As you go through the process of eliminating binge eating from your life, you're going to make mistakes. I have yet to work with someone who hasn't and when I was doing this work myself, I made mistakes along the way. I never expect my clients to not binge during our time working together. You don't just learn a couple tools and stop binge eating right away, or at least most people don't. You have to practice those using those tools. You're not going to be an expert right away. You're going to forget to use them or not use them the right way, and that's okay. What I want you to know though, is that when you are working on yourself and you make a mistake there's something really important you must do. Forgive yourself. Right away you might want to scold yourself or make it mean you're a bad person or a weak person or something else that's negative. But when it comes to binge eating, negative reinforcement isn't a great method. Like I talked about last week, being mean to yourself if you binge isn't useful. When you consider how you should treat yourself if you end up binge eating, I find it best to think about how you would treat your best friend if they did it. Would you scold them or punish them? Most likely you wouldn't because you know that's not going to help them. So stop doing that to yourself. You're just a person who made a mistake. Release the self-resentment. Let go of the anger. You don't have to forget about what you did or condone it and I don't recommend that you do. But make peace with it. It happened. You made a mistake. Now what? Forgive yourself and take some time to learn from it. “I binged. I'm okay. Now what happened and what can I do better the next time I feel a binge coming on?” Once you start putting yourself in a negative place and think about how you can punish yourself for what you did (talk badly about yourself, restrict your food tomorrow) then you're not going to take any positive actions. There is no need to keep yourself in a bad place where you just keep on self-sabotaging. Pull yourself out by being kind to yourself and forgiving yourself.

I think there have been some misconceptions about me and what I do. . First, no, I do not practice Keto 100% of the time. I believe in nutritional phasing. Anyone that knows me knows I love a good cupcake (with a side of PB) ...I froze a few cupcakes after my sons first birthday party knowing an inevitable craving would surface....and it did! I constantly lived in food scarcity mentality. “Gotta get it all in because when the clock strikes midnight I’m starting over and I’M NEVER eating this again.” Sound familiar? Really try to wrap your head around the idea that food is abundant in this culture. YES we can have budget constraints and yes we can live within our means but food will always be a priority. Emotional eating never helped me lose weight. I loved eating when I was feeling tired and sad. _ I remember being in High School and becoming aware that the other girls were thinner and leaner than me. I didn’t understand what was so different. I wanted to look like them. I also thought ‘low fat’ liquorice was ‘healthy’, and I could eat ‘healthy food’ when I was emotional. _ When there was nuts, and ‘low fat’ junk on my counter, I would eat it. I thought it was healthy, so it didn’t matter, I could lean on it when I needed a pick me up. DEALING WITH VACATION WEIGHT❌ . Vacation for me has always been a huge trigger . It would be X days to lose weight before I am on the beach . But this year before my vacation I didn’t do that . I just ate, didn’t work out, and lived my life . But when I came back it was when I found I was triggered by my old cycles again . Getting “back on track” to clean eating . Wanting to “lose weight” . Feeling guilty about not eating healthy . Feeling guilty about not having time to workout . I’m sure you feel me right? . And before I would allow myself to fall into those habits again but now I’m able to look at it from an outside perspective . I know that I’m triggered because it’s the first time I’ve never allowed myself to be in that cycle . I know it’s my deeply rooted behaviours that are making me feel guilty and like I must compensate . So do you want to know what i did to stay out of this cycle? 👉🏼 I continuously reminded myself of where those emotions come from and what is REAL 👉🏼 I challenged myself to eat anything I felt like I was afraid of or avoiding 👉🏼 I gave myself permission not to work out and focus on things that filled my purpose instead (like my clients and business) . And I’m okay now . My anxiety has passed . I didn’t relapse, I haven’t forced myself to workout or not eat certain foods . And it feels great . Freedom and happiness comes from the mindset we choose to be in . It’s not what comes after losing weight and clean eating . It comes from inside . Do you guys struggle with weight before and after vacation?

