I got real familiar with this drill via hot power yoga🕉This variation involves LOTS of stabilization, meaning more work, but more burn🔥 3 sets, 8-10 rounds: . ✔Notice the subtle peak between my shoulder blades- that comes from PUSHING away from the ground, not just holding myself up. ✔Don't let your lower back sag. Lift your hips until you feel your entire core plug in- stay that way while driving your knee up into your chest. ✔Knee TOUCHES both elbows & then comes center. TRY👏TO👏TOUCH👏YOUR👏KNEE👏TO👏YOUR👏ELBOW👏PLZ ✔S-L-O-W D-O-W-N~! I am a huge fan of repping slowly to "feel out" exercises; It should be HARD. Slow down and MAKE YA'SELF FEEL THAT SHIT. ✔Take out the ball to regress this exercise. You can also elevate your hands on a stepper to further modify. I'm building a body that I am proud of. Not one that society deems acceptable by their standards. I don't have a flat stomach. I have rolls when I sit down. Even after working so hard to love the body that I hated for so long, my bmi is still considered to be 'overwieght.' And that's cool with me m. I know that I am healthy. My rolls, stretch marks and saggy skin do not define me. Part of what I am doing by taking care of myself, is showing my son that just because you may look different than someone else, that doesn't mean it's a bad thing. The other part of what I am doing is teaching him to love himself, and the unique things about him that others may deem as flaws. So, this is a reminder for you Momma. Keep going. Keep working on you. Be the best you. Show your children how to live healthy lives while putting the smack down on society's bullshit views.

🔥QUOTE DAY🔥 With treatment, exercise, and movement in general 👉 intention is key 💯 . Bringing more mindfulness and intention to a given task goes a long way in achieving the results you desire. This applies to clinicians, patients, and athletes alike. Take performing an exercise for example ⤵️ . To take a page out of @joelavapt's book... you should FEEL movement ✔️ . This means feeling it in the "right spots" throughout the given task. i.e. If you're feeling your squat in your ankles/knees/low back/shoulders/neck/etc...you should think about changing something (you should be truly feeling that movement in your quadriceps, glutes, and hamstrings to some extent). first attempt modifying/cleaning up the movement pattern but if that doesn't suffice and you've ascertained that there is an impairment, treat accordingly ✅ . As the patient/athlete, there are a couple of things you can do to help accomplish this. A simple one is being more mindful and having a very clear intention with the task - what you are doing ❓, why you are doing it ❓, and how to do it correctly ❓(this is where the clinician comes in to provide appropriate education and cuing). Being more mindful 🤔 with the given task will inherently make you a little more cognizant of, and competent with, the movement. This subsequently improves your proprioception/kinesthesia. When this happens, neural connections become faster and stronger and more importantly, neural plasticity takes place ‼️ . We know that we're not necessarily making structural or physiological adaptations in single treatment/training sessions, so something else must be playing a role in this perceived progression from session to session. This is where neural plasticity comes in to play. A lot of the consistent, early progress and carryover from session to session can be attributed to this. The nervous system reigns supreme yet again 💪 .
