My night... . Sleep study number one. Here's hoping I actually sleep. . Not gonna lie, feeling pretty anxious. I dont do sleep well. I never have. So now the thought of lying here, in a strange place, HAVING TO FALL ASLEEP doe not have me in a restful frame of mind. . Oh, and the fact I accidentally fell asleep for 3 hours this afternoon probably won't help, either. . Wish me luck! . . . . #functionalish #chronicillness #chronicpain #chronicfatigue #invisibleillness #epsteinbarr #chronicwarrior #livingwithlimits #abundantlife #faithblogger #sleepstudy

These kids make me laugh so much. My days have been brightening up spending time with them. Teaching them new games, catching funny pictures of them sleeping in the back of my car. My full on phase one of the Elimination Diet started today. Most of the day I've had a headache and the post nasal drip has started. I've taken activated charcoal between meals to help ease some of the detox symptoms and get the waste out of my system. Bonding with my new brother Hendrix @nakedchickenlegs ☺️ He’s a very weird dog, and he doesn’t always understand what I’m trying to tell him. Just this morning, I gave a frustrated bark to him because he didn’t respond to my play-bow 🐶 I’ve play-bowed and brought him toys, but he doesn’t seem to get it? But then he’ll come and rub himself against me like in this video, and I think that means he likes me? ☺️ I really like having a brother around, even if he’s kinda weird - I just wish he’d steal my food less and play with me more! 😋 . Video description: Kelsie stands still in a carpeted living room while Hendrix, a tabby cat, weaves back and forth in front of her and rubs up against her affectionately. Her tail is curled in excitement, but she clearly doesn’t quite know how to respond. at Hanover, New Hampshire

☑️Hotel reservation ☑️Husband PTO approved ☑️Schedule re-arranged ☑️Dog care arranged ☑️Practice visualization of procedure (read: worry and obsess) Anyone else with chronic illness deal with anxiety?! Well, this girl does🙋🏼‍♀️. I think that has been one of the harder elements of chronic illness. I’m getting better at giving myself and my body grace, but procedures are sometimes anxiety producing. My last sleep study was rough. I didn’t know what to expect going into it. All of the cords were weird and uncomfortable, but the worse was knowing every move was being analyzed and recorded. One thing that sometimes helps with anxiety is visualizing the future and walking through it to help mentally prepare, BUT there is a fine line and it can turn into WORRY and anxiety. I have an amazing counselor that I can reach out to when I need help. I asked him for help and this was his response (swipe>>). Just so helpful. BTW- I went through a few counselors before I found this one. The relationship with your counselor is pretty sacred and sometimes you just don’t jive. . . . . #workingtowardwellness #anxiety #anxietyrelief #anxietyreducer #chronicillness #chronicillnesswarrior #spoonie #spoonielife #chronicfatigue #insomniac #insomnia

Everyone wants to know how I did it in such a short amount of time...all ACCOUNTABILITY!!! . Unless you're a person that loves the gym or working out, you need someone to hold you accountable. Because let's face it, we suck at it by ourselves. . Without it, we give the best excuses. Don't we? Start next Monday, after the holidays, after my birthday, the list goes on and on. And we never can pick up where we left off when we stop. . What if you had a way to stop those excuses and not only had 1 person to hold you accountable but had an entire group going through it too with you? . I'm creating an online private community for those serious about taking charge of their health. That want to get through the holidays and loose weight, not gain. That want to crush their goals before that holiday party in that perfect dress. . Includes workouts, meal plans, 24/7 support and accountability to get it done right the first time!! DM me to get started today 💕😊✌ at Torrance, California

