Evening...here we are as promised (I’m a man of my word) that bonus image for you, I guess it was only a matter of time before I gave in and did an A30 light trails shot but I was not banking in anyway on capturing a train going through at the same time....delighted with it though, these light trail shots are not as easy as you might think especially at this time of the evening when the traffic was a lot lighter...timing is everything and I think for only my second attempt at light trails it’s come out very well. That is definitely all from me for this week, I will be back on Monday hope to see you all here bright and early....I wish you all a very pleasant weekend. #kernow #cornwall #uk #road #duelcarriageway #lighttrails #longexposure #train #sunset #sky #clouds #colour #evening #autumn #cars #sharingiscaring #photography #nikon #nikonphotography #nofilter #urban #highway #light #fun #lines #igerscornwall #cornwalloncamera #attiliophotoclub #photographerslife #art

Good morning, we end this week with a sunset view of Hallenbeagle mine. Standing beside the railway line at Scorrier two engine houses, a prominent pumping engine house and the remains of a whim both grade 2 listed mark the southern part of Hallenbeagle mine. Between 1835 and 1846 this important copper mine produced more than 30500 tons of copper ore. The mine was reworked as part of Great Wheal Busy United in the early 1860’s but became a separate concern once more in 1864 and produced another 3200 tons of copper ore between 1864 and 1867, following this it was worked briefly with its neighbour under the name Hallenbeagle and East Downs but closed in 1870. In 1943 the mine saw renewed activity when one of its shafts was briefly reopened and prospected for Tungsten. I’m not sure just how many times I’ve driven past this engine house over the years but oddly this is the first time I’ve ever visited the site, the only plan I had when heading out there was to capture a sunset image I wasn’t expecting this pool of water but what a bonus that was capturing not only the reflection of the engine house but also the colour of the sunset and the trees to the left of the engine house....I was very lucky with that although I’m sure after all the recent rain that pool is know much bigger. I might well have a little bonus image for you later just a little something I was playing around with on the same night I took this image.... I’ll leave it there for now, I hope you enjoy today’s photo, incase I miss you later have a great weekend. #kernow #cornwall #uk #cornwalloncamera #attiliophotoclub #lesserknowntalents #igerscornwall #scenicbritain #cornishmining #building #ukpotd #abandoned #history #heritage #sunset #sky #clouds #colour #water #reflection #trees #art #photography #nikon #nikonphotography #nisifilters #photooftheday #landscape #landscapephotography #autumn

Beautiful reflections in the flooded Wheal Maid Valley, as beautiful as this looks it's also deadly so if you venture out there please stay out of the water its deeper than you realise and heavily contaminated!! #kernow #cornwall #uk #cornwalloncamera #cornishmining #whealmaid #flooded #reflections #water #peaceful #beautiful #abandoned #landscape #winter #video #film #shortfilm #shortvideo #mobilevideo #dangerous #youvebeenwarned #photographerslife #entertainment #sunnydays #nofilter #quiet #lovecornwall #colour #manmade #samsung

There have been 17,682 sunrises in my lifetime. Today’s stopped me in my tracks like some sort of welcome punch in the guts. Good morning, Wednesday already....soon be....let’s not mention it!! Today’s images are the last one’s from my visit to RAF Dry Tree and feature the Dry Tree Menhir, Menhir in kernewek (Cornish) means longstone and oh boy is this thing a long stone alright standing at approximately 3 meters (10ft) tall, its a pretty impressive sight!! The Dry Tree Menhir dates from the Bronze Age and like many standing stones was toppled from its position due to the belief that under every standing stone there was a pot of gold!! The Dry Tree Menhir was re-erected Into its current position sometime around 1927/1928 by quarrymen from Porthoustock. I was aware of the existence of this standing stone before I went out onto Goonhilly downs and had planned to include it into my visit thankfully the rain held off long enough for me to capture these images....about 2 minutes later I was soaked through and so I headed home cold and wet but happy with the photos I’d taken. On Friday we’ll be back over Redruth way....provided I’ve got the photo edited and ready to go!! Have a great day folks. #kernow #cornwall #uk #cornwalloncamera #igerscornwall #lesserknowntalents #bestofcornwall #standingstones #menhir #goonhillydowns #ancient #granite #history #heritage #attiliophotoclub #nikon #nikonphotography #nisifilters #nisiuk #photography #landscape #landscapephotography #potd #ukpotd #scenicbritain #photooftheday #winter #autumn #travelphotography #getoutside

