Yesterday...didnt squat but lol. I actually dont like using the bars, even with the pad and keeping good posture it hurts my shoulders too much. Personally, I like using other methods, like sumo squats, kettle bell swings, goblet squats. (all that can be done with the kettle bell that are easy to store at home too!) What do you do for squats? Cardio is DONE! I could definitely feel a difference today from being sick & missing a few workouts in the past week, but the most important thing is that I got it done, I didn’t die lol and I feel SO good! Today was going to be some easy quick cardio but I got bored running around the neighborhood so I went to the park! 🙋🏼‍♀️ I did each of these 3 times through and literally couldn’t breathe 😮 switch it up! Make it fun for yourself 💕 this was all done while on a 16 hour fast, so everything that my body was burning came from ME (my extra body fat), not what I just ate. I try to do this 3 times a week. I listen to my body. If i wake up really hungry, I EAT. This isn’t a punishment, it’s CARE for your body.

Anxiety: Your brain on exercise Everyone suffers from stress, whether it's from work, exhaustion, or an anxiety disorder. Physical activity produces endorphins (which act as natural pain killers) and improves sleep which can both reduce stress. According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, regular participation in exercise has been known to "decrease overall levels of tension, elevate and stabilize mood, improve sleep, and improve self-esteem." According to journals, exercise temporarily even reduced symptoms of OCD, and reduced them overall after 12 weeks! Even a brisk 10 minute walk can temporarily elevate a depression mood and decrease anxiety in the majority of people! For some people, a little physical activity daily is enough to manage stress and anxiety. Others may find that it works best in addition to talk therapy and/or medication. For me personally, I use a combination! The dose of my anxiety medication is half of the average user now! I have worked through a lot of the issues that cause me stress in therapy, but I no longer need to call for sessions just to handle my daily life anxiety. I book a session once in a while when something big or new arises, or if I find myself slipping in my habits. A large reason for the change in my mental health has been consistent exercise and working with a supportive group of friends. It was a very grueling 30 minutes but felt like a million bucks after! Ps the music selection was killin it! I just wish my body could keep up with me wanting to keep on jumping rope! Lol. Be prepared to sweat! 💦 Sharing a few moves from my current fitness programs. This week, we run through a series of compound movements and instead of focusing on reps, we focus on time. Each move is completed for 1 minute, then for 45 seconds each, then for 30 seconds each! Let’s just say, I focus on my breath more than upping my weights! 😆 . 🔥Is cardio the ONLY way to burn fat?! 🔥 NOPE 🙃🙃 To answer simply, cardiovascular activity raises your heart rate to 60-80% of your max heart rate which does put your body in a "Fat burn mode". But is there a better way? YEP Multi Joint Exercises! Or H.I.I.T is what I like to do for my clients. The classic bench press, squat, and deadlift are all big muscle moving exercises that requires A LOT of muscles to work and work hard. But what does that mean for fat loss? Simple... They burn more calories AND keep your heart rate up at the same time. Wanna know a super top secret that only personal trainers are aloud to know?! (Just kidding, it's been known for years) "Cals in vrs. Cals out" To keep it short and sweet, as long as you are burning more than you intake calories wise you are going to loose fat. That's just how it is. Now obviously there is more to it, but at the bare basics that's it. PLUS, A little extra knowledge here!!! If you do muscle building workouts, such as compound exercises instead of cardio... Your body will burn MORE calories even when you are NOT working out! Crazy right? After a 4am start this morning I am running off coffeeeeeee ☕️ . . As far as pre-workout goes coffee is my go to! Whether the effects are real or placebo I find my workouts so much better with a cup of coffee in my system 💪
