOC

Out... fucking... standing.... the first Airman to receive the Medal Of Honor since the Vietnam war. TSgt John Chapman was unfortunately killed during the battle for Takur Ghar in Afghanistan in 2002. Chapman during the fighting, was mistakenly thought to be dead when he lost consciousness by the SEAL's (from DEVGRU) he was attached to, and they LEFT him. So much for "I will never a fallen comrade". When he regained consciousness, he continued to fight for another hour until he was eventually overwhelmed by enemy forces. There is more, and the article is definitely worth the read, I'll post the link in the comments! #medalofhonor #johnchapman #airforce #afsoc #24thsts #cct #combatcontroller #oaf

BE THE EXAMPLE and EXCEED THE STANDARD. ---------------------------------------------------- A phrase I heard often as a young trooper from military leadership yet rarely saw it practiced by those so called leaders. I developed disdain, disgust even, of senior men who could not perform the fundamental warrior skills above the level of his subordinates. ---------------------------------------------------- They always had excuses... injuries, lack of support from higher, and fa...mily were popular. But there is no acceptable excuse... none. Not one. ---------------------------------------------------- I always reckoned if you're too injured to perform, you should get out. If you are unwilling to train on your own, get out. If your wife and kids are your priority, not your teammates, get the fuck out. ---------------------------------------------------- I work with so many young troopers. I consider it my foremost obligation to be an example. It's why I run. It's why I lift. It's why I shoot. It's why I continue to push despite a broken femur, broken vertebrae, broken arm, broken ribs and a severe TBI. It's why when I demo a drill like The Soul Crusher to next generation hitters, I give it my all. It's why when I drop even a single round I swear like I did I the video. Now, moe than ever the young guys NEED to see they can remain fit and ready through their entire careers. ---------------------------------------------------- The entire SOF community is full of broke dicks and fat guys. The warrior ethos is absent in our entire military. The next war we fight may not be with desert peasants, but rather with a well equipped force that possesses the true warrior mindset, one that places killing us and either destroying all the things we take for granted or taking it for themselves. Those enemy could very well be воины. ---------------------------------------------------- Tip of the hat to the young troopers. You've chosen a thankless career. Now choose to master every skill required. #NoExcuses #TrainHard #specialforces #dol #rltw #seals #raiders #recondos #afsoc #capable #liftrunshoot #warriorethos #cqc #longrangeshooting #AR15 #2A #oaf #hardenthefuckup

Came Over From @Socomathlete: 📸: USO Airman of the Year @hammertimeyo2 PJ | SSGT John Hamilton | 23STS While attached to 7th Special Forces operational detachment unit in Afghanistan, Hamilton and his team came under heavy enemy machine-gun fire from a nearby compound. Hamilton suppressed the effective enemy fire while treating his mortally wounded Green Beret brothers, and extracting them to a safer location. PJ SSGT John Hamilton never quit, and never will...Will you? 🇺🇸 • One of the unique capabilities/expectations of Air Force Pararescuemen (PJs) includes attaching to any/every SOCOM/SOF entity. Often the sole PJ on the team, special tactics squadron PJs adapt to the needs of their team spontaneously. May The Lord forbid it ever happens, but if the worst day of these men’s lives approaches them on the battlefield...this sole PJ will rise... . . . . . #greenfeet #pararescue #usaf #thatothersmaylive #afsoc #pj #combatrescue #csar #toml #rescue #sof #pjs #usairforce #cro #paramedic #combatsearchandrescue #pararescuefoundation #cct #airforce #combat #military #sere #haho #hero #pedro #specialoperations #angelofmercy #winning #300winmag #guardianangel at United States