Low light + manual lens - tripod = potty mouth maximus. A few made the cut though. The aeroplane is my favourite, possibly because I’d like to be on it...unless it was landing just down the road in Newquay. . . . . #formulatosuccess #skyscratcher #lowlightphotography #silhouettephotography #cornishcottage #trevone #padstow #cornwall #capturingcornwall #cornwalloncamera #landscape_captures #way2ill #135mm #fullframe #legacylens #fotodioxpro #zeisslenses #contax #yashica #zeisscameralenses #zeiss #carlzeissjena #sonyalpha #sonyimages #sonyalphasclub #alphacollective

Good afternoon....I know it’s Tuesday and i don’t normally post today but I wanted to share something you.... Yesterday I had the pleasure of delivering two of my A3 prints mounted and framed to Mr Mark Jennings the owner and Managing Director of n-Coders a software company based in Truro who specialise in bespoke business applications. n-Coders had recently relocated they’re offices and were looking for some Cornish images to display on the walls, Mr Jennings had seen my Facebook page and had spotted a couple of images he particularly liked so got in touch to discuss his requirements the results of which you can see below. I think you’ll agree these images are looking pretty good, I am particularly pleased with them and I am delighted to have been able supply my work to a local business for staff and clients to look at. If you happen to be a business owner with some blank wall space and you’d like to purchase some images to brighten the office up then please get in touch and we can sort out what you’d like. If you are looking for a software company and would like to know more about n-Coders you can find they’re Facebook page by following the link below. https://www.facebook.com/ncoders1/ #kernow #cornwall #photographer #photo #photography #prints #framedprint #business #office #art #wallart #local #localbusiness #advertising #cornwalloncamera #landscapephotography #nikonphotography #nikon #nisiukofficial #nisifilters #livingthedream #photographerslife #work #sales #fineartphotography #cornishlandscape #supplyanddemand #workhard

Good morning 😁 how are we all?? Today’s post is not the one I had in mind....I’ve been a bit busier than I expected with prints and calendar’s so I’m a little bit behind however thankfully i had this image in my archive from the summer which I hadn’t previously used so I thought I’d share it now. For those of you who don’t recognise the setting this is taken at Wheal Coates back in the summer when the heather was in full bloom and tourists decided to risk their lives on the cliff edge!! The building in the foreground is the remains of a calciner which was basically a furnace used to extract arsenic from the tin ore that was being brought to the surface. Beyond that you can see a sizeable length of the North Cornish Coast stretching all the way down to St Ives. Wheal Coates is a beautiful location at anytime of the year but especially so at the height of summer when the place erupts into all this beautiful colour but please be careful along the cliff edges as they can be unstable and you never know when it might give way!! That’s it for me today, I’ll hopefully have the post I’d planned for today ready for Friday. Have a great day. #kernow #cornwall #uk #cornwalloncamera #lesserknowntalents #attiliophotoclub #igerscornwall #potd #ukpotd #photooftheday #summer #colour #evening #sky #sea #heather #building #abandoned #nature #nationaltrust #poldark #coast #cornishmining #history #heritage #industry #landscape #landscapephotography #nikon #nisifilters

