Have a look at the picture again. 📌How may feelings according to this picture can you identify having felt in the past or right now in the present. The word authentic is used a lot these days and often when people use it I become sceptical about them because if we are really true to ourselves we get on with living our lives well without explanation and without the ‘fear’ of others judging us therefore our actions speak louder than any words can. That said it is a word and therefore it has a meaning. I was talking to my youngest yesterday about being honest with how we feel, he is a pretty astute soul who picks up on energy very quickly and is very unafraid to call you it, at times incredibly challenging as a parent but equally reassuring that when he’s feeling something he is not afraid to express it and give me the opportunity to help him process it and move on. Our emotions are are powerful and if we do not process them our body will store them for us until we are ready to access them again and when it comes to ‘trauma’ as humans we are often encouraged to ‘keep calm and carry on ‘ and this mindset is a large contributing factor to the ‘dis-ease’ we see today especially if that trauma has been past down cellularly through the generations. It is worth remembering that trauma is unique to us all and it’s never the event but our memory of it that creates the ‘traumatic memory’ in itself, our feelings matter to us. There is no such thing as a perfect human simply perfectly imperfect ones doing the best they can with what they know now and when they know better they do their best to do better. I was reminded yesterday just how much hurt people hurt people but it’s not what happens that defines us but our ability to respond not react and that comes when our own gut,brain connection is strong we live shamelessly wholeheartedly ourselves and we learn not to take others actions personally but we have sufficient boundaries and belief in ourselves that we choose a perception that plays our own lives forward well and allow others to choose their own paths too whilst noticing everything yet choosing to see the good in what is so we can allow what will be. #mindset #resilience #gutbrain #youareenough #nervoussystem #functionalmedicine #anxiety #authentic #liveyourlifewell #fear #trust #cbt www.loveursoulagency.com

“Distorted thinking” can be an unhelpful process, and when experiencing extreme stress, anxiety, or depression, this kind of thinking can become more exaggerated. Like black and white thinking, living by fixed rules and having unrealistic expectations can lead to guilt and disappointment. Instead of thinking in terms of “should”, “ought”, “must” and “can’t”, thinking “want”, “wish”, or “it would be nice if” can provide a more balanced and mentally healthy perspective. 🎉Hi Everybody! Is it too late to wish you a happy 2019? These past couple weeks have been WILD for me. • • I’m MOVING! This was an unexpected move but ultimately, one I HOPE will be better for me. I’ve lived in the same house for 6.5 years, which is significantly longer than I’ve stayed anywhere since leaving my hometown for college. • I’ve never been attached to houses per say, but I think I am with this one since this is the house that held me through my OCD treatment. • The living room, diagonally from where I’m sitting now, was where I took a phone call trying to get help from who would be my future “coach”, telling him, regretfully, that things had gotten so bad that I couldn’t drive out of my city (and he was 1.5 hours away). There is a spot in my bedroom where I sat on the floor, sobbing to my mom that I couldn’t come home for Christmas for the first time ever. The bathroom-that shower!-has seen me endure rituals of torture to my body and was also the shower in which I STOPPED and broke that ritual. Never again. If that shower could talk.... • And the first time I walked in my bedroom? My thought was that the floor was hardwood and there was no lock, so there’s no way I could get away with sleeping on the floor on bad contamination days like I had previously. • The laundry room was where I’d sit, where I could find the most privacy, my back to the dryer, pepping myself up to try to convince myself I could go to treatment and find success with what I was doing that day. That washing machine? That’s where I broke the ritual of only handwashing my clothes. That sink was where I’d wash my hands in some convoluted fashion, over and over, everytime I touched my keys, my laptop, my wallet, and money. 🚪The red front door you see? I walked through it to step forward in life, to drive an hour and a half away, and try ERP, try making some of this go away. And in less than two weeks, I’ll walk out of that red front door for the last time, (continued in comments)...

Recently I had a really good group discussion about relationships, which turned into a discussion about one's relationship with self, self-love, self-respect, self-worth, and trusting oneself before being able have other meaningful relationships. Be it romantic, family, friends, or professional. . . Only a short time later I stumbled across this quote by Atticus, "The hardest step she ever took was to blindly trust who she was" this hit me, as it's true on so many levels. In the past several years there have been numerous occasions where I had to trust in myself and my decisions, admittedly some of these decisions were hard, and almost impossible to make. I had to believe in myself, trust myself, and take a leap of faith. In doing so I learned so much, gained that self-love, self-respect, self-esteem, self-worth, and confidence. . . It can be hard to know what's right for us, especially in a world full of stigmas and opinions. Learning to trust the process and trust oneself can take time, but it's absurd worth it. Along our journey we often run into obstacles which make us question these things, or sometimes temporary lose them. It's important to remember that you know yourself better than anyone else, and that it's not only not selfish, but necessary to put yourself first. If you don't take care of yourself, who will? Now that you know what signs to look out for when worrying the next step is to IDENTIFY YOUR WORRIES. ⚡ Practical worries – these are current problems which we CAN do something about. E.g ”I need to make sure I have enough money for my bills this month”, “I have to meet my deadline” or “I can’t keep the place clean and tidy”. For all of these worries there is a PRACTICAL SOLUTION ⚡ Hypothetical worries – these tend to be worries about future uncertainties that we have little control over. Often they start with “what if…” and can easily catastrophise into the worst-case scenario which may have a small likelihood of happening. E.g “what if my train is late today… what if I’m late for work… what if I get fired… what if I can't get another job..
