Last weeks workouts weren’t the best, actually they were down right dreadful, But I got them done. Today I Took a break from my Netflix library of workouts and did something I LOVE to do, run! It’s my first run since 11/1/18 and I’m proud that I still have it! It’s so easy to lose what you work so hard for with running, real quick. #youknowwhatimean . . . I needed this today. I needed the music and to just “go” without thought. I sang at the top of my lungs to some music that pushes me, I sweat and I felt the burn. Now post run I feel more focused for my busy day ahead. #anxietyrelief . . . Picking back up with my workout schedule tomorrow and will continue until spring 2019. It’s so nice having a game plan and the flexibility to do what I love at the same time (running and workout programs!) #irunthisbody

A study back in 2014 had participants spend an average of 27 minutes per day for 8 weeks practicing mindfulness exercises, and this is all it took to stimulate a major increase in gray matter density in the hippocampus, the part of the brain associated with self-awareness, compassion, and introspection. . Don’t worry about what you don’t know, life’s a dance you learn as you go. A wise woman reminded me of these lyrics when I felt overwhelmed with self doubt and worry. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My Mom has always been someone I looked up to and admired. She was 18 when I was born. At 25 she went to college for the first time and just five years later graduated as a pharmacist. She taught me how to be independent, strong, to never give up and to go after my dreams no matter what other people think. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s because of her that I have accomplished the things I have in my life. Like moving over 1000 miles away to graduate school alone at 22. That foundation I have from her is so strong. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I started not knowing how to make healthier choices. How often do you tell yourself: I will start tomorrow! I will start Monday! I will start the first of the year! How often does that time come and go and you still didn’t start? Now ask yourself- what is holding me back from starting TODAY!? .. This is what I hear from you: I’ve tried so many FAD diets and they never last longer than a few weeks! I can’t afford it! I don’t have the time! It’s too close to Christmas! I’m pregnant/breastfeeding! I’m too overweight to do what you do! I don’t like to eat healthy! . . Here is what I say to that: This is NOT a fad diet but rather a full mindset lifestyle change! I believe anyone can AFFORD this and here is why-if you do what I do as a coach you can not only get it paid for in the first week BUT you can also build this into a full time 6 figure earning business! Keep in mind we all have the same 24 hours so when I hear people say they are too busy what that is just telling me is you are not making yourself a priority! I’m a single momma of 3 , working full time as a nurse and I MAKE TIME! This is the perfect time to start! Give yourself the best Christmas gift ever.... your health! Girl TREAT YOUR SELF this year! We spend so much time worrying about the gifts we are going to give others but WHY? when in reality we need to fill our cup up first before others! Did you know they have a specific program for pregnancy! Yeah and all the supplements are OK for breastfeeding mommas too! So that’s frikken awesome I think! We all have to start somewhere! If you feel you are too overweight for the physical workout aspect then guess what girl we have NUTRITION ONLY programs! That’s right! Let’s start with getting your nutrition on track and THEN we will add in the exercise portion! And last but not least I HATE veggies! Haha but not all healthy eating is just veggies! There are so many amazing options even healthy treats! So there you have it! Everything you’ve been using as an excuse summed up right there! . . I had high hopes of sleeping in today til 5am but I woke up in a panic thinking that I was late for work at 3:30am 🙈. So instead of going back to bed & tossing and turning for an hour, I decided to wake up and crush my workout. And I’m so glad that I did because I almost did a triple plyo push up for the first time ever (which is insane because I used to be the girl that couldn’t even do ONE push up on my knees). Seriously have no idea what @thechrisdowning is doing to me but I’m loving every second of this program.

I have not been feeling festive, but it was time to bring some Christmas cheer into our home and hearts 🌟✨ I’ll be honest with you, anxiety and tis the season to be jolly don’t go together like I wish they would. I want to feel excited and I’m instead feeling quite empty ( which then makes me feel guilty) I pushed myself for the kids though, they are excited, so I put on a smile and Christmas carols and decorating commenced. I may not feel excited, but I do truly feel so very blessed!!!!! I wish I could always offer help and advice for mental health issues. But the truth is, it’s not always okay. I’m not always fighting and I’m not always winning the battle. I’ve been through a pretty low struggle lately. Wishing i could go back to the summer when it was warm before I switched meds. When everything wasn’t so frustrating and life success actually seemed within reach. Wishing I was everything that I know I can be but that right now I just can’t be. I have no wise words. When I found out I couldn’t run the Honolulu Marathon I was devastated. I felt defeated and my running just completely stopped. It was a mental defeat that I easily could’ve dismissed and just kept running anyway but as my anxiety always seems to do, it consumed me. • But today, after I finally feel like I’m kicking the anxiety in the 🍑, I got out in my new running shoes, and conquered 2 miles. • I wasn’t sure how this was going to go if I’m being honest but with much surprise it was pretty awesome. I think I’m ready to start training for a race again ❤️

It’s after 11:00. If I had to go to a gym for this, I’d be in bed right now 🤷🏼‍♀️ But I’ve been kicking my own butt all week at home, and it showed tonight! I beat my score by 34 points! Next week I’ll beat it by 34 more 💯💯 My goal was to be a single point better. But I was an average of 2 points better for EVERY move 💃🏻👏🏼 There is no better feeling than beating your own records. At home I only have to worry about me. I am my only competition. The only eyes on me are the ones in my family’s heads. The only sweat I have to worry about is mine. The only equipment I need is mine. My trainer streams on my computer/phone/tv and tells me how to do moves safely and with maximum results. No gym ever helped me lose anything except the smalls shreds of self esteem I had left. But these at home programs that I SWORE would NEVER work? They’ve helped me lose 50 pounds permanently. . How are you carving out some time for yourself this weekend to replenish? . It seems as though as women, we tend to sacrifice time for ourselves and drop it way down on the “to-do” list. Those thoughts about getting just a few more things done for the holidays, or I need to get the house clean or laundry done, or my family needs me to do this and this, make it seem near impossible to set time aside for you. . Here’s the thing though....all of those things are important, but not at the expense of wearing yourself thin and becoming over extended. It only takes a few minutes every single day to recharge and reset. . Anyone else agree? I’d love to hear one way you carve out time for yourself each day. Even if it is only for 20 minutes.

