Here are some workouts you should incorporate into your leg day ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ pretty conventional but very effective. I was really upset because I couldnโ€™t go high weight with my deadlifts - or really any lift because this leg day because my back was absolutely KILLINGG me, so i decided to go lighter weight with a higher amount of reps. @slingshot is a brand Iโ€™ve been using for years now and I still vouch for them. That being said, @betterworkouts hip circles are similar in quality and cheaper in price for those who are just starting out in powerlifting and want a cheaper option. . . . Typically we use hip circles for warm-ups in powerlifting. I personally also use some of these for warm-ups during my marathon prep because I have a weak ๐Ÿ‘ and need to activate it prior to running. . . . Some of these exercises include: โœ… banded side steps โœ… banded squats โœ… monster walks โœ… side-lying hip abductions โœ… banded glute bridges . . . Just a fun post tonight. ๐Ÿ™ƒHere are a couple things you probably didnโ€™t know about me. 1- I never had any braces. 2- My go to fro yo/ ice cream toppings are cheesecake bites and crumbled pb cups. 3- When I find a song ๐ŸŽต I like, Iโ€™ll listen to it on repeat a million times until I find a new favorite song and the cycle repeats itself. 4- My favorite TV show is Friends... and Tom & Jerry. ๐Ÿ˜…I could watch them for hours and never get bored. 5- I never thought Iโ€™d get a visa to come to the United States... so I planned on going to college in France... and then I ended up in Utah, USA. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ 6- When I moved to the States I got insanely homesick.... and depressed. But exercise (running & weight training) saved my life. Really. To this day my workouts are my โ€œme timeโ€. They bring me happiness, and theyโ€™re a constant reminder of the gratitude towards my life, and my opportunity to share my gifts and talents with those around me (IG fam is included๐Ÿ˜ฌ). And thatโ€™s one of the main reasons why I encourage everyone to exercise: so you can take care of your emotional and mental health, and go after all your dreams and goals. โ™ฅ๏ธ . how i transformed my ๐Ÿฅž to a ๐Ÿ‘ : โคต๏ธ the surprising secrets of how i was strong af but glute growth was STAGNANT ! ๐Ÿ˜ค Muscle growth won't happen if you're either MECHANICALLY or MENTALLY not connected to your muscle ๐Ÿค“ A slight deviation in execution of the movement can make a ๐ŸŒŽ of a difference ! SO SCREENSHOT & TAKE NOTES ๐Ÿ“ (1) my weak core/anterior pelvic tilt was inhibiting my glute growth !! * when you overly arch your back, it creates tight hamstrings & hip flexors + WEAK GLUTES AND ABS. this muscle imbalance is also called lower crossed syndrome. 80-85 % of people, including yours truly, experience it.if you are not having lower back pain, ant pelvic tilt is nothing to worry about. That said, you're here because you don't want weak glutes, or weak any muscle for that matter! how does ant pelvic tilt inhibit glute growth? lower back, quads & hip flexors take over for a lot of hip/hinge movements like glute bridges & hip thrusts. how to FIX ant pelvic tilt (watch your glute growth skyrocket!): * purposefully TUCK your pelvis and squeeze lower abs * strengthen hamstrings & core (Hamstring & core movements on @bellainbeastmodegym !) * stretch hip flexors & low back to keep them mobile (I L O V E yoga for stretching & mental health !) (2) I was not TRULY feeling the mind to muscle connection for EVERY movement, every rep. CONSISTENCY is key. During warm ups and glute activation I would feel my glutes firing like crazy. Then I would get distracted with the other components of my compound lift & start going through the motions without FOCUSING on feeling my glutes contract and squeeze through EVERY DANG rep ๐Ÿ”ฅ ------------------------------------------ Get the most bang for your butt during peach days: how frequent? I train legs/glutes 3 days/week. Every body is different - our bodies are not textbooks. Experiment with what works best for you & take recovery seriously !! Another leg / cardio day! I was shocked that I received DMs requesting more videos, specifically another glute video so letโ€™s give the people what they asked for! . . . This is a super quick but effective warm up I did today! Use a weight that is light enough for you to handle, but by the end has those glutes and legs on fire! (For reference I used a 50 pound barbell). Focus on the movements rather than the weight!!