It’s something I ask the women I work with all the time. I even check in with myself once in awhile on this one… . . What would your life look like if you let go? . . What if you decided to stop struggling and start living? What if you let go of old ideas about who you are, and stepped into who you want to become? What if you stopped letting fear of the unknown keep you on the sidelines? . . Sure, it can be scary to let go of what you know. But it can also be exciting, liberating, and inspiring. . . What if you chose to see it that way rather than stay stuck in the everyday patterns? . . Somehow, I’m guessing that you’re envisioning everything that you could be, do, and have if you had the courage to try. And if you’re not there yet, I encourage you to shift from a place of uncertainty to a place of possibility! . . Start envisioning your life the way YOU want it to be. What would it look like? Where would you be, who would you be with, and what would you be doing? . . Then ask yourself this...in order to create this new vision, what do you need to let go? . . Grab a pen and paper and start writing down that new vision. Feel it, know it, and start believing in it. . . That is my invitation for you this weekend! Create (or recreate) your grand vision, decide what your new life looks like, and start clearing space for that vision. . . What do you see in your new world? How exciting and inspiring can you make it? I am grateful. . I no longer feel guilty when I eat a cookie. . I don’t feel like I have to burn off everything I eat. . Exercise has become something I do because it makes me feel good and strong (not because I feel like I ate too much). . Food doesn’t stress me out and exercise isn’t something I dread. . I don't have to obsess about any of it. . I can enjoy life without guilt, and still get results. . I struggled with all of those things for so long. But today- I am feeling extra grateful that it isn’t like that for me anymore. . And it doesn’t have to be like that for you either. . Is this something you struggle with too?

There was a time that I was up to my ears in the struggle of binge and emotional eating. And at the time, what I didn’t know was definitely hurting me. . . There are tons of factors that make binge and emotional eating so powerful. But there was one particularly insidious reason that blew my mind when I figured it out… . . As badly as I wanted to break free, there were still a few certain reasons to stay stuck. Little subconscious “rewards” that made it feel safer to keep on binging instead of seek my freedom. . . But when I discovered that letting go of what I knew could lead me to life-changing freedom, I took the leap toward the unknown. And never looked back! . . DAY 22 WITHOUT THE GYM❌ . I haven’t gone to the gym for around 22 days now . I mostly haven’t gone because I’ve been swamped with running my business, working a full time job, vacation, etc etc . And today I had every intention to go . But I got busy with things that are fulfilling my purpose . And for a second I felt guilt . But I refuse to . Because I’m stepping in to my place in the world and that’s fucking cool too . So I know you feel bad too . But don’t . There is more to life than the gym, and when life demands attention in other areas it’s okay to put it on the back burner for a bit . It doesn’t mean you don’t love it . It doesn’t mean you’ll gain weight, lose progress, lose muscle . It just means you’re L I V I N G . This is your permission slip . Tag someone you know needs a break from the gym 💪🏼👇🏼

I BINGED FOR THREE YEARS OF MY BINGE EATING RECOVERY❌ . Okay so you don’t know this yet but... . I pretty much had a binge multiple times, sometimes everyday all through the 3 years of my recovery . In the last month I have been learning how to break my last 5 month stretch where I had an extreme binge every single day . But I was also recovering in those 5 months every single day (and in the last 3 years) . I no longer restricted any food at all but because I was so focused on beating my fear of foods, social situations, calories, restriction . That ultimately meant that I overate pretty much every single day . The freedom (and lack of emotional awareness) in those months ultimately led me to binging every. Single. Day . But literally any type of restriction would trigger me, so I continued to work on the above and just let myself binge . I bet you think that’s weird right? . My binge eating was worse than ever but I was still making progress . Because here I stand... . I have NO fear of food . I feel no guilt for anything i eat, even when i binge . I am confident and comfortable in my body . My outlook on food and my body no longer leaves me paralyzed and angry . I have coping skills, self care skills, communication skills etc etc etcccccccc . I am an entirely new different person . You can still be recovering even if you’re still practicing your disordered habits . Our brains need to take one thing at a time . And for me this step came before beating my binge . But now that I’ve moved into a new phase I can focus on balance . Emotional awareness . Beating the binge . Stop putting yourself down for what you can’t stop . The truth is if you’re putting in the work you will reap the benefits . And everyone is different . Some people can’t stop binging right away and that’s fucking awesome . But it’s also cool if you need to take it one little baby step at a time . If you eat more than you would like to, or if you binge, what kinds of things so you say to yourself? Are you mean? Do you beat yourself up? Talking down to yourself and hating on yourself is not at all useful. All it does is make you feel worse and when you feel badly, you're more likely to keep treating yourself badly. You may think you're being honest with yourself, but you're not at all. Anything you say to yourself from a negative, demeaning place is just crap you're making up about yourself. “I'm disgusting,” “I blew it big time,” “I'm a failure.” Stop it. No you're not and no you didn't. You just ate too much. That's it. If someone you love and have an amazing relationship with binged, would you say those things to them? Unlikely. You'd be kind. You'd be compassionate. You'd try to make them feel better. You wouldn't push them down further into their negative feelings. Do the same for yourself. Speak nicely to yourself. Accept what you did. It happened. Don't make it all worse. “I binged, and I'm okay.” “I binged and I'm still a good person.” Be kind to yourself.

