Happy Wednesday! Years ago I started writing gratitude journals and believe me this was no easy task! Sometimes our life choices take us far away from appreciating the little things we have in the moment. Top Three Tips for Being Grateful 1. Learn to live in the moment. Life is a wonderful adventure filled with enriching experiences and endless possibilities. 2. Make an Oath of Gratitude. Being aware of your goal to be more grateful can help you look for things to be really more grateful for. Gratitude is a conscious decision. You have to practice it consistently. 3. Immerse yourself with inspirational thoughts and motivational quotes. Your feeling of gratitude is a direct manifestation of your environment. Day 3 #TonyFDailyChallenge is a plank endurance challenge! Your goal is to accumulate a TOTAL TIME IN PLANK (with a burpee FINISHER) Level 1 - 5mins of plank Level 2 - 10mins of plank Level 3 - 15mins of plank ⚡️Every time you drop, PAUSE your timer and tally 10 burpees. DAY 1 of #TonyFDailyChallenge is a THIS or THAT challenge! Choose one of the exercises and complete all reps in a row as you can without rest. As the days go by, some top concerns I am hearing is the fear of losing muscle mass, endurance, and strength. To address this concern the following five exercises are a good place to start. #personaltrainer #canfitpro #evolutionfitness Top 5 exercises to strengthen muscles quickly! 1. JUMPING JACKS To work your core muscles, arms and legs, as well as increase your heart rate. An excellent reinvigorating exercise that also stimulates motor coordination. Do two to three sets of 15 to 30 jumps, resting about a minute between each set. 2. ARM EXTENSIONS AND SHOULDER DEVELOPMENT To strengthen the muscles in your shoulders and arms. Holding weights or just a full water bottle, bend your elbows, keeping your arms close to the body. Then bring them straight up over your head and back down to the starting position. Do two to three sets of 10 to 20 reps, resting about a minute between each. 3. FORWARD LUNGES To strengthen the muscles in your legs, buttocks and core. On the spot or walking. Take a big step forward with one leg and bend your knee so that it’s at a 90° angle with the floor. Bring your other leg down until it’s almost touching the floor. Push yourself back up to the starting position. Alternate legs with each rep. Be careful: keep your torso upright and back straight when doing this exercise. Also, your front knee should not move past your toes. Do two to three sets of 10 to 15 reps per leg, resting about a minute between each set. Faster movements will increase your heart rate, which in turn will help you burn more calories during and after the exercise. 4. ARM EXTENSIONS AND PUSH-UPS To strengthen the muscles at the back of your arms and your pecs. Use a bench or chair (pushed up against a wall). Facing away from the chair, place your hands on the edge of the seat, close to your buttocks. Walk your feet out until your buttocks are just a few centimetres from the floor. Legs are straight ahead, stretched out or bent. Push yourself up with your hands. Once up, turn to face the chair and do a push-up keeping hands on the chair. 5. PLANK Excellent for strengthening the muscles in your abs and back. #fitnessjourney #fitnessmotivation

Spend some time working on shoulder mobility and stability daily. Most of us are internally rotated so this is an easy way while self isolating to work on some shoulder external rotation. Just practicing the movement with a broom stick can also help strengthen some of the rotator cuff muscles. If doing external rotation work is new to you the broom stick will be a lot more effective for an experienced person. Family Workout post from My wife @anitacfitness I find as I end the work week and start my weekend, my mind and attitude changing with staying at home so much. I love that I can sleep in a little before starting work and travel time to work is a breeze 😉. Unfortunately, my box is closed but it is not stopping me with my workouts. I am taking full advantage of home WODs being offered by @coexistecrossfit. Plus with a hubby @gardeneatharmony as a Canfitpro Certified Personal Trainer, I am using his expertise and my home gym to address my weaknesses and gain more muscle so that I can go back to my box stronger and try to reach those heavier snatches and cleans. Plus now everything has become a family affair which has created great bonding time with my kids which I never had before while running my rat race of mom life.