Good morning....I hope wherever you were over the weekend you managed to avoid the worst of the weather!! Today’s image is a follow on from Friday, if you recall on Friday I posted some images of the reflections in the pool of water that lies in front of the engine house at Ale and Cakes mine near United Downs, they weren’t the images I had gone out there for but you have to improvise sometimes, I decided while I was there that this was an engine house I was going to come back and light up at some point and what do you know the conditions on that same evening were everything I could have hoped for so I headed back out there armed with a couple of torches and the camera, now everybody who goes out to Ale and Cakes without exception tries to get an image of this engine house completely with reflection so I immediately decided I wasn’t gonna do that I just wanted a shot of the engine house with some light and the stars in the backdrop, I tried a number of ways to light this shot none of which excited me in any way, shape or form until I lit it solely from the inside and it took on a whole different dimension, I love the way that the detail of the engine house is visible yet subtle, the way the stars behind the building are easily licked out and also that beam of light from one of the torches I was using which is just visible pointing straight up into the night sky, I feel this isn’t quite such a good shot as the one I took of the pumping engine house at Marriotts Shaft but it’s still an image that I like and one I enjoyed spending time capturing. I hope you enjoy today’s image, I’m off to do some work and order up some prints for customers, if anyone wants anything just PM me and I’ll get it sorted. Have a great day folks see you all soon. #kernow #cornwall #uk #cornwalloncamera #attiliophotoclub #lesserknowntalents #igerscornwall #night #nightphotography #sky #stars #building #abandoned #light #dark #cornishmining #different #nikon #nikonphotography #raw_uk_ #nofilter #potd #ukpotd #photooftheday #travelphotography #discover #explore #silhouette #getoutside #justgoshoot

Good morning, ah Friday my old friend it’s so good to see you....hope you ladies and gentlemen all have plans for the weekend. a little while back I took a trip out to Ale and Cakes mine at United Downs, that’s the engine house with the pool of water in front of it....I’ve posted photos of it here before, anyway...I went out there with the intention of shooting the engine house but things didn’t quite work out the way I’d planned so I needed an alternative option and I was standing there thinking what am I gonna do now while staring at this pool of water and these beautiful reflections...my decision to shoot these images was actually inspired by a friend of mine who is a very talented photographer and about a week before I did these had taken some images out at Kennall vale the image that particularly stood out in my mind was one of a puddle of water which had a beautiful reflection of light and leaves in it, very simple but very striking and so I decided to forget the bigger landscape image and shoot something a little more intimate, something that picked out the smaller details, the log, the light, the colours, the trees and of course the reflections....I had a lot of fun shooting these images but I cannot decide which of these is my favourite... I’ll be back on Monday with....actually I’m not sure at the moment as I’ve not looked....ooops!! If you can also let me know when you’re gonna start your Christmas shopping so I can drop some subtle hints as to what I’d like that would be great....!! Just kidding!! Have a fantastic weekend folks. #kernow #cornwall #uk #cornwalloncamera #attiliophotoclub #lesserknowntalents #raw_uk_ #scenicbritain #water #colour #light #reflection #log #clouds #sky #trees #nature #mothernature #nikon #nisifilters #photography #photo #igerscornwall #insta #potd #ukpotd #photooftheday #landscapephotography #explore #travelphotography

Hellish conditions in the office this afternoon... Good morning....Thanks for stopping by, those of you who saw Friday’s post might recall that I mentioned I’d been out recently and done some photography that was something I’d wanted to do for quite sometime but was unsure I could pull it off....well this is it, for quite awhile now I’ve wanted to get out at night and light up some engine houses fortunately for me in early October we had some conditions that were pretty much perfect for what I had in mind and so I grabbed my camera and a couple of torches and headed out to South Wheal Frances on the Great Flat Lode, as you can see from these images i had a bit of everything I wanted, moonlight, stars and clouds that were moving quite quickly while at ground level things were still and peaceful....gotta say I absolutely love being out under the moonlight it changes the whole look and feel of the landscape around you and can be a challenge to work with....I do love to challenge myself with my work so that I continually improve, can’t afford to ever sit back and be satisfied with what I’ve done I always feel the need to strive for more, great for you the audience sometimes frustrating for me!! The first engine house is the pumping engine house at Marriotts Shaft, I don’t think I could have got a better shot of this magnificent building even if I’d stayed out there all night, the moment just came together perfectly with the movement of the clouds and the stars shining through, the second and third images are really to show you how the look and feel of this familiar place changed under that beautiful moonlight, I especially like the third image of the moonlit path leading away from me and then finally we have the pumping engine house at Pascoe’s shaft, incase you can’t tell I am absolutely thrilled with these images. #kernow #cornwall #uk #cornwalloncamera #attiliophotoclub #raw_uk_ #night #nightphotography #light #lightpainting #cornishmining #moon #moonlight #nofilter #stars #clouds #sky #nikon #nikonphotography #landscapephotography #potd #ukpotd #photooftheday #igerscornwall #scenicbritain #art #nailedit #photographerslife #livingthedream #travelphotography