HOW TO ENJOY FOOD ON VACAY WITHOUT WEIGHT GAIN✨ . So vacation sparks a lot of different emotions in us right? 🏄🏼‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🚅🌅 . These past 10 days my vacation sparks pretty much all of these emotions . Frustration Anxiety Fear about my body/ mind Restrictive thoughts Questioning my Worthiness Excitement Abandonment Guilt about food Happiness beyond belief Overwhelming love Freedom Pride Satisfaction Etc . And the one I know you’re worried about... . THE FOOD . Right? . It probably makes you feel all of the above emotions . 👉🏼You want to enjoy yourself but also not gain weight . 👆🏼You want to burn enough calories in order to eat more but not eat so many calories that you gain weight . 👈🏼You’re trying to figure out a way to track your calories . 👇🏼You’re worried about the comments on your eating habits and your body from your friends/ family . 👉🏼You’re worried about the fact you maybe can’t weigh yourself but you just need to make sure you’re not gaining weight . 👆🏼You want to look good in your bikini so you want to make sure you don’t eat too much . So what’s the trick? How do you do it? . Ready...?! . Just ENJOY . Don’t worry about the calories, don’t worry about the portion size . If you *allow* yourself to enjoy you won’t overeat or binge because your mindset will be “I know there will be more later” . Because there will be, every meal allow yourself to enjoy until you’re satisfied, then wait for the next meal for more . It could be a salad and a bun with butter if that’s what you like . I made a decision in the beginning of this year. Back when I had a obnoxiously annoying coworker that I thank so much today because he lead me on a path to finding a better way of looking at life. My days were a routine of nothingness going about my life feeling like I was in control of nothing and the mistakes I made in the past would define me forever. I had such a awesome workout today lasted a lil longer than usual but since my gym was pretty much empty after 30minutes on the elliptical I decided to try out the strength training machines for arms chest and back. It was awesome !!! I’m going to be super sore tomorrow but that’s okay it was so worth it. And than I wanted to try and start running again just slow so I finished with 25 minutes on the treadmill 3 minutes light running than 4 minutes off. I was so happy at end because I ran for 4 minutes non stop and for me that’s awesome. How to find a diet you actually ENJOY again ✨ . When I was just coming out of my lowest point of my ED I had honestly lost all love and passion for food . I didn’t crave anything anymore . I didn’t enjoy treats anymore . Healthy foods felt like a chore . Eating felt like a chore . I spend so much time binging every. Single. Day. That it was like I went numb to all food . I only ate the things I loved to binge . I only ate healthy to “fix” what I did and to lose weight . And i know you’re dealing with exactly the same thing right now . But THEN I began eating mindfully . I stopped forcing myself to eat at certain times of the day . Stopped forcing myself to eat foods I thought I should be eating . And I just ate for myself . For my body . If it meant one meal a day then cool . If it meant 6 then great . I ate what my body asked for and whenever I wanted it . Even if it was 2 in the morning . I put mindfulness first because what happens in the mind happens in the body . So even if I ate pancakes for breakfast, a burger and fries for lunch, and lasagne for dinner I let myself be OKAY with it . I gave myself permission . Eat until your mind and body have permission . Just remember that there aren’t any “rules” to the way you eat . Some people enjoy clean living and some enjoy eating whatever the F they want . Both are cool, both are dope . It’s about what gives you joy and life . So give yourself permission to just enjoy . No matter what that lifestyle looks like for you . DM me if you want the steps to know how