In his first book, Medical Medium, Anthony William says that “. . . the best explanation doctors are given [for fibromyalgia] is overactive nerves.” He claims that the root cause of this debilitating state is the Epstein Barr Virus, inflaming both our central nervous system and nerves throughout our bodies, causing excruciating (my word, because I know what it’s like), ongoing pain, sensitivity to touch, severe fatigue and a host of other awful issues. _ 🌬It is such a wildly difficult thing to experience.🌬🙏💗 _ Personally, I have noticed the strangest trend beginning about 48 hours leading up to then through any full moon, that nerve pain ramps up from about a 6 to an 11. 😫😠 It’s hard to deal with physically. Emotionally, too. _ So this past weekend, I decided to try an experiment. ONDAMED recently unrolled a dedicated Fibromyalgia Protocol. It’s 6 sessions of frequencies curated by a biophysicist and a naturopath to address the experience of fibromyalgia in the body. For the last two days I’ve done sessions 1 & 2. I also added a beautiful Aggression Reduction bundle a la cart, because, you know. Nerve pain + full moon = 🤯 _ The immediate affect was AMAZING! ✨🙏💕 _ My 11 level of discomfort dropped during the treatment to about a 4. Even lower than a typical, manageable day! And I felt calmer, my anger dissipated, more balanced . . . even soothed! ☀️ _ One of my missions with Highly Sensitive Healing is to share the beautiful healing potential and power of ONDAMED Pulsed Electromagnetic Frequency (PEMF) Therapy with other women out there who are suffering in so many ways and looking for a better way to help themselves feel better. This particular madness, overactive nerves, can be helped, can be allieviated, even reversed on a cellular level using ONDAMED. _ If you are suffering and ready for gentle, personalized healing you can trust, I am here to help you as a Certified ONDAMED Practitioner. Check out the services link in my bio to see all the delicious frequency bundles contained within the Fibromyalgia Protocol, or any other protocol that might fit your needs better. And consider reaching out. I really believe you’ll be glad you did. 🙏✨💕💕 at Scottsdale, Arizona

(Added a typical previous month so there's my 'normal' amount of anxiety (I have GAD)) Uuugh idk what to do. My appt is 3 weeks away, & already my anxiety is extreme (beginning of the month was terrible as it was when we booked it). I'm beginning to have panic attacks & my sleep is significantly being affected. This is scary, because it will trigger a manic episode, & that's not fun for ANYBODY; missed sleep for both of us, running my body into the ground, damages in terms of spending & behaviour, psychosis. GP appts are *the* medical appt that trigger such a strong reaction so far in advance...this is because of so many appts that were hugely traumatic & so many doctors that are awful. Idk where this leaves me, idk how to manage this 😕 It would possibly help if this surgery had appts in a few days' time rather than 3-5 weeks away, but that's not possible 😶 Venting here because not many people can empathise irl...it's usually titheads saying "oh you just have to do it don't you" (easy for you to say you pleb, you wouldn't end up manic, psychotic & out of control 😑) #thenhssucks #disabled #spoonie #disability #chronicpain #chronicfatiguesyndrome #cfsme #POTSsyndrome #dysautonomia #chronicfatigue #chronicallyill #chronicillness #bipolardisorder #bipolar #psychosis #anxiety #generalisedanxietydisorder #GAD

I’m dying to see my therapist tomorrow. I’m legit 99% certain I have borderline personality disorder (The psychiatrist who tested me for autism, which apparently I don’t have but there is some kind of social disability, said there was more than just depression and anxiety but she didn’t know what) I’ll go more into detail in my next post, but I fit literally almost all the symptoms, and had it suggested to me a while ago by someone online who I vented to and who had a mother with it, so it’s come up before. Today I am overflowing with gratitude. In the past when I had a busy weekend I would get extremely nervous. The what if’s would come creeping into my mind. What if I flare that day? What if I have to cancel plans and disappoint someone? What if my body disappoints me yet again? This weekend was busy, and I was nervous. So many times my body would ruin things for me and I got used to that, but not this time. My symptoms stayed low enough to let me live my life and for the first time in a long time, I forgot about MCAS. I had gentle yoga with a new friend. My family visited and we toured the Biltmore Estate here in Asheville. Afterward I even danced and sang karaoke without a care in the world. I asked myself several times last night, who is this person? The new self care routine and xolair treatment is completely changing my quality of life. If you had told me even a month ago that I would be doing all of these things in just one weekend I would’ve never believed it. I’m so thankful to have found a new plan that is working for me. So keep fighting, keep searching and keep hoping, one day it just might all pay off. 💓• • • • #mcas #butyoudontlooksick #invisibleillness #chronicfatigue #chronicpain #chronicallyfabulous #autoimmunewarrior #anxietywarrior #fibrowarrior #fibrofighter #histamineintolerance #lowhistamine #glutenfree #pcosawareness #chronicillness #chronicillnesswarrior #cbd #chronicfatiguesyndrome #ehlersdanlos #ehlersdanlossyndrome #eds #mcs #spoonie #mastcellactivationdisorder #spoonielife #spoonies #pcos #polycysticovariansyndrome

