Some dude once told me that me (like *specifically* me) pregnant was “everyone’s birth control.” Well NEWS FLASH being pregnant is birth control 🤣. But also, what a d-bag. 🤔 • I am overwhelmingly happy this pregnancy because of my acceptance of myself, my gratefulness for another chance to carry a child, my body’s fitness, and to get to experience this stage of life with a mindset that is in-line with my values. I have been sick nearly non-stop this pregnancy (just one thing after another), my husband was deployed for the entire 2nd trimester, the FREAKEN GOVERNMENT IS STILL SHUT DOWN AND A DOG PUKED *IN* MY BED this morning... but never have I felt more in-tune with myself as a WOMAN & a MOTHER & a WIFE and those things make me feel beautiful AF. • Pregnancy doesn’t always FEEL beautiful (when everything hurts and you’re barfing in the toilet or complaining about your crotch like me😃)... but hot damn, I can tell you from experience it’s your mindset and how you choose to see yourself & your situation. Please speak to yourself with kindness. • PS In these pictures I have a fever, have just taken a shower for the first time in two days, am sneezing every 5 minutes and blowing my nose like crazy, I’m still working on cleaning up that vomit (I had a bunch of laundry in line first 🤣) and spent 3 hours on the couch with an antibiotic induced stomach ache, nausea, and headache. Lest you think I don’t know wtf I’m talking about 🤣🤣🤣. This is my beautiful sister Tori at 27 weeks pregnant with baby number 3, and my niece Ryan, affectionately known as Ryan the lion. Although my sister and I live in different states we are able to stay connected via video chats and can modify programming based on what the day brings. When life gives you mushy lentils, make veggie burgers!! So last nights dinner came together on accident. I really thought I had my stuff together. A little midweek meal prepping while baby slept and I power through my RD paperwork. Well, needless to say Bubs woke up, lentils got really mushy, and paperwork is not quite done. So we had to get a little creative no biggie. I had farro cooking to add to protein bowls and salads for the week, and baby potatoes boiling, enough for a few days of brekkie tatos for Tom and Magnus. Vualá dinner, easy peasy, whole food, plant based, inexpensive, everyones happy... ok now to tackle that paperwork. . Lentil Burgers . 1 cup of over cooked mushy lentils Handful of Farro Sauté Shallots and Carrots Seasoned with TJs Everything But the Bagel seasoning Heat Cast Iron skillet with Avocado oil Mush up ingredients and make patties (share with baby for some tactile play)

Today Axel helped me with bear crawls and shoulder press. I even did a little wod after this! As silly as it may sound, having her there with me really does motivate me to work harder. Hiring a doula was one of the best investments Jeff & I could have spent. Not only was she very knowledgable, she listened and advocated when I couldn’t & when Jeff needed to show up in a different way. It allowed him to be present with me. ⁣ ⁣ Most people would ask, isn’t that why Jeff is there to help & talk to the doctors/nurses. The answer is NO. The role Jeff took was being a loving, supportive husband. Not to be my advocate when the midwife didn’t read my birth plan or try to bully me to break my water, or when the nurses kept asking to check me and telling me I needed to get in the bed. ⁣ ⁣ Looking back, I couldn’t have done it without my birth team. It was everything I could have asked for & more. #Repost @wonderbrenna with @get_repost ・・・ SOOOO recording my belly to watch for “CONING” during movements is my new pastime (since yesterday thanks to @sarah.crossfitnorthport; more to come)- this is how it’s gonna be. Large Marge in Charge. •My 1st pregnancy I didn’t exercise at all except for a couple times of half-assed pregnant yoga in my living room. And I hurt myself doing a bad squat LOL. 😬 •2nd pregnancy I worked out nearly the whole time... with the intention of “not getting fat” and “not losing all my muscle” and had to stop around 8 months because I was too big and specifically whatever I had been doing was too much pressure on my pelvic floor and FELT HORRIBLE. (There was a reason for this but I didn’t know then). •3rd time- remains to be seen BUT my mindset is different. I can only do about 50% of any of my lifts but I’m not trying to PR or lift the heaviest weight ever🙄. I’m not trying to stay skinny (lol). I’m 100% honoring my body where it is and staying active to have a successful birth. I want to stay flexible, mobile, and strong till the end! Like the end of my life, too! • I read somewhere- when you’re pregnant no one will remember the modifications you used, they will remember that you were THERE. • this pregnancy has kicked my butt 100 different ways which to me means this baby is extra special- she’s a firecracker and I can’t wait to meet her. 💥💥💥 #7monthspregnant #birthfitcoach #fitpregnancy #postpartum #pregnancy #fitmom #godihatehashtags #dowehavetousethem

33 weeks pregnant with my baby #3 at 33 years old... My goal in this third trimester is to continue to keep workouts intentional, moving with purpose. In the third trimester pregnant mamas are preparing for the slower pace that comes with having a newborn baby in the home. That includes getting less sleep at night and more naps during the day. TR A I N I N G F O R B I R T H. This is not a flippant expression. It’s rooted in practical truth. The most challenging part of my 36-week training session today was box breathing in this pelvic floor relaxation posture learned at @dnsrehabilitation Yoga and Visceral Mobilization course. Every 30 seconds or so, I would find my glutes insidiously firing again, ”protecting” me from the feedback of the foam roller (if foam roller is too much start with purple @yogatuneup coregeous ball). This is something I struggle with during labor—to breathe EXPANSION in my pelvic floor during contractions vs tightening to resist them. So I train. I train to release and to surrender which is ironically so much harder than training for strength and endurance. This is also the @birthfit difference. We explore and train the full spectrum of physical, mental, and emotional competency. As soon as I saw this the other day I made sure to roll to the side to sit up in bed instead of sitting straight up like a vampire. 🧛🏼‍♀️ SO- this is coning, if you see it stop what you’re doing and don’t do it anymore, pay attention to your bod when you exercise (or even just do things around the house or work), and practice diaphragmatic breathing to hit lots of muscles that aren’t your “6pack.” This is also why ab specific workouts aren’t recommended right after you have your baby- I’d say as long as you had your baby in, or a year! I personally believe that it took me about two years each time to recover from having a baby. Over the course of the first post partum year, a mother’s body will be healing and everyone’s healing timeline is different. Finding a coach that not only understands that and respects it is key! • I’m still learning how to coach and program, the knowledge and room for improvement is infinite. They will show you how to move and breathe like no other! 💚 Repost from @birthfit_conway_ar using @RepostRegramApp - This bear crawl, though 👌🏻 In BIRTHFIT, based on principles of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) we train movement as it is found within normal development. Bear pose is found in Functional Progression 4, and is a fundamental transition between the crawl and the squat or tripod, which eventually allows us to become bipedal! - 👶 FP 4: Bear into Squat. We begin on all fours with a neutral spine. Hips are in slight external rotation with knees outside the toes. We tuck our toes under and send our sit bones to the sky, while maintaining the neutral spine we created.
