If you look closely you can almost see abs 👀 🔹 🔹 🔹 March 28, 2018 (201lbs) // December 2, 2018 (186lbs) 🔹 🔹 🔹 I've lost a good amount of weight since starting #crossfit (in the last two months specifically since changing my eating habits) but that's not really the point of this post. It's more to remind myself that #hardworkpaysoff and that, yeah, my pants are getting looser by the week and, sure, I almost have abs of steel but also that I am probably the happiest I've been in a really long time. Finally having the time and ability to invest in my own physical, mental, and emotional health (and strength) in welcoming, supportive environments has been really amazing. I'm sure I'll craft a sappier post at the actual end of the year but for now I just want to say how grateful I am to everyone at @canopystudio and @crossfitliberate for providing me with constant opportunities to grow and challenge myself. 🔹 🔹 🔹 #crossfitliberate #canopystudio #gainz #sweatandglitter #circuseverydamnday #transformationtuesday

Since I’m in NYC, I have to do a Hero WOD in remembrance of FDNY. Who needs a strength portion with a workload like this.... “Patrick Brown” For Time 3 Rounds of: 5 Back Squats (315/225 lb) 30 Box Jumps (24/20 in) Then, 3 Rounds of: 5 Deadlifts (315/225 lb) 30 Bar Over Burpees This Firefighter Hero WOD is dedicated to Patrick Brown, FDNY, Ladder 3, who was killed on September 11, 2001. Over his 24 years of service to the FDNY, Patrick became one of the department's most decorated firefighter. On September 11th Pat and eleven men from Ladder 3 responded to the attacks at the World Trade Center. His firehouse, "3 Truck", is located in very close proximity to the Twin Towers, so his company were one of the first responders on the scene. Along with so many other rescue workers, the men of Ladder 3 participated in perhaps one of the most successful rescue efforts in U.S. history. These brave men, at their own peril, managed to safely evacuate over 25,000 people from the World Trade Center on that most tragic day. This is a weekly this 45 minute specialty class focuses on recovery using a variety of techniques to increase range of motion, decrease soreness, and help prevent any potential injuries. Big shout out to @tsamssss for being my #swolemate today and props to @janpicksthingsup and @jpgreen3uga for the motivation (and not leaving me to die on my first mile 😭). So I signed up for the @breakthroughstrength six week nutrition challenge with @joeyszwec at @crossfitliberate a couple months ago and we did this workout on the first day. 21-15-9 reps each of hang squat cleans and pull ups (scaled to 55lbs and jumping pull ups for me). Our very own coach and CrossFit legend @crosftr WON THE DANG GOLD MEDAL at the Howard Cohen American Masters Weightlifting Competition this past weekend! Brian went 5 for 6 with a total of 218kg, a new record in the M45 81kg class. His best snatch was 92kg/202lbs and his best clean & jerk was 126kg/277lbs. What a performance! Saturday's 1-year Anniversary Party was a flat-out really good time. Saturday squat session. My favorite programming of all curtesy of @autumnof69. Back squats sets of 10 starting at 135 # adding 20 # every set. Made it to 335 #. Then front squats triples descending down to 155 #. Then overhead squats by 5 to the bar. This should have the legs feeling something special tomorrow.