@iamjoy_ox

I dont usually eat breakfast until about 1pm because I fast for 12-16 hours daily. ⏰ I didn't wake up one day and say "I am going to start intermittent fasting". When I worked at COAF I was on a time schedule with my eating for over 5 years for every meal and snack, breakfast through dinner. When I left that job a little over a year ago, I started listening to my body's queues and paying attention to the time it was that I got hungry because I wasnt tied to a strict schedule. It turns out that most of the time I am not hungry before 1pm, I dont like oatmeal for my first meal and I was always eating the wrong foods for my body. 🤦🏻‍♀️ These days I drink water, sometimes tea or coffee, in the morning. I'll eat if I feel like I need to before 1pm, but it isn't often, and honestly sometimes I dont eat until 3pm. Whatever time it is, the first thing I usually eat is raw, fresh fruit. 🍍🍊🍓 Fruit is so full of nutrients that my (and your!) body needs, and I want the first thing I eat every day to benefit me all day long. A lot of folks are against fruit because they believe it has too much sugar in it. The sugar in fresh fruit is natural unlike the added sugar in processed foods, frozen fruit, and yogurts. Fruit wont give you a sugar high that makes you crash a little while later. It will boost your immune system though.🤗 I believe that both eating fruit for breakfast and fasting have helped with my weight loss, and have also helped my focus and fatigue throughout the day. 🎯 Swipe to read about some health benefits of oranges, pineapple, and cantaloupe. 👌🏼 #plantbased #cows #hangoutwiththemdonteatthem at Frisco, Texas

Waiting at the pharmacy. I just got out of my appointment with my spine surgeon. I just want to say that although he doesn't know what's going on or why, he believes me! He is fantastic! . They did a new set of x-rays to make sure nothing super obvious was going on. He showed me the images and explained that my fusion looks good and totally healed, the disc above looks okay from what they can see in an x-ray. At that point I started explaing what is going on and he threw the idea of an MRI out, but he said it probably won't show much or change anything in terms of treatment for now. . He doesn't have any idea why I am having a shooting sharp pain down my leg sometimes. If it was nerve it would be constant. He doesn't have any idea why I am in so much more pain than I was a month ago. But he believes that I am. I explained that I have tried everything I can think of from otc meds to massage and core strengthening. I explained that I have been doing gentle core stuff and feel worse and have more pain now than I did before. He got a puzzled look. . I talked about how I know I have put on some weight (not horrible, but enough I can tell and I am sure it's not helping my back). I told him I really want to be able to move around and exercise but I just end up in tears. He was completely understanding! He totally got what I was talking about and agreed that I obviously want to do better I am just stuck in a really sticky place right now. . So although he doesn't have any answers and we have acknowledged I will always be in pain, but this is different, he is Trying to help. He has put me back on the tramadol and flexeril. His exact words were "I wish I could do more than just throw pills at you, but there isn't much there and I want you to be able to move, be active, and enjoy life again." I'm pleased! I wish there was something going on, but I'm also grateful there isn't. I am grateful to be validated and understood. I hate that the only answer right now meds, but I am so blessed to be a patient of a dr who understands and even more than that, is willing to still provide medicatiom for me. I am so lucky!

