Our first virtual Sourdough 101 class was a success🙌 Thanks to those who tuned in, entertained my obsession for Flubby, and spent the day baking with me. Matcha rose petit-fours with stawberry jam. I didn't want to waste my kinda nasty matcha dalgona so I re-used it to make a mini cake for petit-fours with jam and a rose matcha icing. ⁣ ⁣ This is the best thing I've made in awhile which is cool but I didn't measure anything or use a recipe so that's a bummer. I added melted butter & white chocolate, avocado oil, vanilla, salt, and ap flour to the dalgona which was a whipped egg white, matcha, simple syrup meringue. It didn't rise much & was tender & moist with a good crumb, so perfect for petit-fours or would have been good for rainbow cookies. Together they made this delicious #vegan and #dairyfree pesto that only requires FOUR ingredients: basil, lots of garlic, pine nuts, and olive oil! ⁣ ⁣ Recipe notes from @alevy286: The key to this pesto is to make sure the pine nuts are toasted and to add LOTS of garlic. Once you’re done, just store it in a jar with more olive oil on top, and freeze it so you have an endless supply of pesto ready at a moments notice. 😌

Tonight’s post @cherrybombe #cbjubilee 2.0 quarantine dinner! The sourdough discard pancake with jarred artichokes and roasted red peppers plus some feta. I’m lucky to have a little basil 🌿 to freshen it all up, but not necessary. Use what you have. In my case- I have jarred veggies from Costco c. 2018. Today was an absolute joy and much needed- thank you everyone who tuned in. Thank you @madstrap and @sarah_c_owens for kicking off the sourdough talk! I have a lot of fun with my sourdough discard (bagels! pretzels! crackers! oh my!) but I don’t have much loaf experience. sourdough discard pancake! For all of you, like me, who have turned into a sourdough baker overnight :) I saw @pastryschiff post about it the other day and the thought of chubby, doughy crispy savory pancakes sounded delicious. Also, flour is so precious these days! Any way to use up “discard” is ace in my book. Head over to Caroline's profile for her take (and just beautiful photos of pastry in general), but the gist is... . Get a small nonstick skillet hot (i used my little 8 in) with lots of high-temp oil and pour in about a ¾ to 1 cup’s worth of discard and a sprinkle of salt. I use the back of my spoon to evenly spread it out. Cook over med-high heat. During this time you can add any topping you’d like - I followed her lead and added chopped kimchi to one batch and to this one, sautéed onion and cabbage w/ a bit of soy sauce, sesame oil, and scallions. Once edges begin to brown and dough begins to bubble (like a pancake!), flip and fry for another few minutes. That’s it! I didn’t add enough oil and went a little heavy on the toppings w/ this one, so dough wasn’t as airy and golden brown as i’d like. Still delicious though. Learn from my mistake!We topped ours with poached eggs, avocado, and chili oil and devoured them in minutes. Sounds good, right? . Are you all playing with sourdough? If so, what are you making? These were the best cinnamon rolls I ever had. Ooey and gooey. Lots of cinnamon, double layer of frosting and caramelized on the bottom. Such a soft dough. I enjoy the process of baking usually more then the result. This provided both. #bakingastherapy

I curated a dinner party scene and then ate and drank everything on the table myself as you do in isolation style. These are my delicious spicy mussels in a tomato and white wine base that are a great Easter menu option. When Diana Henry talks about mussles, she says they aren’t just about flavour or smell but they’re also about sound. She goes on to explain that it’s the sound they make when you are cleaning them and they clatter against the steel sink. In many ways, I love this sound she speaks of however, what I adore even more is the sound they make when they begin to pop open in your pot and cause it to rattle from side to side. Hi everyone! It’s been awhile. Due to the pandemic I’ve made the decision to no longer take custom orders until this passes. However, I thought it’d be fun to guide you through some quarantine baking! Pie is my favorite dessert to make and eat so I’m happy to share the process! ✨💕 RECIPE 2 1/2 cups of all purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon of salt 8 oz. of cold salted butter 1/4 cup of water 1 tablespoon of vinegar PROCEDURE 1. Add your flour and salt to the food processor. Pulse to mix the dry ingredients. 2. Cube your butter into small pieces and gradually add to the food processor while it is running. 3. Add water. 4. Add vinegar. 5. Let the food processor run for a few seconds until the dough ALMOST comes together. If the dough has formed a ball then you’ve overworked it! 6. Pat your dough onto plastic wrap. Let it chill in the freezer for at least 30 minutes or freeze up until 6 months.

Bone broth in the making! 🙌🏻✨ There is nothing like homemade bone broth. Bone broth is one the most nutrient-dense foods you can consume. It’s super rich in immune boosting nutrients, easy to make and very inexpensive. Bone broth is one of my ultimate favorite superfoods known to be nourishing the gut, joints, skin and the immune system. How do you make it? You simply put the listed ingredients into a pot and let it cook for up to 48 hours. ✨✨ * 2–4 pounds of animal bones * 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar * 2 large carrots * 2 large onions, peeled, sliced in half lengthwise and quartered * 2 celery stalks * 3-4 fennel stalks * 3-4 garlic cloves, peeled and smashed * 1 bay leaf * 1 teaspoon whole peppercorn * Couple of generous pinches of sea salt to taste * 1 inch ginger root with skin, washed and brushed cut into a few slices * Filtered water to fill your pot ✨✨ Place all the ingredients in a large 10-quart stockpot. Add in filtered water. Simmer for 24-48 hours. Remove from the heat and let it cool for a bit. Pour the broth through a fine strainer and discard the solids. Taste the broth and add more salt if needed. You can use the broth within 5 days or freeze in properly sealed containers in the freezer for up to three months. I wanted cassoulet from my favorite French place and this is what happened - Baked White Beans with Italian Sausage with Collard Greens. I can’t, in good conscience, call this Cassoulet because it’s missing two vital ingredients, duck confit, and Toulouse sausage. And it plays host to two interlopers, collard greens and Italian sausage. Is it as good as the cassoulet I can’t have? No, but it did taste delicious, warm my soul, and make my house smell amazing. So yeah, it’s not cassoulet but it is a pretty great dinner. Link in my bio!

It was a moment it was a mood, so here’s the recipe.
