Day 3: Fundamentals; Balance✅🧘‍♀️💜 Been loving these first few days of Yoga! I wanted to do a full fast forwarded video of the 28minutes... but that would be a lot, so here’s a couple videos of most of today’s yoga. Side note: I swear I don’t have hairy armpits😂🤣 I have a rash on them... either from my razor or it’s my psoriasis being very annoying🙄🙄 but hey, life is good anyway✌️💜 Not that it’s a huge concern of mine, but I am down almost 10lbs I. The last 11/2-2months🤗 but I sure to Feel so good! So I’m going to keep up my eating well and not getting out of control eating crap I know doesn’t align with my life and goals! You may not know this about me, but I’m a control freak. 😜 I like to take care of things myself and I like to know what to expect. Anyone else? . . And that’s one thing I didn’t like about gym classes. I had no control of the time, the workout or the instructor. Sometimes I would walk into a class, see who the instructor was and leave because I just didn’t mesh with them. It wasn’t that they were bad but they just weren’t my style. Or I would finish a workout class and not really enjoy it. I wanted to have control over it. Please tell me I’m not the only one?! 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ . . That’s honestly why I love working out at home! I control when I workout, who my trainer is and what workout I do. It just works for me! And with over 700 workouts, I never get bored! Plus our company is always adding new workouts. 6 years ago I cancelled my gym membership, and I’ve never once regretted it!

Even when we’re having good days, sometimes that voice creeps in and points out where you’re flawed. . I didn’t post these two slides today in my stories because I felt self conscious about my stomach area. . When it comes down to brass tacks, it’s all about the angles. Because right before I did this workout, I took a selfie where I felt awesome about how much slimmer my abdominal area looked. I saw these videos, and my thoughts immediately went the other way, and I starting thinking about how much work I still have to do. . Soon after, one of the amazing ladies posted in our accountability group about being vulnerable. And I realized that (a) I’m being way too hard on myself, because I have already seen amazing results and I’m still driving hard; and (b) someone else, somewhere needs to know that we all struggle at times, no matter how well we are doing. . I’m not the type of person who likes to go to the gym and show off my body. I go to the gym and I always wear my hoodie... ALWAYS! It’s a security blanket for me to be honest. My mom always says to me, “you work so hard on your body and you wear that hoodie and nobody can see how small you really are under it all. I am on this page, I try to promote everyone to step out of their comfort zone and go for it! Whatever that may be... so I’m going to try to practice what I preach and try to film some of my exercises without my hoodie. This is uncomfortable to me and I’m not use to it. I felt as if it was the first time I was at the gym and that fear of everyone looking at me was very much present. I’m taking baby steps and In this video I’m still wearing 2 layers 😂😂.. but it’s a little more form fitting.... don’t judge me guys! Lol anyway in this video I’m doing SIDE LEG RAISES- Side leg lifts strengthen and build up the muscles of the hips, helping them to look larger. ... Leg day! I could feel it more today than leg day last week. Oof. I am still not able to move my body normal after sciatica spasms, like kicking my leg/extending it in front, BUT I didn’t let that stop me. I could have easily used it as an excuse to skip my workout today, and last year I probably would have. I didn’t though because YOU are keeping me accountable, the amazing challenge group I am plugged into is keeping me accountable, and I deserve better than loafing around on the couch when clearly I can still do 95%of the workout anyway. •• •• Let your body rest when it needs to, BUT girl if you can do the majority of it then just do that-give it your best that you can do and get it done! Sometimes letting silly excuses stop us from being better or having more out of life is really just that-silly! Don’t let it happen! Fun fact- I creeped on my coach for nearly a whole year while I struggled to lose weight (and keep it off) with fad diets, pills and other weight loss products... and absolutely hated every minute of it. 🚨Trying something new. Every Wednesday I’ll post my workout from that morning or either the day before. . 📸Take a screen shot and give the workout a try. . 🙋🏻‍♂️Tag a few friends that could use some new workouts. I’m also trying a new training technique using RPE (Rating of Perceived Exertion). . 👉What it is: RPE is a way for coaches and athletes to self-regulate their training intensity. When used in a personal setting it can be a way to determine your training intensity, as opposed to using percentages. On a coaching level RPE can be a way to gain an understanding of an athlete’s level of exhaustion, plus what they have left in the tank. . 👉Who it can benefit: Science has shown benefit in both novice and experienced lifters, but experienced lifters tend to benefit more (as they have a higher training age). . 👉How to use it: The ratings go from 1-10, 1 being absolutely no effort, 10 being your maximum. It’s important to develop what these numbers mean to you. Often they’re very similar among coaches and athletes, but they can vary a little. The below numbers are my interpretation and often are similar with other coaches in the strength world. 10 – At your max, you have no more reps. 9 – There’s another rep in the tank, but it’s a grind. 8 – You’re beginning to hit your 2-4 rep stride. 7 – Often the weight that can be moved with power, but still facilitate strength (5-7ish reps). 6 – Weight that can moved quick and utilized with speed work (+/- 8 reps pending on speed/training goal). 5 – This weight that can be used as warmup and prep for heavier weights. 4 & below – Lightweight that can be used for mobility, recovery, and form emphasis. at Rosemary Beach, Florida