The field of psychoneuroimmunology has scientifically proven and supported, in numerous ways, the health-blocking effects of chronic, psychological stress. - While ALL systems of the body are impacted by psychological stress, the system that takes the brunt of it and is most often the 1st to be impacted is the digestive tract. - SURE!....Supplements and diet are HUGELY important in helping to heal the gut; no doubt about it! - BUT..... - The efficacy of supplements and dietary changes is largely contingent upon the mind-body system's ability to be in a state of rest and digest more so than in fight or flight. - If you have been working to heal your gut for years and bio-hacking other aspects of your health yet are still stuck in an illness rut, then I'd say it is time to take a long, hard look at the role that your internal world is playing in your continued challenges. - Mind influences Body and Body Influences Mind!

I live in a city and don’t have immediate access to trees or nature, so when I’m at my parents’ house I take full advantage! 🌲I find nature to be a form of medicine. On this day I could barely get out of bed, but after walking barefoot on the grass 👣 and touching/connecting with this tree for a while I felt so much better and had a lot more energy.🌿✨ I always picture myself absorbing energy from the tree, sending it through my body and into the earth, and then absorbing energy from the earth, sending it through my body and into the tree. 💫 . My first #unseenanu invisible illness painting (1/3): Chronic Fatigue Syndrome . Unexplained exhaustion. Aches and pains. Memory and cognitive difficulties. Digestive system ailments. Sleep changes. 😩 . For a long time, scientists have struggled to understand the variety of symptoms present with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome – symptoms which can affect every system in the body but vary greatly between individuals. Many doctors have assumed that it isn’t a real disease and that it’s all ‘in the mind’.🤕 . While the overall cause of CFS is still a mystery, scientists have recently found a faulty immune cell receptor in people with CFS. The fault causes cellular energy transfer to suffer. This receptor is present throughout the body - which might explain why the symptoms are so varied. Read more: https://bit.ly/instaCFS --- This week I’m having an art exhibition for one of my other painting projects (and uni assessment!): an interactive science communication mini-exhibition on invisible illnesses ( #unseenanu). 🎨 Check out it out at https://bit.ly/instaunseen ! at The Australian National University

Cricket was very good and didn’t spook at anything but he was feeling quite lazy tonight which is unlike him, he’s normally very forward! "The typical person with degenerative disc disease is active, otherwise healthy and in his or her 30s or 40s. ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Common symptoms of this condition include:⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ · Pain that is worse when sitting. While seated, the discs of the lower back have three times more load on them than when standing.⠀ · Pain that gets worse when bending, lifting or twisting.⠀ · Feeling better while walking or even running than while sitting or standing for long periods of time.⠀ · Feeling better changing positions often or lying down.⠀ · Periods of severe pain that come and go. These last from a few days to a few months before getting better. They can range from nagging pain to disabling pain. Pain can affect the low back, buttocks and thighs or the neck, depending on where the affected disc is, radiating to the arms and hands.⠀ · Numbness and tingling in the extremities.⠀ · Weakness in the leg muscles or foot drop, a possible sign of damage to the nerve root.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Degenerative disc disease isn't actually a disease, but rather a condition in which a damaged disc causes pain. This pain can range from nagging to disabling.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The condition can be caused by the drying out of the disc over time, daily activities, sports and injuries." #Repost @greenbasehealth ・・・ What is ChronicPain? Technically chronic pain is defined as ongoing pain that lasts longer than 12 weeks. Sometimes WAY longer. Although it may stem from an #acuteinjury like a #backstrain, #caraccident, or old #sportsinjury, this persistent pain may be sticking around because of an ongoing or unknown cause. This can lead to more health problems like #sleepdisruption, #depression, #appetite changes, #chronicfatigue, and chronic #inflammation. Hey guys! Today has been ok apart from pretty horrible payback from yesterday’s beach walk. Pains and aches all over, not much different from most days just a bit more intense today. I’ve noticed more recently as Jack sometimes points it out that my knee/leg clicks every time I walk, I think I’d just got used to it but now I notice it more it’s so annoying and I don’t think there’s much I can do about it😩 I’ve been trying to stay positive and I think I’m doing a little better at it. Setting my mind to some little craft projects lately. I should have one finished tomorrow so I can show you all! So today I’ve mainly been learning about amino acids in my nutrition studies. Wow! So fascinating! We all know about the importance of vitamins and minerals in our diet but amino acids are literally the building blocks of our cells. The body creates some of these naturally but there are essential amino acids that can only come from our diets. They affect all of our bodily systems so the importance of getting a balanced diet which includes these is immense! As a vegan with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, I’m certain a boost to my intake in these can really help me so I’ve ordered some L-Tyrosine which is researched to be effective in helping ease chronic fatigue, amongst other things. If you’re interested in finding out more, get in touch but in the meantime, here is a short video I’ve found which explains the importance of amino acids. 🥒🥦🥕🍅🥝🍏 #nutrition #aminoacids #vegan #health #fitness #fibromyalgia #chronicfatigue #ME #narcolepsy #narcoleptic #protein #diet #cleaneating #holistictherapies #therapist #holistic #food https://youtu.be/Nf2ChNYxYQc

