It's hard to take a rest day but I force myself to have one full day of rest with stretching and mobilty each week at the moment. Non-scale victory: I couldn't even zip these pants a few months ago. Now they're literally falling off of me. How I did it: I was so stuck in a rut and couldn't figure out how to work out while commuting 2 hours a day. Finally I had support to help figure out my schedule and give me accountability to show up every day. I started working out in the morning to make sure I just got it over with for the day and didn't have to have it on my million mile long to do list after work. There's also nothing more motivating to get up in the morning than getting notifications that people are doing their workouts. It certainly hasn't happened overnight but persistence has gotten me into a good routine. Sticking with it sure is a lot easier than starting it 😉

Your babies are NO excuse...workout with them...let them join in on the fun...or take them with you!! My little one loved our run so much she fell asleep for the entire 45 minutes!!😉 Don't point the blame at someone else for what's going wrong in your life, for not being at your goal weight or for not feeling confident in your own skin...YOU are the ONLY reason to blame but the good news is .... YOU can change anything. I have been on my journey now for 2.5 years, coaching go getter from all over the world, and have heard just about every excuse why they just can't do it ...and you know what..every single one of these ladies eventually finds a way to succeed with a little bit of positive guidance and the right tools. Life is tough...some things we can control and some things we can't...but you can control the way you react to it so be strong and don't let life bring you down! Be BEAVE enough to TRY something NEW. NEVER TRYING and ending up never knowing and always thinking "what if" is the worst. I was brave enough to say "YES it's my turn to be better" 2.5 years ago and look at how far I have come. I am a better momma from the inside out, I am happier, I am stronger and I am PROUD! I work my dang ass off and I never ever give up on my dreams. I am a firm believer, a goal digger and someone who dreams big everyday. #trainingthursday Don’t just get into the machine and go through the motion. If you are going to spend time in the gym, maximize it! # # # # # # It’s not about the poundage that you can push or move, it’s about the amount of poundage you can move under control through all range of motions. # # # # # Today, we worked on chest using two machines. When you can maximize the profiles, you really don’t need a whole lot of machine or movement to achieve the desire goal(s). # # # # # Incline chest press with bands to overload the muscles and push the strength curve a bit. # # # # # Here is an example of me modifying the band to do a drop set. It’s really easy once you understand how the muscle fibers work and than you just manipulate the machine to help you target the working muscles. # # # # # Make it hard on your muscles. Don’t just get on a machine and make it easy. Easy is when you train yourself and just push and pull weights with no bearing and thought of what you are doing. # # # # # One way to ensure growth will always be to find a workout partner that can push you pass YOUR sticking point. # # # # # # I promise you, you will never work as hard as you think you do when you train yourself! If you think you push yourself hard by training solo, you are sadly mistaken! # # # # # I push my team to brink of tears and make them question everything they have about doing the exercise! They will not be bias to any machine because it will all just SUCK to the highest level. However, I also make them think about their working muscles and give them cues to execute the movement. They don’t leave with sore joints. They leave knowing that they actually work their muscles. My job is to prove it to them that they have what it takes to go pass the point of failure. They will know what it’s like to live in that uncomfortable state. #tbt Circa 2002 in and around 300lbs...Happy but damn unhealthy. My journey to simply wanting to be healthier is what brought me to where I am today. ------------------------------------------------------------------ I remember the days of being embarassed and running late at night, out fear of being seen by anyone; to using health magazine article workouts as my "personal trainer." ------------------------------------------------------------------ Wasn't until deciding to join a gym and receiving the proper guidance, had I realized how much I can truly accomplish. Wow. #TBT 10 years ago, crowned homecoming king. Worst thing that could happen for my ego back then. Thought I was the stuff with my dark sunglasses on inside. This is back when I couldn't grow facial hair to save my life and wore basketball shorts under every pair of pants. Speaking of which, yall can't see it in this pic, but my cheap dress pants from K&G got ripped from my waist to my ankle while getting twerked on. CPS girls did the most on the dance floor. 🤦🏾‍♂️ If you've read this far, I mine as well hit you with some inspiration... any time I'm frustrated about not being where I should be, I look back at photos like this and find encouragement knowing I'm DEFINITELY not where I use to be.