The past few weeks I’ve been doing a shift, moved to our new home 🏠, packing, unpacking, purged lots of things, new beginnings, setting new intentions for the new year ahead and seeing how I can truly reach struggling moms. Got to thinking and began reflecting to why I started and where I was mentally and physically and how I felt and knew I wanted to lead from there. A healthier lifestyle means a happier mom. Which lead me to PREnatal and POSTnatal Fitness because that’s where I needed help most. Never got it 14 yrs ago. Made better choices 9 yrs ago still didn’t hit the mark until about 4yrs ago. The fact that majority of my Fit Squad are women, moms, busy, pressured and overwhelmed, I’m closing my Round 3 of workout since September and now that’s empowered me to switch gears a bit‼️ While some of my tribe will be going onto their Round 2 with a cardio, HIIT, weightlifting program. I’ll also be leading a ✨To Be Fit Group✨ To Be Fit is for preggo mommas, moms just starting on their journey who want to learn how to stay active with their changing (or new) body and feel more comfortable during each stage of this journey both pregnancy and afterwards. I know when I first started on my journey when my I had my babies and wanted to get back to me, I didn’t know where to start. I was mess, uncomfortable and at home workouts were ideal but I didn’t have the community that I have now nor the tools and mindset. I want to offer that to moms because I get it. We will be focusing 80% on nutrition fueling our bodies properly and 20% on daily movement. Which means for mommas who don’t yet have clearance to workout post pregnancy this group is for you too!!! Today I worked out in silence. ((Not by choice 😳✖️)) ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Our trainer said absolutely NOTHING except for the word NEXT to signal you to look up and move on to the next move. I was nervous as heck to do a workout with just my thoughts. I thought I was always the kind of person to need someone else to lean on for support. I need that constant communication, that constant push, that constant cheering. But today I realized I don’t. I can do hard things and completely lean into it by myself. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ When it comes down to it no one can do this for you. You have to make a decision to go do it. To push past the excuses and work. That feeling when you finally feel like you’re doing what you’re meant to be doing! ✨⁣ ⁣ I’m absolutely in love with my clients and my business right now. Everything is flowing and coming together so nicely. ⁣ ⁣ With that being said, I honestly didn’t feel this way until this week. I have 3 new clients that started this week and I finally feel like I have some momentum. But the last few months (since I started this adventure) have been really rough.⁣ ⁣ I’ve experienced many feelings of:⁣ 😔 Self doubt⁣ 💔 Unworthiness ⁣ 😩 Overwhelm⁣ ❌ Fear of failure⁣ 🤯 Impatience⁣ ⁣ And it hasn’t been fun. ⁣ ⁣ And I’ve noticed that these are feelings I’ve experienced in the past when starting something new. You may be feeling some of these right now if you’re trying to start a fitness journey and you feel like you’re not making any progress.⁣ ⁣ So I wanted to share with you 3 things that helped me get through this time in hopes that they will help you too!⁣ ⁣ 3️⃣ Things You Can Do To Help When You Feel Stuck:⁣ ⁣ 💚 1. Have a plan. ⁣ So you feel like you aren’t making progress towards you goals. Well, do you have a plan you’re following to get there? If not, first things first you need to either make one or get some help making one. ⁣ ⁣ 💙 2. Trust the process. ⁣ So now you have a plan. Do you have any faith in it? Are you even following it? If not, I suggest doing some journaling on what is blocking you from following your plan and/or having faith that it will bring you to where you’d like to go.⁣ ⁣ 💜 3. Have patience. ⁣ Especially if your goal is weight loss or muscle building. You can’t do either of these things overnight. It takes time and consistency. Show up for yourself and the results will follow.⁣ ⁣ I can’t thank you all enough for supporting me so far on my journey as a coach. I’m here to support you too! My forever woman crush Wednesday goes to my bestie and coach Ashley. With the spirit of high school musical season upon us, here we are senior year circa 2004. She had a lead and I had a dancer role. We had so much fun with this musical and it was a complete success. : Being my coach she has again taken the lead, but has lead me to do the same. Today we got up and took the opportunity to work out together (virtually). Although we wish we were neighbors it is so wonderful to be able to connect through messages and video chat. She has helped guide me for success in my goals as well as being an amazing mentor so I can assist others in doing the same. : Even though she is my woman crush Wednesday for life, I have a whole community of women that I crush on daily. ✅AT HOME ABS | SIMPLE & EFFECTIVE!! .. All you need is A SINGLE DUMBBELL for these three ab-targeting exercises! .. ⚡️WORKOUT: . Crunch + Reach x12 reps . Russian Twist x30 reps . Crunch + Dumbbell Hold x12 reps .. Repeat these exercises back-to-back X3 with 30 seconds rest in between rounds and ZERO rest in between each exercise! .. You can do this at home, at the gym, and with OR without a weight! Just add more reps if you’re not using a dumbbell. .. BTW I feel so much better since I’ve taken three days off from the gym while I recovered from my cold🤧👉🏼🤩 and today I got a solid leg workout in! .. Taking a few days off won’t hurt your progress in the long run if you come right back to your consistency after your short break! Snow day today ❄️ and also a rest day In my workout program . So I went to an old favorite ... PIYO sweat after a morning of working . ❄️On days like these I am happy I can stream my workouts from the comfort of my home ( and iPad ). ❄️ Seriously ... having that flexibility has been a game changer for me . I personally struggled getting to the gym Consistently , knowing what to do at the gym , and even getting to classes on time . Not to mention ... those bad weather days ... 