why am I posting this? I’m trying to figure it out because standing versus sitting in regards to how your body looks is something I’ve wanted to bitch about and open up the conversation on for a while. but like, why? I guess because I know we all know the struggle of looking in the mirror, feeling pretty damn good about ourselves and what we’re seeing stare back at us and then, later that day at work or out at dinner, you feel your breasts resting ever-so-lightly on that one bit of stomach right under your boobs and you’re like “oh. yeah. forgot about all THAT.” ——————————————————— my stomach has always and will probably continue to be my “problem” area. any food I eat or whiskey I drink just LOVES to hang out there and stay put. I can workout 4x a week and eat reasonably clean without hating my life throughout the week (i.e. what I’m doing rn currently), and my mid-section is still like “NAH BITCH I’M STILL HERE DOE.” I see girls post bikini selfies SITTING DOWN with concave stomachs and am like “but like how though.” and I constantly drive myself crazy over it, and it’s like WHY. that’s not how my body functions, so why beat myself up? like that’s super tight for them that they have flat stomachs and were perhaps blessed with them naturally, but I don’t and wasn’t so why beat myself up over it? if being on strict eating plans and “never cheating” or considering sushi or like protein-powder “ice cream” a “treat” is how I MAY possibly ever achieve a flatter mid-section, COUNT ME THE FUCK OUT. so, really, this post is me challenging myself to really believe it when I say that, and to embrace how I look standing, sitting, laying, or in the fetal position. Den mest påfrestande terminen hittills är över. Det har varit tufft, intensivt och ibland helt förjävligt. Samtidigt som kursen pågått med alla dess tillhörande uppgifter har jag även genomgått en utredning för eventuell ätstörning. Nu känner jag mig uttömd och slutkörd. Kort och gott kan jag säga att 2019 inte började på topp vad gäller mitt mående, men förhoppningsvis börjar det ljusna snart 🌄

3 HUGE MISTAKES TO AVOID MAKING THIS WEEKEND: . . 1️⃣ Binging on all of your favorite foods because you’ve been so strict with your diet all week that you just don’t have any willpower left: If you view the work week & weekend as totally separate from each other, you’re missing out on the bigger picture. . . How to avoid it: Don’t think that eating super strict 5 days of the week and then not paying attention to your body at all Friday night - Sunday will help you reach your goals & develop a healthy relationship with food. Give yourself some flexibility during the week & you’ll be WAY less likely to binge on all the things when the weekend comes. . . 2️⃣ Not allowing yourself to go out & have fun when you want to in fear of spiraling out of control around food & alcohol. If you hold up in isolation because you don’t want to be tempted by your “off-limits” Foods, you’re missing out on a whole lot of life. . . How to avoid it: The more you fear food, the more control it has over you. You can 100% eat out for a meal or two on the weekends & enjoy foods that aren’t typically what you eat without losing all of your fitness or progress. Making yourself miserable isn’t worth it - you can go out once or twice a weekend regularly without completely going off the wagon all weekend. . . 3️⃣ Doing multiple hours of workouts to “make up for” over eating throughout the weekend. . . How to avoid it: Let go of the belief that you have to earn your food in the gym. Whether or not you work out, you need to eat. Additionally, learn how to listen to your body & understand when its hungry or full. Too often we create our story before it’s happened - if you tell yourself you’re going to overeat, you probably will. If you go into a meal with an open mind & without judgement, checking in with your bod, you’re way less likely to over eat & wont feel the need to compensate with more exercise. Plus, working out for hours a Day is tiring AF & will totally drain you long-term. . . The solution to ALL of these pitfalls?! TRUST YOUR BODY. Trust that it wants the best for you & that it will tell you what it needs to thrive❤️.

Diets are no longer cool. No one wants to say they’re on a diet. But rather than actually getting off the diet.. we just give them a nicer sounding name and continue with the same habits 🤦🏼‍♀️ We’re afraid to use the word “diet” because we know “diet” habits are harmful. So instead, we change the word in attempt to convince ourselves we’re not doing harm, when the behaviors are completely the same, “lifestyle change” or “diet”. If you are marketing a “lifestyle change” program, or adopting one for yourself, why are you afraid to call it a diet? Is it actually any different than a diet? If you’re cutting calories, macros, whatever, the answer is no. Call it for what it is. If you’re afraid to use the word “diet”, that is a sure sign you know what you’re doing is harmful. In 2019, i promise i am going to learn to love my self a bit more. My body has been one of my biggest insecurity because i dont have the society’s beauty standard’s body. I hate my big boobs, my Adam’s apple is just close to non-existence, my high pitch voice, literally now that im thinking about it i don’t really like nothing on my body. But this year i am going to at least trying to feel okay with it, to feel blassed that in fact i have a full functioning body. It takes a lot to post this for me. I love Pilates! Like actually love it! I’ve really struggled with motivation for training lately. In all honesty it’s been because of stress. Not like “I’m pure stressed out” kind of stress, I don’t feel stressed but my body does. Teaching lots of classes, not sleeping enough, not enough self care and basically burning the candle at both ends, has left my body STRESSED! ... ... ... So I’ve taken time this week to put steps in place to stop that. I’ve set a limit on my phone so it turns off at 9pm, I’ve been asleep before 10pm and made sure I’ve made time for Pilates.. ... ... Pilates not only makes my body stronger, my posture better and joints more stable but it slows me down and balances me out mentally. That’s why I love it so much! ❤️ .. .. .. Post workout brunchy casserole with hash browns, eggs, breakfast sausage, spinach, and hot sauce.. Whole30/paleo/low FODMAP approved 👍 My sister got me some little 10 pounder weights so I can start incorporating some light weight training at home. I’ll never join a gym because a) I’m not dragging three small kids with me to a gym, b) money, and c) I hate leaving my house 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m starting out now with about 20 min cardio and 15-20 min HIIT exercises (nothing fancy, just following random YouTube videos) It may not be perfect but I’ve gotta start somewhere and I’m trying to make exercise a daily priority. Also, I’m viewing it as a way to relieve stress and work out my anger in a healthy way.