Doing my best to keep up, with #Husband's help of course. Well, a lot of husband's help. Anyway, I am officially #27weekspregnant and 4 days as of today!💙 We're looking forward to our #28weekspregnant #growth #Ultrasound #tomorrow 😍 #Baby never shows us his face and we are hoping to finally not only get his face but get our first #3dultrasoundpicture since our first growth scan at #12weekspregnant - Can't believe there is nearly, only 12 weeks left to go 😱💙 #Christmasbaby 🎄👶 #maladylife #pregnancy #mommytobe #chronicillness #mommyvlogger #PCOS #Fibromyalgia #autoimmunedisease #gestationaldiabetes #chronicfatigue #disabledveteran

Tonight I made the 🌟Nacho Cheese Fries🌟from the @medicalmedium blog! They were so good, hearty, and filling!😋🙌🏻 . Did you know potatoes are excellent for healing chronic illness? They have gotten a bad rap for a long time, and even called “disease-producing”, but that couldn’t be further from the truth! “Potatoes are wrongly accused of contributing to obesity, diabetes, cancer, Candida overgrowth, and many other conditions, while in truth these miraculous tubers can reverse these illnesses”. . Potato plants draw some of the highest concentration of macro and trace minerals from the earth. They are antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial. And they even assist you with stress and reverse stress damage. If you have anxiety? Bring potatoes in! They really are one of the perfect foods to aid the body in healing from chronic illness and moving it forward into a better place🙌🏻🌟😌 Often overlooked, but one to tend to!😍 . Here’s the recipe below😀👇🏻 Fries: 2-3 Russet potatoes 1 tsp paprika 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp dried oregano 1/2 tsp sea salt . Nacho Cheese Sauce 1 large potaoto, diced 1 carrot, diced 1 tsp turmeric 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp cayenne 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tsp sea salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 cup steaming water/veg stock . Preheat oven to 400F. Cut the potatoes into thick fries, then place them in a bowl with paprika, garlic powder, dried oregano, and sea salt. Toss to coat. Arrange the potatoes on baking tray with parchment paper. Place in oven and bake for 20-25 min flipping halfway. . To make the sauce, add a couple of inches of water to a medium sized pot and place a steaming basket in it. Add the diced potato and carrot, cover and cook for 25-30 minutes until soft. Remove from heat and set the steaming water aside. Place the cooked potatoes and carrots in a blender with turmeric, garlic powder, cayenne, lemon juice, sea salt, pepper and the steaming water. Blend until very smooth. Serve in a bowl with the fries🍟🙌🏻😋 . These were perfect for my cold and sinus with the kick of cayenne, and helped settle my stomach! . YUM!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Info- @medicalmedium

Some matcha all-stars at the workshop over the weekend! ✨I’ve spent the last two years doing mostly lectures and speaking engagements about how to take control of your health through diet, lifestyle and personal empowerment. . It was SO FUN to be able to do a hands on workshop on how to put some of these ideas into practice. What should we dive into next? Any ideas about what you’d love to learn about? I’m all ears! at The Piranha Shop