🤦‍♀️ Who else has struggled with this ? 3 1/2 years ago I decided to try something different . Sure I had some dvds at home but never had a plan on when and how to use them So ... I started working out following a DVD program . 30 minutes a day . That was it . So... it was hard at first but I also had this awesome online girl tribe cheering me on for accountability @danaloverde @fitmama_keren So...I kept going and it became a habit . So then ... i wanted to start trying different workouts . And fell in ❤️ with all of the options . I ❤️that all the programs followed a plan . All I had to do was press play and mark the x on the calendar when I was done . Fast forward three years ...now there are a TON of options for streaming Seriously . and always new ones being added Think Netflix for fitness . Seriously ... game changer ( and less 💰 than Netflix) I’d be happy to share more information on all the things ... if this is something that you think could work for you . ? You know....I sit here in the mindset I’m in now and I feel so accomplished in how far I’ve come, not only physically but mentally! There were a lot of years wasted in the world I grew up in, self limiting beliefs, doubt, fear, self consciousness and unworthiness, feeling like all I was good for was “a good time” ....(take that how ever you want to lol) I was always the party girl, the girl who could drink most guys under the table, one of the boys, the first one to arrive and the last one to leave. 🙋🏻‍♀️🍺 As you get older, obviously things change, you grow and mature, you get married, have kids, get divorced, whatever the case may be, but your mindset never really changes or grows with you. BUT, a magical thing happens when you really start to analyze your past self and realize that it’s time to start unlearning the shit you learned and most of the crap that you were taught to believe, and start to rewire your brain to a new self loving way to process your thoughts. 🧠 Finding this new “health and fitness lifestyle” has been a real honest to goodness, life changing experience and believe me when I say, I’ve never felt better. Easy peasy peachy squeezy! 😆🍑 I have definitely always been quad dominant, and banded glute activation exercises have been super helpful in allowing me to feel certain exercises where I want to feel them. They also have helped loosen my Piriformis (muscle in upper/outer buttocks) and has helped alleviate some of my lower back pain! 🥰 DISCLAIMER it has helped ME PERSONALLY. ➖➖➖➖➖➖ 💥This is PART 1 of my glute activation routine. I do this and then go through a series of banded standing exercises! 💥REPS: I usually do anywhere from 15-30 reps for each exercise, 2-3 sets 💥Remember to perform the exercises on both sides, even if only one side is video’d 💥Sometimes activation exercises can be awkward, so if you feel that way, grab a mat and find a corner to do them in OR go into your gym’s classroom if no classes are going on! 💃🏻 💥Try this before your next lower body day OR even as an at home workout and let me know how it goes! ➖➖➖➖➖ HAPPY WEDNESDAY 💕 Btw, best band EVER: C2-fit off of Amazon. Using this step to CRUSH my limiting beliefs that tell me I’m not the type of person who can succeed at an all cardio program. I don’t just dislike cardio, I kinda hate it. It pushes me way outside of my comfort zone. Lifting on the other hand, I’m HERE FOR IT. I fell in love with it about 3 years ago and it’s my favorite.. as comfortable as I am with only doing that.. I’m also here to grow as a person and to push myself to do new things. So I put some money into this badass, all cardio program that challenges me, I post to hold myself accountable, I have an amazing support system of women encouraging me, and I GET 👏🏼 IT 👏🏼 DONE 👏🏼 because, the only way to grow is to get outside of your comfort zone.

You workout on VACATION?? . In the past, vacations used to stress me out. Not the actual vacation, but the time leading up to it and the feeling of that dreaded vacation weight gain when I got home. . I was always panicking the weeks before leaving, thinking, ‘I have to look good for the beach’ or ‘I need to lose 10 lbs before we leave’, and ‘I just want to feel comfortable in my body on vacation’. Then I’d ultimately not reach the 10 lb loss before we left, so while on vacation I’d be like screw it, and eat and drink anything I wanted, and definitely wasn’t working out. . But now, I look forward to vacations and never put unrealistic expectations on myself. I’m confident that I can still enjoy myself but not completely sabotage all my hard work. Workouts are just part of my daily routine now, so I don’t worry about how I’m going to get them in. And I know if I’ve got wifi, a little space and 30 minutes, my workout is a non negotiable. And the best part is, when I get home, I’m not beating myself up for completely derailing all my progress. I just keep going. . Don’t complicate it. You don’t need a gym, fancy running shoes, perfect hair or the best workout clothes. Wake up, workout and get on with your day! with this Netflix of workouts, you can workout literally wherever you are!! #noexcuses
