The Seattle building located at 400 Yesler Way was constructed as a Municipal Building in 1909 and provided space for Seattle City offices, the City jail, an emergency hospital, the police department, and a health and sanitation department. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #seattlehistory #seattleartmuseum #canonusa⁣ #buildingphotography #cityscapephotography #cityexplore #citygram #explorethecity #cityexplorer #citytravel #citysights #streetviews #cityview #streetpics #architectphotography #architecturephoto #architecturedaily #architecturebest #architecture_magazine #architecture_greatshots #srs_buildings #ptk_architecture #archi_features #minimal_lookup #buildingswow⁣ #sensational_architecture #symmetricalmobs⁣ at Seattle, Washington

“STILL. SILENT. COLD. ALONE. Air rushes from TOP to BOTTOM forcing CHILLS down your BACK. Iterative LIGHT forces brief glinces of ART. Time is IRRELEVANT inside. where the SILENCE causes anxious THOUGHTS of EMPTINESS. YOU are ALONE. ALONE with ART.” - @hughadare An exhibition design for representation III. at The University of Adelaide

In view is the Maison Latapie, completed in 1993 by Lacaton & Vassal in Floirac, France. Despite a rather low-budget and the initial suggestion by the clients that it occupy around 80 square meters, the architects were able to provide 180 square meters without any cost increase. This extra space meant that programs would no longer need to be constrained to their tightly assigned boxes, and allowed for looser definitions. Through their doubling of space, Lacaton & Vassal transformed the nature of the initial, expected spaces. As the architects write, “a wooden volume, clamped into the frame behind the opaque sheeting, defines an insulated and heated winter space opening onto the conservatory and the street-side exterior. The conservatory faces east and gets the early morning sun. It's an inhabitable part of the house, equipped with ample ventilation panels for comfort in summer.” Photograph by Philippe Ruault. at Floirac

A carefully crafted extension appearing as three smaller objects, rather than one imposing surface. In the centre of the original house the small light well containing a beautiful, yet constrained, Japanese maple tree has been retained. Despite its narrow allotment, the house feels spacious and generously proportioned. This is thanks to clever design decisions and spacial planning. ————————————————————— 📍Location: Fitzroy, Australia 🏠 Architect: Austin Maynard Architects 📷 Photographer: Peter Bennetts 📆 Project year: 2012 ————————————————————— Tag #houseextension Follow @houseextension for more ————————————————————— #architecture_best #architectuur #architecture_magazine #architecturedrawing #architecturelife #architectureschool #housedecor #houseware #housebeautiful #housedesign #designhouse #houserenovation #housenation #houseoftheday #housegoals #househunters #designboom #designlife #designdaily #designbuild #designlove #designinspo #designoftheday #designporn #archidesign #archi_unlimited #architecturephoto #architecture_best #homeideas #homedesigns at Fitzroy, Victoria

Honorable Mention: Mikayla Beckwith and Katherine Truluck's thesis, "Embracing the Americans Atlantis: Designing for a Post-Disaster New Orleans. For decades, society has had an obsession with flooding and disasters relating to water. However, unlike in the dystopian representations of our imagination portrayed in film, television, and literature, there is no romanticism or spectacle behind the narrative of cities that experience these disasters for real. New Orleans has dealt with the repercussions of disaster for centuries and unlike in media, the city does not get a fantastical resolution. Instead, New Orleans will flood and become a ruin of itself unless it is designed to function as an adaptive water city. In the year 2100, New Orleans is flooded and reduced to a fraction of its previous grandeur. The rising sea level has reduced the city to an archipelago settled between the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico. Through the implementation of a transportation and program core system, the archipelago of territories is reconnected and the programmatic organization of the land is redistributed Advisor: Mitesh Dixit @mikaylasierra21 @stripedkatt at Syracuse Architecture

When I was 14 and I decided to become an architect (still in progress 😂) , I met a mom of my friend on the street. She asked me what had I decided to do in my future and I told her about architecture. She said: “Yeah, architecture is interesting, but today people have only grey concrete and it’s so boring“. . I had no idea about contemporary architecture at all😅, but I didn’t pay any attention to her words. Now I know for sure, that architecture nowadays is more exciting than ever🖤. . We can do so much more than our ancestors, we think so much further than people used to think, we can build unreal constructions with new materials, we can use robots to analyze the space and build new form based on this analysis, we can plan transformative spaces and bring more and more functions in the room 🚀. . Does it really seems so, that all we have is grey concrete? P.S. and I’m so glad I didn’t believe her 😂 at Graz, Austria

Swipe left . BY CONNECTING TWO DIFFERENT BUILDINGS WE HAVE A GRATE TUNNEL IN THE AIR IN WHICH WE CAN CONSIDER GREEN SURFACES WITH ARTIFICIAL WATERFALLS TO PURIFY THE AIR . Also, the city can profit from the newer look by balcony-pools and it will create a modern face to the damaged polluted areas of the city. This technique will be extremely valuable to boost the environmental psychology level of the city . @architecture_hunter @allofrenders @allofarchitecture @designboom @arqsketch @renderlovers @morpholio @adesignersmind @tentree @archdose @norge @autodesk @coronarenderer @houses @buildingswow @onlyforluxury @epicworldpix @render.vis_realestate @highclass_homes @renderbox.magazine @archdaily @canonru @instarender @d.signers @architecturedose @archdigest @next_top_architects @boss_homes @architect_need @artsytecture @restless.arch @archilovers @wacommunity @architectureoskar @render_contest @vogueliving @modern.architect @architecturenow @locarl @globalspaces @wildernessnation @awesomelife.style @timeouthomes @modernhepcat @haroldmag @theprotraveler @creativefields @travelerstodolist @living_hotels @dreamlixurytraveler @venture_easy @mowellens @camplifecoffee @architectureinteriors @archlook.ir @folksouls @trawelawesome @travacs @designwanted @hezzahtrawel @amazingtravelof @nature.tome @kings_shots @aframefever @worldstip @bocadolobo @piclab @effects @exceptional_pictures @the.beachman.life @natgeoit @igworld_global @pietrogiovannigamba @ourplanetdaily @norgerundt @travelses @fancy.homes @mimaribilgiler @architectanddesign @outside_project @openairarchitecture @interiorselfie @myluxguide @pclimd @studioantonini @_archidesignhome_ _____________________________________

I was having a siesta in the afternoon when I woke up I see all the floating colourful notes again. Having Synesthesia is something I am grateful for because I can always create some thing out of it. I sat on the piano and I started playing the notes. I will upload the new song in my SoundCloud account later on this week. But yeah I’m blessed beyond measure. The colours are all music notes. It’s an old turn table with all the old vinyl LP on top of each other. The song titled “ The Old Song Of Time By RM”. Sometimes it comes with a title or lyrics when I see the musical notes. I surprise myself again too.