Good morning ladies and gentlemen....what is going on with this weather?? Answers on a postcard please.... Today I bring you the second image from Porthleven and yes on this occasion I am guilty of doing the same thing as pretty much everyone else in taking a photo of the Bickford-Smith institute building but it’s such a well known feature that quite frankly it would have been rude not to, the Bickford-Smith building was opened on December 17th 1884 as a generous gift to Porthleven from Mr Bickford-Smith of Trevarno, a former Member of Parliament for the old Truro-Helston Division, the building cost approximately £2000 and is instantly recognisable thanks to the prominent clock tower which stands some 70 feet high. As I said on Wednesday I was trying to be a bit artistic with this shot and as ever I went with a long exposure to capture the movement of the clouds and the sea which was certainly moving, I particularly liked the way the sun once again has broken through the clouds for a moment to illuminate the institute building....it’s the strangest thing but I always seem to get lucky with these random moments almost as if I’ve preplanned them.... I am hoping that over the course of the winter months I’ll be able to bring you some storm shots from around the coast, it’s not what I normally do but it’s good to challenge yourself and try new things and talking of new things on Monday I have 4 images for you that I’m really excited about, I finally got out and did something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, i hadn’t done so up to this point because I didn’t think I had the ability or technical know how to pull it off it turns out I was wrong and oh boy have I pulled it off.... Hopefully I will see you all back here on Monday in the meantime I hope you have a great weekend. #kernow #cornwall #uk #cornwalloncamera #attiliophotoclub #lesserknowntalents #igerscornwall #scenicbritain #potd #ukpotd #photooftheday #nikon #nikonphotography #nisifilters #porthleven #longexposure #clock #clocktower #sea #colour #clouds #coast #yourcoasts #travel #travelphotography #explore #discover #getoutside #justgoshoot #art

Good morning all, how is it Wednesday already....it doesn’t seem possible!! Today I’m taking you down to Porthleven and I feel must apologise because despite the number of images I took during my visit this is really the only one with some wave action that I feel is worth sharing....it happens sometimes.....anyway, the reason i particularly like this image is because of the way the sun light has momentarily broken through the cloud to illuminate the tops of the incoming waves and this small section of coastline while everything else is still bathed in the shadows, it really caught me attention. This was the first time I’d been down to Porthleven when there was a big swell running and I gotta say it’s a pretty impressive sight I’m quite eager to get back out there the next time we have some rough weather. That’s all for today I hope you enjoy this image I do have one more for you from Porthleven on Friday which is me trying to be artistic rather than just getting on with snapping the waves!! Good morning, how was your weekend?? We start this week with one of my favourite views looking across Carn Brea from the castle towards the Basset Monument just after sunset, I know I’ve posted similar images to this one before but this is the first time I’ve managed to catch the moon in the background and I just felt it added something different to a familiar view plus this is a view that despite the number of times I’ve photographed it I like to go back from time to time to get a fresh and up to date image....what do you all think of it?? Have a great day folks I’ll be back midweek with some wave action from the recent rough weather. #kernow #cornwall #uk #cornwalloncamera #lesserknowntalents #attiliophotoclub #igerscornwall #scenicbritain #raw_uk_ #castle #monument #poldark #sunset #moon #moonrise #colour #sky #clouds #rocks #restaurant #carnbrea #landscape #nikon #nikonphotography #photography #nisifilters #potd #ukpotd #photooftheday #landscapephotography
