There is a reason why the Heroes are so painful. There is a reason why those WODs ask us to do more than we think is physically possible, why they ask us to lift heavier weights, or set our boxes taller or go for longer rep schemes. There is a reason why, after it is all said and done, you aren't quite sure if you can get up and walk away. Because what each and everyone of those Heroes (and Veteran's and current active duty members) did allows you to walk away day after day. It allows you to live in a world that has less fear and anger and hatred than it does love and peace. They have allowed you to walk outside and breathe in the morning air without the fear of mortar raining down on you. They have allowed you to forget about all that is wrong, or easily can be wrong with the world as you cook up your breakfast eggs, to walk down the street without fear of being taken, to celebrate whatever religious holidays you desire in the coming months without fear of reprisals. Not being able to get up and walk away after a WOD seems like such an insignificantly small price to pay. Like fractions of pennies in a jar. So today, when many of you are facing whiteboards calling out Hero WODs, remember what you enjoy. Know that you enjoy far more than you can even comprehend. And kill yourself getting it done. Don't save anything in the tank so you can get up and walk away. Put it all on the line. Say thank you to all the Veteran's you can find. Foto della settimana scorsa post Lower con focus sul quadricipite. Split: Back squat 3x3s 167,5kg Affondi camminati busto verticale 6x10-15xl Hack SQUAT alla Smith macchine 6x10-15 (ev con test pause) Curl manubri 45° 4x15-20 Curl hammer con corda 4x20-25. Uscito dal minicut ho rialzato le kcal di 200 suddivise tra pro grassi e carbo. Non ho mai tenuto le pro ai valori attuale circa 183 di media ovvero un 2,6 per kglmb (credo). La composizione è migliorata e il peso è rimasto pressoché invariato (segno di recomp). Questa era l ultima settimana del blocco attuale (la quarta) dove ho accusato soprattutto in questi 2 ultimi di un calo di performance e primo possibile segnale di overreaching. Prossima settimana dunque scarichero attivamente e riprenderò poi in maniera leggermente più conservativa sul volume spingendo maggiormente sulla intensità percepita con tecniche di intensità e range abbastanza lattacidi. Per l incremento delle kcal valuterò al termine della prossima settimana anche se attualmente pernso di alzare di 150kcal prevalentemente da grassi e pro. A little bit of science for you👀 - How does a muscle contract? - Before a muscle can contract an action potential has to occur. An action potential is created through the controlled movement of sodium and potassium electrolytes into or out of the cells. At the end of the axon terminals are small sacs containing acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is able to be released into the synaptic cleft which allows for an action potential which stimulates muscles to contract. - The action potential releases calcium ions, which allows troponin and tropomyosin to be moved out of the way to allow for a cross bridge to be formed. When a muscle contracts a cross bridge needs to be formed where two contractile proteins connect being the actin (thin filaments) and myosin (thick filaments) known as the sliding filament theory!

#flashbackfriday to @europagamesexpo in Orlando Florida 2016 my very first show ever. Went into this show blind. Literally not knowing anything of the sport really. I lost a bet to a client and had to do a show. Little did I know this was a really huge show! By the grace of God I ended up placing second in my class of about 20+. It was then a light switch came on and I realized I may have a talent for this. Went on a few months later to win my next show and one show later 2017 I had my Pro card...I’m excited to see what I can bring in the years to come to the Olympia stage because believe me if it’s his will, I will be on that stage!

Yesterday's conditioning circuit: 1.5 minutes on rower (not pictured) Reverse lunges X 10 PS Dead bug with heavy kettlebell iso hold X 10 PS Ski swings x 15 Repeat for a total of 4 rounds With this circuit you move continuously between the exercises resting only as needed. Move at a pace that allows you to maintain optimal form. These circuits are a great finisher for a strength workout, or can be used as a stand alone.
