In the first video he is wearing some @kineticbandstraining to allow his glutes to activate as well as restrict his movement while he does specific ball agility work and dribbling work. The second video he is doing the same exercise this time without the @kineticbandstraining and he is much more smoother/ quicker. Unless you are training to get fitter for a specific event, you needn’t limit yourself to only 1 or even a few types of CV if general fitness is your goal... This may be good news to you if you find CV boring! Mostly opting for lower impact exercises such as; bikes, rowers, ski-ergs and swimming, over high impact exercises such as; running and treadmill sprints, are generally the more astute choice if you want to reduce your risk of injury and sustain a fitness regime. This is important to think about because if you can develop your fitness levels over the long-term it will go into pretty much everything you do, maybe even make you feel more energetic outside of the gym. In short, your heart hasn’t got a clue what type of exercise you’re doing at the time, all it knows is that it has to adapt to the stress you are putting it under. This goes for both anaerobic (HIIT) and aerobic styles of training, so you can be varied in your exercise selection. The exception to this take on a more varied approach to CV selection is if you are training for an event that requires experience in a certain discipline; such as a marathon, in which case you will need to get skilled in running and you should pick this over other forms of CV. I wasn't having much of anything. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ • I was ready to give up deadlifting at 135 pounds without even trying for more. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ • But because I had someone who wouldn't take my shit, I was pushed to lift 205 pounds, Ya'll. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ That is a new record for me in deadlifting and I wouldn't have gotten remotely close to it were it or for someone telling me to stop my whining and get my shit done. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I didn't even realize this was possible and because of that push and that workout my endorphins shot through the roof. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ It got me out of my I can't headspace and showed me that I CAN do it and better yet I should be doing it, even when, ESPECIALLY when I don't want to... like really really don't want to.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Remember that it's not the easy stuff that allows you to grow and become someone you're proud of. If you can already do something it's time to move up, (wo)man up, and push yourself to the next level. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Life isn't about easy. Easy is boring. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ My mood after lifting 135 was the same. Yesterday and today’s workout 🏋️‍♀️ got very busy yesterday so didn’t have time to update on here. Both days have been super sweaty. I may have not finished today’s workout in the time cap, but being so close to the end I couldn’t stop, so finished it 1.25mins after the time cut off. What I’m really proud of these last two days is my box jumps. I used to do step ups or step up and over. Yesterday I used weights to do my first ever “box jump” it’s definitely about confidence to jump up, and didn’t think I had any, but I did and so proud. Legs takes it all, most intense session using the largest muscle group on the body. Followed by almost a week of intense DOMS that just about recover in time for the next leg session. I used to avoid Hog Hill, now it’s currently my favourite track... this probably has something to do with the fact I am able to hang on, whereas before I would be waving goodbye to the bunch after 20mins! Next goal is to do more than hang... it’s to score my first point on the full track! Squat to the bottom, don’t go half way . . Control it down, there’s no rush . . Earn your weights, by building a good base of mechanics and stability . . Stay down there a while, get comfortable with the uncomfortable . . Squats, love em or hate em, we need them and they need us 😂🤪 . . @aaron_marcelino Moving the overheads squats very nicely today, and managed a Personal Best for 5 reps today 💪💪 Well done champ