Tired & zero clue why?⠀ .⠀ First, rule out the easy stuff that could be making you fatigued, ask your doctor to order these tests:⠀ 🔑Thyroid Panel (TSH, Free T3 and T4, reverse T3, and TPO and TGB antibodies)⠀ 🔑Vitamin D3⠀ 🔑Vitamin B12 (preferably a red blood cell concentration test, hold on your supplements for a week b/f taking the test)⠀ 🔑Iron Studies (Ferritin, Total iron, TIBC, % Saturation)⠀ 🔑Sleep study (if you snore, have a.m. headaches, always wake unrefreshed)⠀ .⠀ If all these look “okay”even by functional standards (ideal range for optimal tissue and organ function) it’s time to look into adrenal and mitochondrial causes of chronic fatigue.⠀ .⠀ There are functional laboratory tests to aid in the identification of these conditions.⠀ .⠀ In addition to the extensive health history I take, I also use:⠀ 📍“Rhythm plus lab test” (adrenal and hormone dysfunction)⠀ 📍“Nutreval lab test” (includes oxidative stress markers and mitochondria metabolites)⠀ 📍Data from 23&me to identify genetic SNPs impairing your body’s ability to detoxify and methylate (clean your blood and activate your food’s nutrients)⠀ .⠀ These helpful tools help to confirm these contributing issues, and create a personalized treatment plan.⠀ .⠀ ✨Want to see if these specialized tests would be ideal for you?⠀ AND/OR⠀ ✨Want to have a personalized treatment plan created based on these test results (if you already have them)?⠀ .⠀ Book a FREE 15 min session with me to see how we can work together to create a personalized healing plan built for YOU. 👉 link in bio 👉 @dr.laceychittle⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ #functionalfood#functionalmedicine#drlaceychittle#functionalfoods#functionalnutrition#integrativemedicine#chronicillness#chronicfatigue#chronicpain#chronicfatiguesyndrome#chronicpainsucks#chronicpainrelief#autoimmunedisease#aip#autoimmunepaleo#autoimmunehealing#autoimmunewellness#autoimmunediet#hashimotos#hashimoto#thyroidhealth#hashimotodiet#healinghashimotos#thyroiditis#mindfullness#soundmindsoundbody#mindfulmovement#mindfulliving#presentmoment#meditateeverydamnday

#mondays. Woke up early due to intense back spasms. Finally laid back down. Overslept. Hauled ass through a monsoon to make it to my #gastrointerologist appointment late. Was still seen. Have a gameplan, #edoscopy and #colonoscopy soon. Knocked out bloodwork. Discussed why humira may not have been my best option. Badically, I feel and look like shit but I am in much higher spirits than I had anticipated! All things considered. And they even treated me like a #humanbeing! Now kebbo and I are hitting a few hotspots in owensboro, since it'd been so long since we've been here. Today's lunch was a delicious pesto chicken Greek salad! I baked a pound of chicken breast with an arugula pesto this weekend -- it's perfect for a salad today and tomorrow, and then I'll be making brown rice tortilla wraps with it for the following two days! I'm all about doing one protein for meal prep and then finding easy ways to transform it into a few different meals so that I'm not eating the exact same thing every day. Eventually I'll work up to the reintroduction phase, but for right now I'm making the most of this elimination phase 🌟 at New York, New York