BELLY FAT🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ I HATED my belly. Couldn’t stand it. For years I would hide it, pinch it, squeeze it and wish it would disappear with magical fat removal soap that I wished would soon be in the market. Having a baby 13 months ago and all the personal development work I’ve done prior has allowed me to shift my perception of my body——> thus leading my BODY to shape shift. We are taught by our society that we have to change our body in order to LOVE our body but the KEY to shape shifting your body starts with accepting what is. Being in your body RIGHT now and making peace ✌🏻 with your reflection. When we HOLD SPACE to shift how we view our body, we are then able to make different choices toward healing, toward connecting inward. Preikestolen The views were stunning, being at the top and looking out over the fjord and seeing just how high up we were was amazing! I'm not often proud of myself but I was bloody proud of myself for getting to the end of this hike and back again as it was hard! You can see in the first picture that the incline consisted of steep rocks, the majority of the trail was made of of these rocks. They were steep, really steep and I am heavy so it was hard work carrying around an extra 8 stone up and down those rocks!. I had been going for walks for a while before we went away and had been losing weight, nearly a stone, I know it wasn't loads but it was a start. Just before we got to the top there was a really steep section of stone, it was also raining and I was sooooo sweaty. I just stopped and cried on my husband. I was exhausted, my muscles hurt, I had a headache, super sweaty, my glasses were covered in rain drops and were steamed up so I couldn't see and I didn't want to go any more. I just said to myself husband "I've walked all this way and it's so cloudy we're not even going to see anything, it will have been a waste of time" I had lost it! My husband knew I needed some sugar though so gave me a stroop waffle and a cuddle and we made the rest of the way to the top! What are your intentions for August? 🌞 I took some time off to refresh this week. To spend some time in nature, reading, thinking...and spa-ing it up . 🌞 Here's what I figured out. I'm tired of working all the time. Between our kids, my corp job and running Flourish, I'm literally working all hours, and if I'm not working-I'm thinking about work. Can you relate, Sisters? 🌞 So. This month I'm setting work hours. YES! Work hours. My own coach asked me what my work hours were...and I was stumped. I couldn't answer her. Now I can. 🌞 I will be ending work at a specific time each day so that I can be more present with my saint-like husband, our kids and my wiener dog. And guess what? Inviting my mom to be part of my fit life. Have you ever told yourself that it will be okay if you buy all this food, eat it all, and totally binge? Or that it won't matter if you binge? Or, “I deserve it?” They all make you feel justified to binge and as soon as you feel that justification, it's binge time. You're sitting there thinking about doing it, you're going back and forth in your head, and one of these thoughts is your deciding factor. But the truth about all of these, is that they're all lies. They're lies you use to convince yourself that binge eating is a good idea. Look at each one of them. Anything that convinces you that binge eating is “okay” is obviously a lie because you know it's neverreally“okay.” Binge eating matters to you. If you binge, it will matter. You never deserve to eat way too much and feel awful afterward. There is a part of you that wants to binge and it's because you're feeling an urge to do it or desire for food or you want to relieve yourself from an emotion you're feeling. Instead of feeling these feelings, you follow a lie that pops into your head. “It'll be okay if I binge instead of feeling this feeling? Alright then, let's go.” What I want you to understand here is that you don't have to believe everything your brain tells you. I remember very clearly one day my brain saying, “You should just give up.” When I caught that, I took a pause and was like, “Whoa, what?? Why the heck should I? I'm not going to give up!” I want you to start noticing lies you keep telling to yourself that justify binge eating for you. Then find the truth behind them. Honesty is a huge part of building that amazing relationship with yourself that you want. If you're honest with yourself, then you'll end up feeling and behaving the way you truly want to. Tell yourself the truth that binge eating is never a good idea. Thinking this way will bring assurance and confidence and those are two feelings that will not lead to binge eating. I saw this on a shirt 😂and it could not describe my mindset any better; when I was in 10th grade so many changes happened I was living in new state away from my friends, my father and I didn’t have to many friends because I was the new girl in school. Idk how I started but one day in the evening I went out for a run and that started a 10month journey. Those runs helped me deal with the loneliness I felt ; my parents splitting up ; my sisters not understanding me and my irrational fear of a boy never noticing me. And I lost a bunch of weight! My face got smaller, I could fit into my sisters cloths 😁and a boy at school