Raise your hand if you miss your mania🤚Don't get me wrong, I don't miss the irritability and anger. What I mean is just feeling something more than just the "normal" state of being neither up or down; just in between. It's almost like life has become dull. I know I should be happy that my medication is working, but I want to just to feel something. I want to feel excited or elated. Does anyone feel like this?

“Normal” should just be a setting on the washing machine! 🧺 . There is no “normal” level or state of mental health. Everyone’s mental health goes through ups and downs, twists and turns, and everything in-between 🧠 . As human beings, none of us are necessarily “normal.” We’re all unique in our own way, and we should try to embrace that uniqueness! 👣 . The bottom line is that we shouldn’t have to fear the idea that we aren’t “normal” because we have a mental health condition or struggle with our mental health. We also shouldn’t have to worry that our struggles with our minds aren’t “normal,” because mental illnesses (and life in general) affect every one of us in a different way— and that’s okay! We’re all in this together 🖤 . The negativity associated with not being what society calls “normal” plagues so much of our world. It’s time to embrace our individuality and support one another on our unique journeys! 🤝 As a final note: be yourself, work at your own pace, work on loving yourself, and learn to love & support others too 🙂 . Let’s have Hope, be Resilient, and Recover together! 🤝 💪 🧠


🏔 • a n x i e t y • 🏔 (@lindsaybraman) ⠀ i will be the first one to say that anxiety can be severely debilitating. ⠀ i often get low levels of anxiety when performing tasks like leaving my house (worry i forgot to do something), making phone calls, public transportation, etc. ⠀ but there are certain things that i have to push myself to do because i know that if i let the anxiety win, then next time that same stimulus will just make the anxiety worse. ⠀ for example, this summer i was taking public transportation into the city two weekends in a row. the first i was an absolute wreck. i was convinced i left the stove on and that my house would burn down and my pets would die. spoiler alert: everything was fine. but anxiety nearly robbed me of the day and pushing through was hard. ⠀ but! the next weekend? i was much less anxious. i wasn't robbed of the day due to linger anxiety and i wasn't paralyzed into not going. i kept reminding myself: you've done this before and everything was fine. ⠀ the line of "pushing through" is different for everyone - but it is important for me to try to "talk back" to my anxiety to keep it from robbing me of living. ⠀ #bipolarrecovery #bipolarawareness #bipolarlife #bipolarproblems #bipolardisorderawareness #bipolardepression #bipolar #mentalhealthawareness #mentalillness #keeptalkingmh #bipolar2 #anxiety #depression #endthestigma #mentalhealth #selfcare #selfhelp #recovery #wellness #sober #soberlife #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthrecovery #mentalhealthadvocate #selfhealers #emotionalhealth #innerwork #holistichealth #holistichealing
