🎖Training Spinal position🎖 Yes, I am definitely fixating on training spinal position these days. I’m continuing to see huge improvements in my own, and my clients, performance and overall feeling of well being. 🤔 It makes sense, you position your spine in it’s designed position and develop a lot of strength to keep it there. This allows your upstream mechanics (shoulders) and downstream mechanics (hips) to have a much higher degree of functionality. 🔥In this exercise I’m using the weight of the kettlebell to increase demand on my core. 🔥I’m also using that weight as a counter force to push my upper thoracic (rib cage) back into the ground to assure that my rib cage is positioned in a downward manner in line with my pelvis. 🔥In this example, my left leg maintains isometric hip flexion and I have to maintain that as I extend my right leg down. 🔥I keep my abdominals engaged to ensure that my pelvis stays posteriorly rotated and aligned with my rib cage. 🧠 Training spinal position not only helps with up and downstream mechanics but with the mechanics of respiration. How do you get rid of stubborn low belly fat?! ⠀ ⠀ I’ve been asked this questions SO many times within the past few weeks so I wanted to do ALL I could to help you out with this one ⠀ ⠀ So many factors are to be taken into account when we talk about “stubborn lower belly fat” & it doesn’t JUST have to do with working out. ⠀ ⠀ Here are a few: ⠀ ⠀ ➡️Nutrition: Are you giving your body the nutritions it needs? Are you eating enough… ? ⠀ ⠀ ➡️Stress: If you are stressed about life OR not giving yourself enough rest and over training this could cause your body to hold onto water, hold fat and bloat you in that area. Stress does A LOT to our bodies⠀ ⠀ ➡️Exercise: Are you on a structure program and making sure you are ACTUALLY activating your core when you are working out? Are you being consistent? ⠀ ⠀ ➡️Water Consumption: Are you drinking enough water? This helps digestion of food, removes toxins and helps burn fat.⠀ ⠀ ➡️Hormones: decreased estrogen levels could be a factor in this all and is known to be a reason in holding on to fat in this area⠀ ⠀ ➡️Alcohol Consumption: yes really, how much are you drinking …we can get into this topic later ⠀ ⠀ So YES the above is a lot to think about! Pull the belly button to spine as you turn to the floor. Maintain abdominal connection when you rotate back. Lift the top leg without letting the hips lower. Strong shoulder stabilization. When you rotate to a high plank Take a wide stance so when you take your arm Back your hips stay square to the floor and you are not leaning or opening up to one side. Another beautiful and hot day for an early run. The run itself was great, technology let me down today. I was going to try to run another trail today, get some hills done, but my watched stopped at the 1.26 mile marker. I did not want to constantly check my watch and do mental math on my run, since it was starting to get warmer, so I just went on the path yesterday of which I knew where to stop. After a slight hiccup, my pace was pretty good. I was feeling a bit sore so I took my time today with the run and enjoyed the nice weather. My workout today was also lighter. I wanted to focus my training on my lats, quads, and hamstrings. I used the TRX and resistance bands we have and focused more on my constricting motions, taking my time with each rep. Surprisingly, my legs and lats were feeling pretty worked. I'm hoping the weather continues to stay nice or at least not get too windy !

I hit a major mental and physical wall about 3 weeks ago (and this is also when my seasonal allergies got REALLY bad).
