#MondayMotivation to get back to stage! I failed my initial "reverse" from my first bikini comp. I'm unable to wear most of my training clothes from my 66 week prep to stage. In fact I am bigger than when I started. Luckily I can hide away in the funny tees I bought the hubby. Failure came from a number of factors and next time I compete, I hope to try something different to not have this result. But it wasn't from lack of training or following a meal plan. Maybe not the right plan for my old bod. No matter how #emo I am feeling about this...I will not be stopped. I am now getting excellent advice and guidance from @sarahtaylor_posingandprepcoach And I'm progressing. First will be Tough Mudder in November and then my first #olympicweightlifting Novice competition early in 2018. Then it's time to really grow! I am learning a lot. It's been a while since I have posted on here but I thought I better get back to it so here it is! We have settled in really well up here and are starting to get ourselves back into a routine. I find I really need routine in my life and I train alot better with it. I have continually trained hard and as we are no longer in Melbourne we both haven't had the awesome guidance of our previous trainers. Mentally going back to training in a commercial gym and having no programming by a professional has been hard. I have had doubt in my abilities, technique and overall gym routine. However I have pushed passed it and gotten back into what feels like a good schedule and I have regained my confidence. I have been programming myself in the mean time and always trying to make progression in everything that i do. I find that I put alot of pressure on myself not only to hit numbers but to do it with perfection. Sometimes I can get so down on myself when I know my own technique isn't perfect, to the point where sometimes I want to cry, like in the gym, immediately after I do a shit rep. So not normal πŸ˜‚ I don't know why I care so much about lifting weights and being strong but I do... and I know that on the other end of the scale when I am strong and I do hit my numbers with good technique I am on the biggest high. None of this is easy but it so worth it. And another one lol... The Donkey Kick! Great free weight exercise for the booty as well as the hammies (hamstrings) Grab a dumbbell! Like the fire hydrant, you will be on your hands and knees with the weight tucked behind the knee. Hands shoulder length apart, core engaged (don't drop the low back or arch it), foot flexed (No ballerina feet), bring the knee forward and donkey kick back. Control the leg, don't let it just wobble all over... tuck, kick and repeat lol. If you want to focus on the hammie, hold the leg out in kick position and pulse (short movements). Another free weight exercise! This one is the fire hydrant (yes, it looks like a dog peeing lol). Another simple but very effective workout for the booty. Grab a dumbbell! Dont get anything heavier than a 12.5lbs cause you will be tucking this behind your knee and it can get uncomfortable using anything heavier (I'm using a 5lbs). Hello luvs! Was asked about some free weight ideas for the booty and legs πŸ˜„, this is one of my favorites... Sumo Squat with a dumbbell. Sumo squats are amazing! They target ever muscle in the booty group as well as our quads and inner thigh with less range of motion. The perfect go to for shaping the booty! Grab a dumbbell! For beginners, I would start with a 25lbs (If it feels too light, move up in weight BUT DON'T COMPROMISE FORM FOR WEGHT). Sumo Squat position is wider than the average squat, so feet will be a bit farther than shoulder width, feet evenly aligned (meaning don't have one forward and one back), toes point outwards and always remember! YOUR KNEES GO WHERE YOUR FEET GO, DO NOT have your foot pointing strait and your knee going to the side or vise versa. Shoulders back, neutral back (don't arch) and squat right into it! Beginners: 3 sets of 10-15 reps each For my more advanced booties: 4-5 sets 20-25 reps each Always keep a neutral neck by looking straight ahead, don't look up, or what I'm doing in this video lol, looking down (Lol yes trainers make mistakes too). And last but not least, DO NOT TRY AND SHOW OFF BY TRYING TO REP THE HEAVIEST WEIGHT, please be smart about it! Thanks again for all the support! Even if you aren’t vegetarian (aka me πŸ˜†), tofu makes a great meal!! Here’s my recipe for this beautiful baked tofu & purple cabbage! ✿ Serving size: 5 ✿ Macros per serving: 15f/13c/18p ✿ Ingredients: β€’ 2 packages of extra firm tofu β€’ 4 garlic cloves β€’ ΒΌ cup reduced sodium soy sauce β€’ Β½ purple cabbage β€’ 2 tsp minced ginger β€’ 2 tsp red pepper flakes β€’ 2 Tbs sesame oil β€’ 1 bunch of green onion ✿ Directions: cut tofu into bite size squares and chop cabbage into bite size chunks. Mix all other ingredients together in a bowl and mix in tofu pieces and cabbage chunks, let marinate for 30mins. Preheat oven to 375’. Move tofu cabbage mixture onto a non-stick pan and bake for 30min (10min longer if you want it crispy). Remove from oven and sprinkle with chopped green onion. Serve! I served mine with some baby bok choy πŸ˜πŸ’•. Enjoy!

Love this quote. You see so many talking but you never see the outcome. Actions speak louder than words. Stop talking and start doing, no one needs to know your goals or plans. Posting about them on social media may make you feel like you’re held accountable, but there’s nothing like putting your goals down on paper and mapping out the way you’re going to achieve them. Let’s not forget to mention how that paper isn’t going to talk back to you and give you its opinion and tell you it’s not possible like some people do. Stay quiet and do the work.... for YOU.