Guilt. Mom guilt. Spouse guilt. Teacher guilt. ⁣ ⁣ It made my list of priorities look like this:⁣ 🌟Kids⁣ 🌟Husband⁣ 🌟Family⁣ 🌟Work⁣ 🌟Housework⁣ 🌟Pets⁣ 🌟Everything else⁣ 🌟Me⁣ ⁣ I always felt like everyone and everything needed to be taken care of first. I felt bad being away from the house by myself. I am naturally a people-pleaser, so I couldn’t wrap my head around letting anyone down or not putting other people’s needs and feelings ahead of my own. ⁣ ⁣ Until I just couldn’t do it anymore. I didn’t know who I was besides the titles I held in my relationships with others. Mom. Wife. Teacher. Daughter. Aunt. Coworker. Friend. I knew how to be each of those things, but I never did anything that was just for me. Niki. ⁣ ⁣ I can’t stress enough how important it is for YOU to be at the top of your priority list. It took me a long time to figure out self care...to leave the house for coffee or errands or make time for a workout or simply say no to someone else’s request. Once I made my health a priority, I became a priority. ⁣ ⁣ Take care of others. But first, take care of yourself.

For me mental health > physical health As much as I 💖 getting fit focusing on my physical health and nutrition some days I just need a break. I’ve had a great week learning the ins and outs of my new job but I have no capacity for anymore info and I am just processing. If you know me you know I like to keep going but sometimes I just need to force myself to take a break. It was nice going watching Christmas movies, having breakfast made for me, picking up a good friend from Portland and getting lunch and Salt N Straw with them! I have a secret to share………. I was waiting to say anything to see how things went!!!!! : : : 8 WEEKS!!!! It’s been 8 weeks since I have taken any medication for my ANXIETY!!!! You have no fucking idea how huge this is!!! This has been some of the hardest 8 weeks of my life and I can’t even say how much I mean that. But I have still been showing up as myself, for myself and I am doing AMAZING. June of 2017 I decided to embark on a journey of becoming medication free. I was medicated for 9 years! I had no idea the struggles and self-reflection that would come from this journey. I had no idea what it would look like being off and what does life look like living without it. Well I am living it and it’s hard, but I AM DOING IT!!!!! I AM DOING IT! * * Do you know how many times I said – I am just a person who chemically needs medication, there is nothing I can do…. And continued to just do nothing. Do you know how many times my Psychologist said – “Andrea you should also accept being off medication, just may not be for you... You have a goal and you’re persistent, but also do not lose sight that you may need something”… ~ HELL TO THE NO… I was like I appreciate you saying that so I do not think I am a failure if this does not work… but I am determined. Month and month went on. ~ I dropped doses…. And then would go back up. I would drop again and have a panic attack. I would have times I just cried, times I felt like minutes felt like hours with my heart racing, times I said the most irrational things… ~ But each day everything gets better. Each day is a day I survive and realize – this isn’t so bad. I can do this. ~ Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with me and CONTINUES to support me. I feel like I couldn’t have done this without you. And when I need that support I know all of you will be there. That helps you really have no idea!! THANK YOU. ~ This journey is just beginning and I am so ready for what is next at Rochester, New York

Why not push past our own self-created limits? How many self-created, self-imposed, self-made limits and fake ceilings have you placed on yourself in different areas of your life? We know we can do, be, and become more but we give in to temptations, play small, and accept “normal”. Your life. It’s happening. Right here and now and it’s not stopping for anybody and anything. Are you living it to your fullest potential?! ⁣⁣ I will be honest and say that a few months ago I wasn’t living a life anywhere close to where I wanted to be. I was unhappy, overweight, swimming in debt, unfulfilled, and competed lost when it came to what the hell I was doing with my career. 😞⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ They say opportunity pops up when you least expect that. And girlfriend, is THAT the truth! When I was given the opportunity to become an online health and fitness coach, I was in no position to turn it down. What could I lose at that point? 🤷‍♀️⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ A whole lot of weight, that’s what! But here’s the thing, that’s literally the tiniest fraction of what this opportunity has really done for my life. Because of coaching I have found what I’m truly passionate about, what I want to do for the rest of my life, and that’s help others. ❤️I found a way to bring in a second income to help pay off my debt and secure a better future for my family. 💸I found a community of badass women who uplift and support each other every frikin day. 👯‍♀️ And most importantly, I found myself. 🦄 I found the happy girl who loves to smile and laugh and feels confident in her own skin. 💃☺️💁‍♀️⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Be honest babe, does your job offer you the ability to achieve all of those? In the books 📚 December’s virtual boot camp sneak peek has come to its completion and I couldn’t be more proud of the ladies who gave it their all 👏👏👏⠀ •⠀ One of my favorite parts of running an online accountability group is getting to share in our lives, the stories that brought us together and the goals we accomplish as a team 💕😊 ⠀ •⠀ December is a hard month to take on such a challenge as testing out a new health and fitness regime. There are a lot of holiday parties, family events and end of year business that keeps one distracted. ⠀ •⠀ Life is full of distractions, but knowing there is a safe space to be encouraged and allowed to focus on your personal growth is a rare gift. One that the ladies in my boot camp got to experience first hand.