Raise your hand if you’ve recently gone to the doctor, waited FOREVER to be seen, only end up with just five minutes of facetime with your doctor and maybe a prescription for a generic drug or antibiotic. This is the reality for most Americans, and it can be frustrating! Luckily, over the last several years, doctors have begun to change their methods by looking at the WHOLE body, and taking factors like diet, stress, and exercise into consideration when making diagnosis and making recommendations. This method of looking at the mind and body as an integrative system is called, “functional medicine.” Over the next few days, we’ll be exploring some of the most popular tips, diets, and many more holistic health and wellness tricks and tips that many swear by! Stay tuned! 🎶 Isn't she lovely? Isn't she wonderful? 🎶 That song is going to be stuck in my head all day now! But that's all I could think about when I poured this glass! 🍉 Amazing the mindset and mood shifts we see when we bring high vibrational healing foods into our lives! Not to mention, healing! • Watermelon is an excellent fruit that effectively hydrates, detoxifies, and cleanses the entire body on a cellular level. It is rich in vitamins A and C as well as lycopene, beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin which are excellent for providing protection from lung, mouth, pancreatic, breast, prostate, endometrial, and colon cancer. • Watermelon is also known to significantly reduce inflammation, help flush out edema, aid in weight loss, and alleviate depression. Watermelon can also boost the immune system as well as strengthen vision. Watermelon is not nearly as high in sugar as most people think as it has half the sugar than an apple!! The fruit sugar fear is a all myth anyway! But that's a completely different post. • Watermelon is loaded with antioxidants that have the ability to neutralize free radical molecules and aid in the prevention of chronic illnesses. The rind of the watermelon is equally beneficial as it is one of the highest organic sodium foods in nature and one of the best sources of chlorophyll and can be juiced for a delicious and healing drink. • And, if you are lucky enough to get a watermelon with black seeds, even better! Crunch those seeds up too, they have an amazing effect on the nervous system, aiding in relaxing the body and lowering blood pressure and contain helpful amounts of iron, zinc, and protein. Cheers to healing, loves! 🍉

👋🏻 inflammation! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3 days p/o (second pic) -> 10 days p/o (first pic). Keep in mind that I was still retaining gas from anesthesia and my bowels weren’t regulated yet in the second picture, but still! I’ve always been bigger boned but one thing I always had was a flat stomach. When I started gaining weight here I thought I was just getting older and my metabolism was slowing down. Yet when nothing would budge no matter what I did, I had a suspicion that there was something else going on. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I still get bloated throughout the day (which is normal) but it’s not to the point of being uncomfortable (I used to always get that painful distended feeling). I even had pasta last night and didn’t wake up feeling like a total blob. 👏🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve been pretty achey the past few days but I know this is a normal part of healing, especially as my body starts to regulate itself again. And while I’m anxious to get back to working out, I’m trusting the process that what my body needs right now is rest. One foot in front of the other. We got this. 😎💪🏻

Yesterday I got these horrid drains removed and got to see my wonderful surgeon who greeted me with, “what symptoms have gone away so far?!” Going into this process, I didn’t realize how much I needed someone who believes in the ways a foreign body can negatively affect your health. I have no doubt that there's a portion of this that is psychosomatic—just knowing that it’s out of my body and being able to breathe easier—but there is also so much to be said about the body fighting something that it doesn’t want in there. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The past few days have been a little tough as I’ve had my period and many ladies report feeling a little out of sorts around the one week mark as all meds start to leave your system—BUT I’m not on my butt as I usually am during my cycle, which is a serious feat with endo. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Other positive changes I’ve noticed: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ *Inflammation slowly but surely leaving the body. This picture was taken two days ago when I was still pretty bloated, but I’m documenting the progress. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ *Decreased body odor?! This one’s wild but I used to sweat profusely, even when I wasn’t doing much. Not to be gross but I wasn’t able to shower for a week with the drains and I hardly smelled. I used to release a metallicy smell from my underarms when I would sweat (presumably from all the chemicals & toxins contained within the implants). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ *More stable moods, YEAAAAH. This one’s huge and shout out to Nick for dealing with my crazy over the past few years. I’m assuming it’s from my hormones stabilizing so I will be interested to see what my levels show when I get new blood-work. Implants can mimic estrogen in our body, and I was very estrogen dominant the past couple years. Normally I’m an emotional wreck after surgery and with any big life changes, but I have been surprisingly calm and levelheaded (Nick’s words- not mine, lol). I also feel much less anxious. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m cleared to begin walking/stretching and I go back to get my stitches out next week. Yay for fall weather, ya girl’s totally gonna get her steps in while being basic and enjoying something pumpkin. 🎃
