#waybackwednesday Can I be this strong again 😴. A few weeks out from the British hitting a big pb of 270kg 2sx2r 250kg x4 By far the strongest I've been leading up to a comp. But comp day didn't go to plan 🤷‍♂️. Just shows that you can be as strong as possible during a prep and have to worst platform time. Squat today. Had some good numbers last cycle and was feeling it this week. Didn’t push too hard. Top set 330 # x4. That last one was a real grinder. Knew there wasn’t goina be anymore today. 😭keeping in with the strongman theme the upcoming comp I was looking at has a frame deadlift. Cue the hex bar deadlift. Just light to get a feel 320 # 5x5. Start going heavy next week when regular dead’s are lighter. Really feeling the quads work on these. Finish with some RDLS 265 # few sets and then hamstring curls on the machine. Now go get some! ⭐No matter what your fitness goals are, the Big Four lifts: Deadlift, Bench, Squat, and Overhead Press are extremely important to a long, healthy life. Many of the movements in everyday life require a foundation in these four exercises. Start with the bar and work on proper form. Incorporating these into your fitness routine will help build the body you want! . . 🌡️5-10 min warm up with dynamic stretching and an explosive exercise or two. I'll upload another video which will show you some good examples to warm up with another day soon. . . 📊 The 3 components of exercise intensity for resistance training: ▪️Low (15+ reps light weight) ▪️*Moderate (8-15 reps moderate weight)* Ideal range for hypertrophy (muscle growth) ▪️High (4-8 reps heavy weight) . . 💪 Use low intensity for getting the "muscle memory" of how to properly execute. Use moderate intensity for frequent training. Lastly add in a high intensity if you can once a week to shock your system. Don't push your boundaries too much without someone to spot you and that has experience. Always be safe and ignore how much weight someone else in the gym is putting up. #humpday #trainertips #thelabfitnessformulated - “The first rep is just as important as the last.” @mansfieldlabrats - With this movement, the Barbell Sumo Deadlift, you’ll want to focus on stabilizing the thoracic and lumbar sections of your spine, as you pull the barbell up vertically, and stand tall with and extend your hips forward and shoulders retracted together. ⚠️DO NOT TAKE THE FIRST REP OFF⚠️ Always mind your posture and protect yourself. I always have to remind my clients this. Keep your torso long. Keep your chest high. And keep your hips back, as you sit deep. - You can build that 🍑 and stack your legs with muscle with a variety of exercises and movements. I always do one heavy squat ((front or back)) and one heavy deadlift ((standard, sumo, or RDL)) using a barbell in leg days. I may couple these movements with an ancillary exercise or power movement, like kettle bell swings or skater jumps. But sometimes, I just take an extra minute or two for recovery. - I’m using a @hoistfitness MiSmith Dual Action Smith Machine. It’s pretty neat, and allows your body to move more naturally than a traditional Smith. #trainingtip *** if you need a break from barbell rows, or maybe all you have access to are kettlebells, try a bent row with two bells. Think of a sumo #deadlift to start, pause in the hinge, and start rowing. This exercise is great reinforcement for the #hip hinge (deadlift), #core work, builds lat/pulling #strength, strengthens/corrects posture in #thoracic spine, and is an accessory tool for #barbell deadlifts. My office is very minimalistic, and I like it that way. You won’t find ultrasound, stim machines, lasers, etc in my office. That’s because many of my patients end up spending a good chunk of there treatment time in the gym learning to get stronger, move better, and correct imbalances. . Barbell bent over rows from last week. Still on a strengthening phase so only working between 2-5 reps in exercises with usually 5 sets of each exercise. Remember to train specific to what your goals are: strengthening/ gaining muscle. Taking videos are so good for looking at your own technique, I can see that I need to rotate back my shoulders a fraction more when I am taking barbell off the rack and I can also see that I do a funny dance with my feet 😂🕺🏻

new PR , AHHUUAH 🤪😂 woke up tired as fuaaak , but deadlift day was calling my name 😘 lifted the 45lbs but I felt like they were getting easy so I put 15lbs for a challenge 👌🏼🏋🏻‍♀️ - •90lbs •120lbs - as always I’m trying to find way to stay on my form , I’m doing my homework on finding ways . 17/12/18 _ As we get closer to Xmas, I fancied a workout focusing on a few complex, yet important movements, to make the most of the limited time spent in the gym. _ Warm up 5 rounds 10 cal - Ass Bike 10 x air squats 10 x push ups _ Loved this warm up. Took me approx 6minutes to finish at a moderate pace, but prepared me particularly well for the leg work to come as the Ass bike is naturally quad heavy, and the air squats further hit the rest of the legs. _ Workout 5 sets of each (20 reps, 12reps, 10, 8, 6, - increasing weight each set) Single leg rear deadlift (alternating legs) Barbell lunges Flat bench press Overhead DB triceps extension _ Whilst a session with some of my favourite movements, the best part of this workout was by far the first two exercises. They left me sufficiently pumped and fatigued and hit my whole legs, as well as my lower back and core. _ Due to limited time, I then rushed into the flat bench and this is where the workout failed for me today. The leg dominant work at the beginning left my upper body cold, and in the limited time available meant the bench didn't feel great, and my rotator cuffs and general shoulders felt tight and uncomfortable. _ In hindsight, I should of kept the emphasis today on lower body and focused pn upper body later in the week, that way you're keeping the blood and 'pump' isolated into a more specific area. _ 2/5 (could be better if I had more time in the gym to adequately warm my upper body back up after the first two lower body workouts). _ _ #fitnessmd #fitness #functional #bodybuilding #crossfit #gains #wellness #wellbeing #feelgood #gym #wod #workout #box #homegym #garagegym #fatloss #getfit #fitnesstips #advice #inspo #inspiration #fitnessinspiration #motivation #gymmotivation #instafit #deadlift #barbell #dumbbell