I liked started to notice me. The last few years of my teens were awesome. And than somewhere in becoming an adult I slipped into very unhealthy eating habits and I actively neglected to notice how much I had gained. I tried running the other day and man was it tough, on my knees and ankles every unused muscle were hurting and the jiggling 😱I never truly felt the weight of my body as when I started to run. And I couldn’t help but remember how more than 10+ years ago running saved me. IM NOT SKINNY ENOUGH❌ . People ask me all the time... . What made you choose to start your business? . When did you decide? . The truth is I had been thinking about it for a couple years . I felt an internal calling and pull to coaching and this form of connection for a long time before I felt I was *ready* to start . Now in reality that is simply because I needed to grow and experience and become wiser and I needed the time to develop and find self realization . But my mind told me it was because I wasn’t as pretty or skinny or perfect . Yea I know, you get me right? . You don’t feel like you deserve to be that happy . You don’t feel as if you ever could . But that is not true . You have control and there is nothing more powerful than hard work and dedication . And I know you know that . I know you’re like “I know I could do it I’d XYZ” but honeeeeeeeyyyyyy . You are the most powerful form of energy you have . It happens to the best of us. You’re going through your day, feeling on top of the world, and then you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and your heart sinks at what you see. . . Or maybe you step into a department store dressing room to try on something new. And between the fluorescent lights (WHAT IS UP WITH THAT LIGHTING), . . and the three-sided mirror, your own reflection tanks your confidence. . . And I bet you know the feeling when you step on the scale in the morning and the number you see wrecks your day before it starts… . . But what is really going on here? . . It’s not just about negative thinking. You’re actually uncovering an old belief that your self-worth depends on the scale or the mirror. . . And the good news is that it’s a belief can be healed! . . But happy thoughts alone won’t do it. You need to meet that part of you that feels unworthy, and show it a little bit of love. . . Tell your inner critic that you see her, and that she has nothing to fear. . . Tell her that she is worthy of love, attention, and connection. No matter what a scale or mirror says. . . It might take time. It might take a little bit of practice. But that part of you that fears rejection CAN be healed. . . HOW INTUITIVE EATERS GROCERY SHOP❌ . Grocery shopping used to scare the crap out of me and stress me out 🤮😪🤯 . So focused on low fat foods, reduced calorie foods, what will fit my calories, avoiding the foods i actually want, how to read nutrition labels omg the list goes on . Well it’s actually those thoughts going through the grocery isles that keep you from picking foods that your body wants . If you pick the foods your body asks for, you won’t gain weight and you will not binge (I promise, it’s okay, let yourself eat girl) . When you’re breaking free from tracking your food its incredibly intimidating trying buy any kind of food because you’re still so focused on a number . We become so entangled in the calories we forget about what makes our body feel good, what it actually likes to eat . These are my tips for learning how to grocery shop when quitting the calories🥦 . 👉🏼Talk to your body: Do you feel like eating this? Will this satisfy you? How will this food make you feel today? . When you ask yourself these questions, take a moment to see how your body feels internally . Visualize yourself eating this and tap into the feeling your body would get after . Your body will always give you the answer you need . 👉🏼80/20 rule: Try and eat nutritionally dense foods 80% of the time . But the doesn’t mean I don’t let my snacks be a little more fun . Allow yourself to eat the foods you LOVE in 20% of your diet, so don’t feel like you have to avoid the chip isle (you can still do this without tracking your calories . 👉🏼Shop the fresh section. I can do 90% of my grocery shopping just within the produce/ meat sections of the grocery store . Fresh foods will never steer you in the wrong direction if you’re still unsure how to eat without tracking calories . These foods are whole, nutrient dense foods that are versatile and healthy . For my snacks I go to the isles because i like a little more fun (if ya know what I mean 😉) 🤗 . What is your guys’ biggest struggle when it comes to choose the foods to eat?
